  1. Please tell me where you sign up for free tuition to play ball at GP, I am sure 12 parents that I know would love that. Not to mention if GP did pay for players to play we would prob have all the best players in the district. But instead you and the other coaches claim we only had three all district players. Its funny because little does people know we won the district with 5 starting sophomores and 1 starting freshman. Only two seniors, So coach get your team ready for the next few years. Its just a better coached team. And if you have kept up with the thread Niki Fogle is a great player never bashed her, just bashed the coaches who chose the awards out of spite, but the award that matters is the championship and thank God that wasn't voted on.
  2. Agreed its called motivation!
  3. Its not just about winning its about doing whats right. Winning has not been a problem for Goodpasture I don't think. And with 9 state championships and 23 district titles I doubt that will be a problem anytime soon. Your daughter must have been one that got award from her coach for spite. Good for her you missed the point completely
  4. Once again its about doing what is right and your right he is a very classy coach who I am sure he is upset for his girls. I am good with the fact they won just feel like some girls didn't get recognized. [Quot e name=Vicker' timestamp='1336752006' post='2797861] Selfish is also worrying about who gets the glory. Also, I'm pretty sure that if the coach from Goodpasture had a problem with it he would handle it. One thing I'm sure of is he wouldn't be on here spouting off, he is a class guy.
  5. Selfish? See that's where picking players who don't deserve something they got comes in. See my daughter plays ball and she is a decent player she didn't get an award and rightfully so, she is young and wasnt deserving. The point is you pick the players who deserve something by how the perform in the season, and tournament. And this is why some girls don't get better and some teams can never get passed the better teams. Selfish would be to pick half my team for awards when there are clearly more deserving players. Anyhow we know who the best is and who truly isn't. It is in the championships good day!! [quote name='Vicker' timestamp='1336747367' po ='2797842 Maybe the Whitehouse girl is the most valuable to her team? But for Goodpastures sake I hope the girls don't have as selfish motives as you and your posts.
  6. Your right its not all about the glory but its about doing what is right, and a few coaches made poor choices out of spite. I know that the Goodpasture catcher played very good in district games and also threw two girls out at second in a 1 to 0 Ballgame should of atleast got all district. I just feel like they took it out on players instead being upset at the other coach. Goodpasture is coached well and they win. Don't take your frustration with the program or coaches and take it out on the players. Maybe I am missing something but would love for anyone to justify what was done.
  7. I agree all three teams could of played for the title, but to vote against the obvious MVP is really upsetting. Don't get me wrong the three pitchers are great but seeing that white house along with Greenbrier got extra votes because we played more games is not fair to the number 1 seed. You should get the same amount of votes and not be punished for being the 1 seed. I hope in the future they fix this way of voting. What if it was our pitcher and we were the number 1 seed and didn't get as many votes but she was clearly the MVP in the tournament, it would be wrong. Coaches should not be biased to those players but be honest and say this player is the MVP. I mean if you clearly dominate other teams and shut down the runner up then that player deserves the award. Its obvious everyone wants to beat Goodpasture but let's not pick a player for a award she clearly didn't deserve. Its funny how the tourney was in white house and they got the most awards and the championship team the least of the three. Really!! If white house has all those great players then why didn't they win, heck we got more awards and we were third place. It was just wrong!

[quote name='lmdjr340' timestamp='1336663700' post='2797 Sorry about that and yep I claim White House. The only thing I saw differently was three good pitchers that could stand toe to toe with each other on any given day and one was from Greenbrier. Just my observations. Who deserved and didn't deserve what, I am not sure. I saw girls make some good plays and I saw girls make some mistakes from all the teams. Thank goodness they left the voting up to the district coaches because the fans would never agree! I thought the three top teams all did a good job and any of the three could have been playing for the title.
  9. Greenbrier actually did you see something I didn't at this tournament, or wait are you from White House
  10. It has to he hard for her to sleep tonight choosing her pitcher who got hammered for 11 runs against Goodpasture tonight for district 9AA MVP. Might I add Cartwright for Goodpasture gave up 1 run against white house in this Tourney. You should be ashamed coach. Fogle is a great pitcher and deserved all district and she is MVP for her team, but not better than Cartwright
  11. Three Tenn teams ranked in the ESPN top 50 in the country one team got booted. Congrats to Beech, Soddy and Goodpasture. http://espn.go.com/high-school/softball/team-rankings/fab50
  12. Goodpasture won the Raptor classic by beating Friendship, Ravenwood, and Riverdale so they have been tested early and judging by you're theory they haven't played much, but beat teams with almost 30 Games so far. They always seem to win every year even when they lose players. They have a great program there
  13. Sorry about that chief I do stand corrected DIV 2A Davidson Academy and Riverside A. I say Beech right now is the best over all team in the state
  14. I believe AAA will come down to Beech or Soddy. I believe AA will come down to Goodpasture or Creekwood. I believe A will come down to Riverside or Davidson Academy.
  15. Well after hearing Goodpasture beat Riverdale in the Raptor classic and Davidson was put out by Ravenwood I would say you couldn't rule them out. I believe DA wins single A state championship though. And everyone thought Goodpasture was going to have a rough year after losing 5 seniors who signed D1 scholarships.
  16. I don't mind the strike zone being tighter as long as its the same for both teams
  17. Your taking this topic and turning it into what you want. Your right there is no problem with the strike zone just call the strikes the same in both sides. And the good teams don't whine they are good enough to have to swing at those pitches and win, but the other side should have to do the same.
  18. This pitcher must have been good that your talking about, because you wouldn't of brought her up. I am talking about pitchers now and the biased towards the teams that are not very good. It seems this pitcher from Goodpasture in the past probably beat your daughters team. Or you played in her team and didn't like that she was better than your daughter. Just my observation. Anyhow if you don't think it happens your obviuosly biased your self.
  19. That's just it if your a good hitter you can hit inside, outside, rise or curve but if it's on the corner and you don't swing it still should be a strike. Alot of teams and coaches think if you got off a pitching machine at 60 mph you can hit off anyone, hence the reason your team can't hit a good pitcher. It takes countless hours of bp and paying for a good hitting instructor to teach a young lady to hit all the pitches, but it also takes years for these pitchers to learn to hit corners, throw certain pitches to certain batters, and its a shame when they get held to a different standard because your so called whining players can only hit a pitching machine ball. Call the pitches the same regardless if Monica Abbot pitches or little Suzie from some high school that is not dedicated to making players better pitches. The dominant teams still win because they can hit those crappy pitches some umpires call strikes, but those girls shouldn't have to swing at balls but if they don't backwards K. On the other hand little Suzie and her teammates get a walk because dominant pitchers Stike zone is a coffee can. Be consistant regardless its only going to make Suzie a better player, and who knows maybe one day she will play real ball, and be a real ball player.
  20. I am not just bashing the umpires I am just saying watch the season unfold and if you get the chance view some of the dominant pitchers when they play a team that is not hitting and see if the strike zones are not different. I can't stand inconsistancy either, but seems like they give a girl who can't hit corners hit more of a semantage making her strike zone a mile wide. I am just saying give all the pitchers the same strike zone!
  21. No not Albritton's dad nor any relation. Its just something I seen and like I said it just seems that way. I did watch Albritton pitch against Meigs and the strike zone for her was alot tighter than the opposing pitcher. Then I watched Beech play a game and again because of who they are it seems like they are expected to throw the ball right down the middle and inturn takes away from what pitchers have been taught. Hit corners work your pitches! Same could be said for Cartwright at Goodpasture I watched a game where the umpire would not give outside corner to her, and yet the opposing team got it all game. You say it don't happen but if your not biased just sit back and watch one game. It's almost as if they are held to a different set of rules because the teams they play for. I am not biased because I literally don't have a dog in the fight. My daughter played for public school and we would play teams of that caliber and take a beating but it seems now its just getting harder for the pitchers to do what they have been coached.
  22. Riverdale, Beech, Soddy who would be a sleeper?
  23. I agree Batters are hitting the ball more from 43 feet, but the good pitchers have a hard time working thier pitches such as corners. Just observe I may be totally wrong but from what I have noticed it looks like the better pitchers are having to put the ball in a coffee can and the others strike zone is greatly expanded.
  24. Id say next time you see Riverdale play someone in a tourney watch the calls behind the plate for each team
