My brother-in-law went and watched the game and said that the South Greene team looked to be a new one. He said they played fierce defense against Union, forcing over 30 turnovers and beating them by 35 with the second string the entire second half. What was also good to hear was that 6 girls scored in double figures! I'm impressed, I'd like to see them get it together before tourny. time. Huge game this Friday! Good Luck to both teams

I think that Holly has had many offers, where she's decided to go, we're not sure yet. But anyone on that calibur of a team is going to get looks from everywhere. I wouldn't doubt it if major D1 teams have their eyes on a few of those girls. I'm just suprised at what a steal Belmont got in Mt. Juliet's best player. What a Deal!!!

I don't think that she's out for the rest of the year. I know that she missed a few games, but if I'm not mistaken she's back already. I don't know if she's back to full speed, but I believe she's playing again. And you may be right on Simmons. She may be a Senior

Michele Simmons...PG Whitney Parkey...SG Those are the best. Simmons is a junior and Parkey is a sophomore

I believe it has a lot to do with what a person does when he/she does not have the ball. ex. working to get open, helping other players get open. It's not necessarily all about scoring. Also, grades are probably the biggest factor.

Wilson Central is an awesome team, I would say they are #2 in the state. But I do not look for them to ever beat Mt. Juliet. Mt. Juliet will not be beaten all year, mark my words. As for Heritage, I see them in 4th place with Jefferson County in 3rd.

Being blown out by Dover isn't the worst thing in the world. They have a really respectable team. But Cheatam has lots of leadership and some great players-Casey Attebury (spelling?). If they can use their senior leadership to keep up the consistency, then I look to see Cheatham in the boro come March.

Tradition

Season doesn't mean anything, everything changes during tournament time. The teams who are winning during the season have to start all over, and the teams who have something to prove get their chance! Nothing can be predicted! I won't bet on any team other than Mount Juliet. I don't see them getting beat by anyone in the near future.

I think the Coach-(Jones) I think? Has done a pretty good job from what I've heard. But then again, I don't understand sitting out players for missed practices. I could see a quarter or two, but a district game, which they were embarassed in. But I'm no Coach, and I appreciate people who do Coach, that's hard work!

Well, if I was coach, I wouldn't be sitting out my two best players when they are in a tight race for the district. Even if it was disciplinary, I wouldn't sit them out a huge game, they would pay during practice! plain and simple! I would win the game and worry about discipline later!

If I'm not mistaken, Rick Insell holds the Tennessee state record for career Gold Balls, but the number I'm not sure of.

I wasn't impressed with SG at all! They were slow and had no one driving to the basket or rebounding. Let's pray that those players that were sitting out make a difference.

They haven't had regionals at Unicoi since 2000, I think! I don't agree with having tournament games at a teams home gym. I think it should be a mutual gym, where everyone's a stranger! It's only fair! But if they're gonna have it, Unicoi is pretty darn nice!

Everyone at that game go their money's worth, I'm glad I made the trip!! Go Landers!

I agree that Insell's overrated, he could win state championships with his freshman class due to talent. But he's no idiot!

Hey JGarrison, South Greene lost last night, I believe that they had quite a few sitting out. I'm not for sure why, but I do believe that the Waddell twins were some of them. I think mono might be spreading or something. That's probably why they lost! Way to Claiborne! Huge win!!
