  1. Not sure about the horses, but they have a lot of heart! Most people look at their record (19-10) and don't think much- but 5 of the 10 losses were to EL and CPA (4 of those by large margins) and the other losses were USN, FRA, Maplewood, MLK and Whites Creek. Other than the 4 EL and CPA large margin games all losses were 6 points or less and 2 (USN and FRA) were last second buzzer beater losses.
  2. I watched it several times the day after (before they took it off the website) and I just couldn't tell because it happened so quickly.
  3. Couldn't tell from watching the video- but announcer said basketball counted- and I was there and did see them put the 2 points on scoreboard once the official gave the signal to the scorekeeper it was good. Somebody else mentioned the possible goal-tending by EL later in the game- haven't watched that- but at the time I thought it looked like goal tending.
  4. Lindsey's shot did not go in (I just watched it), Brown tipped it in (after the foul had been called). It should have been a 2 shot foul and no basket. It is bad when you have 3 officials and none of them make the correct call- but this is the second time in 2 weeks (other time also in a 10-aa district game) I have seen them count a basket that wasn't made!
  5. Because you have to "feed the beast" and keep the pipeline going. Plus they are out of part-time and full-time coaching positions for coaches who have really talented children (and I really do agree that their children are talented athletes).
  6. That is a very reasonable explanation as to why there has been no mention of vacating wins, etc., if the TSSAA was at fault. What I cannot understand is why they would have declared him eligible in the first place. On page 12 of the 2011-12 TSSAA Handbook under Eighth Grade Participation it states: Any student repeating the eighth grade shall not be eligible for high school participation during the year that the student is repeating the eighth grade. Which really begs two questions- Why would CPA think this student was eligible? and why would the TSSAA initially say he was eligible?
  7. Based on the Tennessean stats he played in 6 games (4 district games) from January 3-20.
  8. Interesting scenario going into the end of the season and tournament time!
  9. If that is true (on Blackwell) it would have been nice if the TSSAA had made that ruling before they let him play in the six games or so that he played in during January!
  10. Why is Blackwell not playing?
  11. Here are some of the class of 2014 that are seeing a lot of varsity playing time as sophomores (that have not been mentioned before): Andrew Cowie, BGA Nathan Moran, BGA Jack Bautista, Brentwood Jack Maher, Brentwood Duncan Smith, MBA Reed Beck, Lipscomb Luke Simpson, Lipscomb Jalen Hunter, Goodpasture Davis Anderton, Harpeth Braxton Bonds, CPA I agree that there is a lot of talent in this class.
  12. CPA fans need to remember they have to take the "good" with the "bad". If they want people to listen to how well their sports teams are doing- they are going to have to realize that not all people share their excitement and that some people think there is a direct correlation between how well their teams are doing and the methods that were used to achieve it. So when you start a thread talking about how well CPA is doing in a tournament- expect that you are going to hear some negative comments. If you only want to discuss the "good" then you should start a CPA members only website where you can do so and limit those who don't feel the same way about CPA (the "bad").
  13. I am wondering why Bradshaw was able to transfer from Greenbrier to CPA last year and not have to sit out a year- something about the 30 mile requirement. However, the football players who transferred to Perry Co. apparently did something similar and this was not allowed. What is the difference and why was one ok and the other not? Is anybody aware of the specific facts in these cases?
