Coach English wouldn't leave Unicoi to go in conference. NO WAY

Great comeback by blue devils last night. They continue District domination with a great win last night. Any thoughts on upcoming region?

Not familiar enough with all teams but Id have to argue that if unicoi has 3rd best talent how they would also have 3rd best coaching ? Aren't they gonna finish as conference champs AGAIN?

Good points by all. I can tell you firsthand things are done right there. The success of the program proves that. Those kids will regret the decision to walk away from friends and teammates over something so stupid. Best of luck to the devils!

Sucks that they left their team mates hanging. But I know coach doesn't want kids like that in the program regardless of how good the are. Truth is other than shooting those 2 didn't offer much anyway and with that kind of selfish attitude better that they moved on. With you though king. Good possibility they end up on mamas couch!

Funny you seem to know alot about the situation wtaylor to be from Macon county? U know the nera white tournament was less than a week after trip and u know the trip was with grandparents? Neither of those things have been posted. Interesting, u sure your not family member trying to justify something that can't be justified?

Just an opinion but I feel it really isn't about sports. Its about commitment to your team. Quitting because things don't go your way seems selfish. Playing sports requires dedication and commitment and doesn't seem like these players had that. Still not sure how else this could have been handled..the boys played in each game after they returned its not like they were buried on the bench for it. As has been said you have to look at fairness to the other players who started while they were on this trip. Would it have been fair to them to be sent back to bench when these players returned from Disney in the middle of the season? But these kids obviously showed they weren't very much interested in anything thing but selves since quit on team when team was winning. Guess u witnessed their success in nera white tournament first hand wtaylor? Again just my opinion but I'm guessing these kids look back on this and realize Disney was open all year but turning back on teammates wasn't right thing to do ..

Yea I would say leaving to go be with your 4 year old who had pneumonia is a little different. I thought it said alot about him to leave and go be with his son .

Very true. Disappointing thing is coach english told them up front before they went they would lose starting positions if they left ..but both players played in each game after came back in less minutes than were getting previously . They were told had to earn back . Team had won 10 straight and currently 17-3 and these kids leave the team .??

Exactly...obviously team wasnt very high on list of priorities for these kids. Quit their teammates cause werent starting?? I blame parents for putting kids in that position but from what i understand players didnt even tell the coach they were quitting..sent stuff by others and never even showed up. Parents are blaming the coach but sounds like need to look in mirror. Good luck to devils

players went to disney and missed 2 games and week of practice. when they came back they didnt start. coach had told them they had to earn spots back. they both quit after 4 games back. team had won 9 straight.
