  1. I’d agree with this. That’s what happened in the other losses to Hillsboro and Briarcrest.
  2. Spot on here! We can’t do this against well rounded teams. You here? Want to meet up?
  3. Agreed to an extent. HF offensively didn’t show up AT ALL some of that was Uppermans defense but this would’ve been a better game if HF knocked down their easy baskets
  4. I wouldn’t be either based off what HF has shown.
  5. HF did enough defensively but lack of offense absolutely killed them. These are BY FAR the WORST shots I’ve seen by Hume-Fogg all year. Not even close. Sorry we disappointed everyone with this very lackluster offensive performance. Everyone else did their job.
  6. That first quarter looks like it will be the difference. Been even since. HF having too much trouble on offense, combined with that awful start.
  7. It’s a bad day to have our worst shooting performance of the year. HF didn’t look like themselves at all in that first quarter.
  8. #1 is VERY off for HF right now. Very uncharacteristic plays. He has never looked as bad as that first half offensively.
  9. Very bad quarter. Missed was too much at the rim.
  10. 2nd quarter much better from HF, but may have woken up too late. 10 point game at half 24-14
  11. HF can’t finish at the rim either on the offensive end. Had their chances early but didn’t capitalize.
  12. I’m currently behind the media for the first game if anyone is looking for me.
  13. The day is finally here! Good luck to everyone, and here is to a lot of great games today!! 🍻
  14. Any idea if Haywood loses anyone going into this next season?
  15. Bringing this back from my first set of picks in December to make it to state. Not too bad. I got 6 of them, and mentioned a 7th as a dark horse. Only one missing was Munford, and it is hard to get any information on teams in Memphis.
  16. I just now saw this. I believe you are spot on. One thing to note, when the game got away from HF it was when Nwoye for HF was out with foul trouble. When he was in HF did a lot better on the boards, but looking at the stats the only real difference was free throw attempts (like you stated) and Upperman hit almost all of them.
  17. Agreed. Seeing how Tullahoma fares against SS defense and press will also be interesting.
  18. That is what I thought, but they keep Johnson, Chaffin, and Cobb. So I would be shocked to not see them competing for a title again next season. They will need to find another shooter, but wouldn't shock me if they did.
  19. They very well could prove me wrong. I just know that the 2 seniors are the 2 best players on the team, and for most of the season, it hasn't been that close either. I will say the 2 players you have mentioned have both stepped up more in the postseason than they did in the regular season it appears. Those 2 are also very young so they definitely could develop into being better than the 2 seniors. I just don't think it will be next season.
  20. Thanks! Didn't realize 3 of the starters were seniors. Although you can argue Anderson might be the next best player after Thompson (I personally think its McGill, but I have heard both).
  21. Maybe, but their 2 seniors are KEY this year. Freeman the guard is by far their best shooter and 3 pt shooter, and Stevens is the only real height they have at 6'6". Next tallest person I know of is 6'4". Also, based on the stats and games i've seen I was kinda shocked Terry won the MVP over Freeman or Stevens. They very well might make it back, but it will take a lot for them to be better, and need to find some height somewhere.
  22. Wanted to go ahead and put this out there. In AAA I can name 4 teams that should be back at the top next year: Upperman, Greeneville (how many seniors that get playing time do they have?), Jackson North Side, and Heritage (I don't believe they lose anyone of real importance). I know these 4 teams return their best players. One new team to watch for is Alcoa, as they will be in AAA this next season. Fayette Ware loses their 2 best players. Tullahoma loses their stud in Farrell and arguably their 2nd best player in Johnson, but I believe keeps the rest of that supporting cast. I believe South Side is mixed pretty well between classes, however, they lose their big man in Chris Mitchell and one of their best in Liggens, but I believe they will still be competitive next season. Regardless, I expect North Side to win that district this next season. Hume-Fogg loses 6 of their top 8 players (Keep a really good Junior and a Sophomore), however I have heard from numerous people that their best player, Nwoye, from this past season has a 3rd brother who will be a freshman next year and many say he is the best one of the 3 brothers. Time will tell. I expect Hume-Fogg to compete in the postseason again, but we will see if they have enough to make it back to Murfreesboro. I expect Fulton to continue getting better, as I believe they are pretty young still. This is just an early list. Let us know who else should be considered and why. Any information from out East and West is especially appreciated.
  23. I think this is great unbiased insight. Agree with all points.
  24. Thanks and good luck to y’all as well!
  25. No one doubts they are good. They are! It’s more the matchup than anything else. Chaffin won this battle between the 2 last year (with Hume-Foggs best and tallest player out most of the game due to early foul trouble). Some of us just think Hume-Fogg will do much better this time around inside and off the boards. all that being said, what honky ninja said is very true! If the 2 teams are about even on FG attempts then Upperman will win this game.
