  1. This is the game I've been waiting on. We have been on a roll the last two weeks and we will win our 3rd straight game. Coalfield is good but there line isn't as great as they think it is. We have some big boys up front and they are looking forward to showing what they can do. Wartburg wins this one 28-14.

  2. Well we got beat by a much better team than us. We have some issues to get figured out and then we will get on a roll. They were a whole lot better than I thought. I was too embarrassed to come down to the scoreboard after the game. But I definitely think you all are the best team we will play all season. The only problem I have with the game the other night was why was Greenback throwing the football up 41-8 late in the game?

  3. Well Bulldog you are officially famous in the little town of Greenback, looks like some of the young lady's friends have seen your ridiculous comment and i'm afraid this is going to backfire tremendously on your ball club. The young men on the team are taking this as a serious calling out! This may be the worst whuppin we have put on anybody yet!!!!!Of all the young men on the team you call out the girl.

Well I have to admit, she is the toughest one on the team that I've seen. That tells you a lot about Greenback. And yeah, I will be at the game tonight. I'm not a big gambler, but I will put $20 on the game. I will be along the fence in the end zone near the scoreboard immediately after the game.

  4. This is one of the games I've had circled on the schedule because it is one that we should have won last year. We will make a statement this week. Greenback isn't very big. They do play hard and they have pretty good speed, but their weak schedule will show this week when the Bulldogs take them behind the woodshed. #4 in the state? What a joke. We will show you all how to play real tackle football. I hope that girl has her helmet buckled on tight because I hear that we have some guys that are going to introduce her to the dirt. I can't wait to make it on down to watch our guys take care of business.

  5. It was a half back pass from the 5 (FIVE) yard line after the ball was driven all the way down the field from the GCA 30 yard line. Don't begin to think that this was a close game. McMinn central scored on the 2nd play of the game on a busted tackle at the line of scrimmage that covered 60 yds. That back didn't gain 15 yards the rest of the scrimmage. McMinn central as a team didn't gain 25 yards the rest of the scrimmage after that long play. Be proud of your team, but don't get on this forum and try to paint this picture that Grace won by trick plays and the score was closer than it appears. Grace dominated this much larger school and if this had been a true game the score would have been 35/42 to 7. McMinn central isn't very good.

Way to show that GCA pride. I'm sure there are a lot of people that will be drawn to Christ through your attitude. You need to represent a lot better than that.

  6. Sweetwater is a rebuilding program that lost a lot of kids from last year. They will probably finish last in their district. They are also dealing with a new coach.

Sounds like somebody is making excuses for how we handled them. This is going to be a great year to be a Bulldog. I guess with all the seniors that Coalfield, Oliver Springs, Sunbright and Oakdale lost, they aren't on here bragging like they normally do. What have you all looked like this spring?

  7. No one hated us until we started winning. Back when we were everyones homecoming and when we were getting beat by 50 or more in both football and basketball.......nobody had a problem. That's the facts. People complain about CAK and Catholic as well about having to play them. I hear it all the time. GCA, CAK and Catholic are here to stay in D1. Enuf said!

I've had quite a disdain for that school since their athletics started. It began in a girls basketball summer league several years ago at Oakdale with the terrible attitudes of the players and the unprofessionalism of their coaches and they have maintained that throughout the years in football and basketball. Cheaters always can make excuses and cheaters normally lie. That is true in this case.

  8. Thats funny, I have heard Coach Ellison say that a scrimmage is just another opportunity to get better and get some work in against good competition. I heard that from his own mouth so I doubt he is treating it like a game and wanting to make a statement. I bet he is wanting to make a statement when they play Cumberland Gap because that is the first one that counts.

Either way I will be there Friday & I am excited to get a sneak preview of the 2012 Bulldogs!!

    What time does it start?

Well I'm not going to rat the assistant out for what he told me, but it came from his own mouth too. I think he told me it starts at 6.

  9. 100%, not sand bagging...I think Coalfield has a decent chance to beat Oneida. Coalfield works extremely hard in the off season. I have seen it the last two years in middle school. Also, Coalfield plays with a ton of heart.

I love Oneida and would love to see the Indians get back on the winning side in the district, regardless, Oneida has to get stronger in the weight room and then put together 4 quarters of solid football. No fumbles, missed tackles, missed blocks!

If the Indians just show up and expect to out-athlete teams....They could very well loose to Wartburg and Oliver Springs too.

I don;t think Oliver Springs will be that good. I know the championship will be decided when we play Oneida.

  10. If this is true, its got to be Coach powers from Rockwood. A very good young coach, and also has had experience at high school, assisting. That would be a great hire for them.. Very good fundamentals guy and teaches game right way, also a very good teacher I think English or Math?

He is the one that Oakdale wouldn't even hire and he graduated from there.

  11. Smash if you recall last year @ the AC Jamboree, Trevor Allen won the fastest lineman race & Houston West won the fastest back race & that was going up against Campbell Co, AC, Clinton & Wartburg so we're fast regardless of whether Cheetah is out there or not. He was fast in middle school but I'm not so sure he is the fastest on the team. We have some speed on this team. Let people think we are slow. We'll just surprise them when they play us. :)

What did that get you all in the regular season?

  12. Whoa whoa whoa everyone hold on a minute..........PLEASE PLEASE DON"T GO ANY FURTHER...................

Here is what I have to say about the coaching staff of the Grace baseball team nothing and I mean nothing but class.....Yes they beat the Bears 30-2 not 32-2 if 2 runs matter. But from the moment the got up by 10 they went station to station and only scored maybe 4 time from second and 2 of those were homeruns. Once we (tellico) got down by 10 we put all our JV in so they could get a look at a strong pitcher because many of them have never seen that. They would have for sure put their JV in had it been a home game for them. But since we played at home they only brought a few players. Coach H spent 15 or 20 minutes before the game talking to us in our dugout about fishing, baseball, and Luke his son. He is always super to us and is wonderful to coach against. During the game his players were not laughing at us or making fun of us at all. They were super respectful to us in and out of the dugout and we met at the mound after the game and prayed. I know and have seen their other sports and players and might agree with you about them a little but as for their baseball team nothing but class.

Kind of funny you just joined today as a 'Tellico Plains Bear' and tried your best to defend GCA when their own people can't even defend what they do. :D

  13. I haven't been up that way in a while. However, from past experience I can guarantee one thing is going on.

    - Coach Lambert is building/strengthening a program

to be more specific he is forming unity, earning respect, changing attitudes, and working as hard as any other team around.

I do not have proof of this with my own eyes, but I will stand strong in this opinion.

He is probably eyeing his next move too. :popcorneater:

  14. Hate to double post, but no telling when I will be back!

Oneida has a lot of potential. So does an egg. Could be Rooster, could be breakfast!

You can only be young for so many years. Coalfield has a D-linman that tore it up as an 8th grader in High School ball! Not being a homer, Based on the past few years, work in the off season, and general toughness on the field.

    1. Wartburg

    2. Coalfield

    3. Oliver Springs

    4. Oneida

    5. Sunbright

    6. Oakdale

    7. Jellico

    I hope I'm wrong! :thumb:

Smashmouth you are not as dumb as your avator looks. :D
