OH MY GOD!!! I think this ref should be fired and sent back for training......AND the coachs need coaching 101......please tell me this was a rookie ref like Jim Simpson that did this!!!!

I see Phoniex HS out of New York is coming to wrestling Overton HS on the 28th of December!!! Does anybody have any other information??? If you don't know Phoniex HS is coached by "Mean" Gene Mills!!!!

I dont see how biting could be passed over.......stalling is a "judgement" call and if the ref feels something is being worked then he won't call it....if the fan or coach wanted all the stalling calls then we would have very short days for alot of wrestlers

I think we have to look at a few different things about officials.........do you really think that they are out there without a clue??? I personally know a few ref's and every one gives 100% to saftey of the wrestlers first and foremost....In the heat of a match I'm sure that situations are seen differently then a coach or a "fan of the sport for years", or even if the ref watched a video of the match he just called. There is a way that your voice can be heard about ref's and that is for you to go officate yourself.....There is only a select few ref's out there to choose from when assigning to tourney's....As in anything ref's and coaches alike can always use training and continued education in there field!! Just my two cents........

I know this is not a popular topic unless it is an "arm chair quarterback" making a call from the stands that an official missed on the mat....but now that the high school season is over let's hear about the positives in our Officials. Who selects the officials for the State tournament??

Very well put....Officials are there because they love/like the sport and want to be part of it, as stated in previous statements....there is no Official in middle TN that is going to intentionally screw a wrestler of points, now missing a call or illegal hold are two different animals because the saftey of the wrestlers is the number one priority while calling a wrestling match!!!

Oh my, my favorite topic.....the Official....I know middle Tennessee prides itself on producing quality officials. They only have to work with who is REGISTERED, willing and able to call a high school wrestling match. At the begining of every season they looking for new members....it's never to late in life to return to the sport!!! I know of a few guys that won't call anymore because of coach's....now is there anything that coach's are required to do prior to the wrestling season??? Like taking a class on the proper way to "not call a match" or stick to coaching and not doing the officials job????

Should Officials be in this game for the Money??? I hope not. I know that Officials make desent money, however, it should be for the sport...... If I remember right, GA Officials don't get paid until the end of the season....with one huge check mailed to them after the season and the school pay!!!! That in itself is discouraging!!!

I had heard that that was the problem, he didn't get the call at year end to call State or Duals. As far as Chat. Officials.....come on, Nashville has it going on!!!! With all the support and effort they put into giving the kids a fair match called down the middle!!!!
