  1. My opinions for tonight's games ... Kenwood over Clarksville - Kenwood is hungry & young Cats may fall on the road Dickson Co. over Northwest - in a blowout Clarksville-Northeast over Henry Co. - Henry Co. has been playing well lately, NE will be too tough at home
  2. I just happened to get to see Tyrone Caldwell play for the 1st time tonight against Father Ryan. This kid is the REAL DEAL! There is no way that this kid is a Freshman ... he is strong, quick, unselfish, great finisher, good defender - he has "the gift" of the big time players! I read that he averages 18 points per game and is the #1 Freshman in TN according to tnprephopps.com - I can't wait to see him play for the next 3 years. I hope he will be the next great player from AAA Clarksville High ... Ted Young (current coach and 2nd Team All- SEC at Vandy), Shawn Marion (USA Olympic Team, NBA All-Star for the Phoenix Suns), and Trenton Hassell (currently starting for the Minnesota T-Wolves). I don't think there is any high school team in TN that can say that they have 2 alum's starting in the NBA right now! I really think that Tyrone has the potential to play Major D-1 college basketball and maybe even the NBA one day. He was awesome tonight ... Father Ryan had a tough althetic defender on him tight all night - Tyrone still scored a quiet 17 points and had many assists to his teammates. He hit a 3 (nice shooting form), 3-4 from the Free-Throw line, lots of steals and deflections, and I really don't remember him missing many shots. If Clarksville didn't substitute so freely in this non-district contest (5 substitutes in and out the whole game), they could have won this game. I hope this kid keeps developing and growing, and puts Clarksville back on the basketball map. I know that Clarksville Schools have suffered with the new schools (Kenwood & Rossview) opening up and splitting up the talent. I think Drake Reed (Northeast) will be a good player for APSU next year ... I just wish he had more help on his HS team. Corey Plfieger (Dickson Co.) is also a great HS player who will be a good player for Rice next year. Every team can use a great shooter! I just think that Tyrone Caldwell will be on a different level in a few years... he is already dominating the district and has lead his team to a 6-1 district record as a Freshman. And nobody expected Clarksville to be any good this year - their whole team is mostly Sophomores and Freshman. I knew something was up when Clarksville won the Mid-South Classic in Cookeville over Christmas Break - 16 teams were in the Tournament including ... Cookeville, Livingston Academy, Shelbyville, etc. Tyrone was named the MVP after scoring 22 points per game in CHS's 4 wins in the tourny. Clarksville's Junior Greg Bronson, Sophomore's Sean Dowlen, Ryan Harper, & Sean Merriweather were also named All-Tournament. This team will be tough for the next few years! For more info and pics about Tyrone Caldwell and Clarksville High - they have a good website at - http://www2.cmcss.net/~YoungT/ Let me know what everyone thinks!
  3. District 10-AAA Standings : 1. Dickson Co. 7-0 2. Clarksville 6-1 3. Henry Co. 4-3 4. Northeast 3-3 5. Kenwood 3-4 6. Northwest 1-6 7. Rossview 0-7 Tuesday's Schedule 2/1/2005 Rossview @ Northeast Dickson County @ Henry County Kenwood @ Northwest Father Ryan @ Clarksville Dickson County has 2 tough games left ... Northeast at home & at Clarksville. I don't think Henry County can beat Dickson tonight, but you never know when you have to play in Paris. Northeast and Kenwood should also get wins tonight.
  4. OK - Clarksville beat Northwest by 49 points in their last game. Northwest loses their 2 best players this year, while Clarksville has everyone back ... including Jr. Greg Bronson, Soph's Shawn Dowlen, Sean Merriweather, Ryne Harper, and Freshmen TYRONE CALDWELL, and LaVonte' Henderson. My prediction for next year's games against Northwest ... Clarksville 100 Northwest 25 Would NW guys stop getting on here saying how good are when your program is terrible right now! You must walk the walk before you can talk the talk. Everyone around Clarksville likes the guys on the Northwest teams, but all the Northwest talk on this site is terrible for your school.
  5. Big district 10-AAA game tonight ... who won?
  6. Johnny Jackson ... coach of the year baby! What a huge win!
  7. Northwest lost? Kenwood played Dickson Co. at home. Northeast was off tonight ... they were at Rossview watching the game.
  8. Huntland beat Cascade 45-39 tonight in a low scoring game. John Patton lead Huntland with 15 while David Gallagher had 13 for Cascade.
  9. Harpeth won 59-44 over Stewart County. Jake West had 20 and Jared Lancaster 10 for Stewart County. Harpeth's Robert Derrick had 16 and Cody Davis had 10 points.
  10. Rossview lost at home to Clarksville tonight 56-51. James Bolden dominated at the high post and inside but the Hawks couldn't come up with the win. Any scores from Kenwood or Northwest?
  11. Come on Kenwood ... get a win tonight over Dickson Co! The Clarksville schools need some help to win this district. We can't let Dickson go undefeated.
  12. Class AAA is the obvious choice because they have the best teams because they have more kids to choose from at their school. This year though, Class AA has Tyler Smith and Div. II has Brandon Wright ... the two best players in the state.
  13. 10-AAA Standings 1. Dickson Co. 6-0 2. Clarksville 5-1 3. Henry Co. 3-3 3. Kenwood 3-3 3. Clarksville-Northeast 3-3 6. Northwest 1-5 7. Rossview 0-6 My Selections for ... Coach of the Year: Kevin Tuck (Dickson Co.) MVP: Corey Pflieger (Dickson Co.) All District 1st Team: Kurt Primm (Dickson Co.) - Junior Tyrone Caldwell (Clarksville) - Freshman Corey Pflieger (Dickson Co.) - Rice Drake Reed (Clarksville-Northeast) - Austin Peay Thomas Pfaff (Clarksville-Northeast) - Lipscomb Surprises of the Year: Clarksville High. The Wildcats lost every player who scored in their final game last year against LaVergne in the Region Tournament. Then one of the only returning players, Alex Witherspoon, torn his ACL during football season. The Wildcats have reloaded and have beaten every team in Clarksville and post a 5-1 record in the district for 2nd place. The road will not be easy though ... Clarksville is on the road for the rest of the season except for hosting Dickson Co. Kenwood. After losing their best player form last year, Kenwood knocked off Clarksville-Northeast and are tied for 3rd in the district. Their pressure defense really takes opponents out of their game. Henry County. Not a lot expected of this team, but a big win at Kenwood has put this team in a tie for 3rd place. Disappoints of the Year: Rossview. High expectations returning James Bolden, but the Hawks still haven't won a game in the district. Expected to finish in the top 3 of the district, but a loss to lowly Northwest put them at rock bottom. Northwest. Not much expected of this team after losing everyone from last year's team. But with Chancey Dickerson and Dante' West ... 50 point losses to Clarksville and Clarksville-Northeast are hard to swallow. What do you think?

  15. I think Northeast will beat Clarksville and then make a run through the rest of the district to finish in 1st place. Good luck to Rossview ... I thought they were supposed to be good this year- what happened!
