Art,
I agree with Slim here. CC is in a down year, however last year this NCS team would have had the clock running the whole game if they played the old CC team. Unfortunately, this game will not be worth the drive. With no O-Line, this CC running game is far from what it used to be. Only 2 starters return on defense so there is no real leadership. The QB from CC played 3 games last year, but he is no where as effective as he was last year. No spring practice this year is showing on CC. I hope this new coach can rebuild.

This Fairview team is full of play makers. CC beat them twice but I don't see another team having an O line like those guys had. Fairview could make a run.
-
I feel like this won't be a trench war. Both teams don't have much size from what I've seen but have great skill players. This game will come down to big play makers.
-
Even with everyone returning, the Cubs will struggle this year. Those kids returning haven't played 4 years like the 2012 seniors did. No one will ever be able to replace names like Mitchell Potts, Brady Bose, the 2 offensive tackles, and the short bowling ball of a running back. CC's offensive line was the most dominate thing I've ever seen against Fairview and Grundy. It was like the kids were breed to bull doze everything. That's just my 2 cents. Fairview maybe in the same boat

It is in deed. I think there are a total of 5 now? Bose, Brinkley, Fields, Potts and White?
From what I heard there could have been more. Some didn't take the offers they were given. Bose and Fields were both apart of the O-Line that ran through everyone in the district, and were a huge part of the dominate offense.

the "Politics" are unreal right now and damaging to the kids. As for the CC football team...they have most of their skills/combo players returning and a few huge linemen to fill the gaps where our "Giants" once stood last season.
We lost our O-line #54 Casteel - LT/DT, #74 Fields - LG/DE, #76 Manning - RG/DT, #67 Eslick - RT/DT and #87 Bose - TE/DE
We lost some skill players #8 Brinkley - WR/CB, #11 Potts - QB/S, #18 Walton - WR/CB, #30 White - RB
I know that seems like a ton of players, BUT there are some really good football players stepping up to fill their shoes. I can't say where they will be positioned as we don't have a coach ATM. But can say without a doubt that the CUBS team will be a force to be reckoned with this Fall in 2013. They might not go 10-0 but other teams will know who they've played after the game.
It saddens me that a team went from 10-0, the top offense at one point, and were deep in the playoffs last year before being put out by a private school.
With all the unfoldings over the last couple of weeks I have heard that actually some of the returning seniors the year have quit. Including the MLB Newman. I also heard if things don't change that there could be more.
However, I'm a lighter note I would like to congratulate the kids from the 10-0 team who receive scholarships! That's a huge honor.

I don't know much about the politics in the county, but from a team standpoint I believe CC won't be near as mean and as physical as we saw last year. CC had a team of giants if I recall there game with Fairview. What I have heard that is not the case anymore. Coach Jackson I'm sure (if he is head coach) will continue to teach what brought CC to the dance and that's their unreal running offensive and hit you in the mouth lineman.
-
CC is graduating their huge O-Line for sure, and the QB Mitchell Potts
-
#87, #54, and #67 will be sole reason the run game of CC will work, if they play bad, it could be less then a 300 yard game for CC, however if these three monsters play good, the striking power of the CC backs could make this a ball game.
-
35-28 Cheatham.
CPA is good, but I don't think anyone can slow this frieght train that is Cheatham. Another element is this game IS NOT at CPA this time. It could be a huge part of this game
-
The CC offensive line looked nasty tonight! #87, #67, and #54 were pancaking everybody. #30 is known for carrying kids 4-5 yard. Thanks for the respect Jacket
-
Dang, somebody struck a nerve somewhere.
Jacket! I would like to know what you think your Jackets will have to do to beat CC

2 great teams who respect each other, makes it even better
-
This Cub offensive has been non-stop since week 0. I sure do hope Fairview is prepared, whether we are the underdogs, or we are supposed to win. I'm sure Coach Finley at Cheatham is gonna get these boys prepared.
-
What does everyone think will be the biggest challenge for each team Friday night?
For CC, it will be stepping up on defense and being able to get off the field and let the O take the game over.
For FV, it will be slowing down CC's offense, and making big plays on special teams and offense.
-
Was telling the poster here that the Cubs have only gotten better since the first time we met. You won't find an ounce of disrespect from me. Most all of us said after week 0 that CC was a special bunch.
Jacket, from what I've heard and saw on coacht, that Fairview has developed a trio of running backs in #10, #21, and #22. I can't remember from week 0 but did #4 have any touches?
-
With the return of #22 for Fairview. And both #54 and #67 for CC are healthy, it could be a long night for #22
-
This is going to be good. If you can't make it out to Cheatham. You need to find a ride there.
-
I feel like both of these teams need this win, take away playoff situtation, take away region championships, take away the other rivalries on each teams schedule. There has been talk of this game since week 0. It's something both of these teams believe they deserve.
-
It's gonna be a great night in Ashland City on Friday night. Probably going to be packed since the other 2 schools in the county didn't make the playoffs.
-
Hopefully a game of the year candidate.
-
Would you consider Camden over Milan an upset?
-
SC line was supposed to be big and bad like cheatham's. I still see no resemblance whatsoever. Either our line has improved, which there is no doubt it has. Or CC line is really just THAT good. Against cheatham i would like to see more touches for #4, #22, #5. I know that those 3 all start on defense and thats probably the reason they dont. Thoughts Fairview Fans?
Well there's your problem Juno! They were "supposed to be" as good as CC's O-Line. That's the good thing about rematches! You can reflect back. And for y'all, reflecting back is how y'all were able to pass on us, and we were able to beat on y'all. Just like in early posts. It's going to be one of the best rematches in the state.
On another note. What about the respect amongst the kids? During the first game they were all very respectable towards each other.

Crazy to believe once upon a time Cody Finley would have been a candidate to coach at CW after the 2012-2013 season with Cheatham County. Eric Hatley is also someone else with a couple of roots in CW that should had been the head coach. Hopefully things will come together for CW.
