  1. If anybody has seen Mitchell, its obvious what the problem is. They're best players are not showing up. Echols with 3pts & 5to on 1-4 from the field. Martin with 0pts against CPA & 5pts last night. Phillips 1-8, w/7 missed 3's & 2to.
  2. Hyman didn't hurt them, the turnovers killed them. #1 from Whitehaven made some HUGE 3's, I counted in the second half.
  3. If Khalill wasn't playing last night they would have gotten beat by 15. Mitchell came out flat & had at least 20 turnovers mostly unforced and missed at least 15 free throws.....Recipe for disaster missed free throws & turnovers. If they feel they're better without him they're crazy.
  4. Whitehaven has size, gaurd play ain't that strong. Hyman is a stud.
  5. I was there, they didn't press the whole game. Bolivar just turned the ball over. Horrible shots leading to easy buckets. Mitchell shot the ball extremly well. Megatron if they were trapping out of the pressure, I would have called it a press. Dude you're funny.
  6. It really wasn't close at all. Patino pulled his starters in the third.
  7. If anyone has watched Mitchell play, you would know that they play a full court man to man defense. Down 40 or up 40. Honestly I've seen it hurt them a lot in the past, like against Hamilton. They don't press, its an in your face full court man defense.
  8. If you watched the same game I watched, there were MANY horrible calls. From what I saw, any reaction to a call was a TECH. No warning immediate tech. You say I started this, no I said BOLIVAR has a good team but don't buy in to whatever the coach is teaching. That's obvious by the way he benched his starters.
  9. HC what game was you watching? Really, yes there were 3 techs called. 1 on Phillips for clapping his hands & saying to a team mate that they scared. Another on Garrett for saying WHAT, after a BS foul was called. The last tech was on Coach Phillips for saying Oh my God after another BS foul. There was no cursing at the officials what so ever. As for playing the starters thru the 4th quarter that's not true either. 2 starters fouled out in the 3rd. Why paint a picture as if there was a bunch of chest bumping disrespectful thugs running rampet. Yeah your coach went to his bench, but what else could he do? There was no disrespect y'all just took a good #### beating. Learn from it.
  10. Bolivar isn't horrible. It seems that he is trying to get his starters to buy in. Kemp scored at will last night, but the team as a whole played too much one on one ball. If they start playing for each other they could be a good team, not great but solid. Mitchell looked as good as advertised, they're not real deep but they go hard on defense. They swarm and swarm and swarm. Echols shot lights out, Martin slashed and added the 3 ball to his game, Garrett was a beast in the paint, probably had a double double. They looked HUNGRY!
  11. Khalil is out until mid December, the others will be back in the lineup Thurs @ Bolivar.
  12. BTW's starters played well. They matched Hamiltons intensity, and played them evenly. The game was chippy, Birdsong was ejected inwhich will/could be the norm. Hamilton has lots of talent but little discipline.
  13. After seeing BTW against Hamilton, Mitchell may not have such an easy time getting out of Memphis.
  14. You have got to be kidding, Griffin was a finalist for Mr.Basketball last season. He led the city of Memphis in scoring. As for Mitchell being deeper, they go maybe 7-8 deep, similar to that BTW team.
  15. Pump your breaks Megatron, Mitchell maybe better coached but that BTW team is much better than Mitchell. Newby-Khalill Khalill-Martin Griffin-Echols Phillips-Moore Cardboard-Garret
  16. Hall of Fame Nov.16 Fairley, then they travel to Bolivar 11/21.....Hamilton comes to Mitchell 11/23.
  17. I'm sure you're forgetting about BTW, and maybe MAHS.
  18. Birdsongs presence is undeniable, but he is the wildest card of them all. If his head is straight and they get a handle on there point gaurd situation, Hamilton has a two year run at state.
  19. Its Patino's job to get that point across. Leron can post hard, run the floor like a deer, but he still has to wait to be fed. If WS plays thru Leron they win it all if not it will be a long season. Hamilton is talented, but are a wildcard. I love there fire but they tend to let that fire get the best of them. If they can maintain there discipline, and composure the sky is the limit.
  20. Chipper you made the statement that Khalil was playing inferior teams and should score/dominate, my point was that he did the same against the State champs as a Fr.
  21. You can only play who is in front of you. If I remember correctly he had 37 against Lake County in the State Tourney his Fr. year. Like you I've seen both play, and I think Bradford can play but bring him to Memphis and see if he stands out.
  22. Khalil passive, I've never heard that one. The kid gets it done without dominating the ball. He plays within the team concept, but takes over when its warranted. Like I said before if he would have stayed at BTW with his Grandfather he would have averaged 30ppg.
  23. If Khalil would have stayed at BTW he probably wins Mr. Basketball 2-3 times and this conversation is totally diffrent. I've seen his development from just a scorer to more of an all around game. Maybe I'm just a homer, but as of today, I think he's better than 7th.
  24. I agree Marlon & Dontae did have big summers, but I don't think they had a better season than Khalil but that's my opinion. I think its more of an exposure thing AA vs AAA ball. He was All Shelby Metro, & All State again. Great observation
  25. Marlon, Dontae, & Birdsong in my opinion.
