Besides the chity officiating the defense got a little soft. Offense need to pour it on.

I thought refs at Henry Co last yr was worst I’ve seen......nope......these clowns at Munford take the cake. Getting away with punching and kicking and nothing.

Yeah… it may have had a little do do with it mentally, but that would be another issue. It just think a more physical team gives them problems.
Yeah. Beech did it last yr in the 2nd half against the Jackets as well.

I think Springfield wins until they play someone that plays physical and runs at them. I felt like Beech exposed them a little when they played. I’m not saying Springfield is going to Chattanooga, but I don’t think they will run into another rushing attack like Beech on the west side of the 5A bracket. I say all of that to say… I like Springfield this week. I don’t think Munford is that physical and Springfield will actually be the more physical team.
Especially after Devon went down.

My biased prediction is jackets 27 Munford 14

1991 quarterfinals Jackets won @ Memphis Ridgeway.
Lost @ home to Brenwood Academy in the semi game.
Micheal Thomas and Chico Gardner were in the backfield, most stacked Springfield team ever.
I remember watching those dudes as a kid. Close to the time that I remember starting watching them. Best tandem in my lifetime.

In 1991 the Jackets went to Memphis Ridgeway in qtr finals winning 27-13 , the wind was unbelievable that game , I remember we ran a toss sweep and ball went backwards down field. We played at home against Trezavent in 1993 also in qtr final winning on our way to winning State Championship..
Oh ok. I don’t remember Ridgeway. I was young then but maybe I was thinking about Humbolt. I remember listening to Walter George then bc I didn’t go.

A thought has accrued to me... Is this the furthest Springfield has had to travel for a playoff game? I know about 30 yrs ago they traveled to Trezvant but I think Munford is further.

If all the schools boycotted and not send them nothing or maybe 10% at most then that would send a message. Get everyone aboard against the establishment that will put an end to their shenanigans imo.

Is covington way down this year? Only ask because they didn'y hand our 4 seed very well at all and we beat them 50-14. They beat memphis central by 14 and allowed 28 points to central. we beat central 27-7 and played our absolute worst game. I cant remember thescore on their game with southwind but i do know southwind was the 2 seed and Portland went there and beat them. We beat Portland 40-0 without a qb. This is why I am curious is covington down or did they just play a terrible game?
Munford beat Memphis C 42-28 and Southwind 31-20

Awesome news for that young man! Was this his first game back?
He played last wk against NW but he wasn’t running. Came out right before half best I can remember.

from us or them or both. Their crowd was on the fence and instigating their players I thought. The long power outage didn’t help anything
Some mouthing. Their guy then pulled a Jacket face mask. Start at 24 min mark.

Their was some pushing and a little facemask grabbing during the handshake after this game last yr.

Beech, Hendersonville, Centennial, Portland, Springfield, and Henry County would be my guess for 1 region in 5A, Probably Region 7
I had Beech, Hendersonville, Springfield, Portland, Hunters Lane.
In region 6 I had Glencliff, Hillwood, Hillsboro, Page, Nolensville, Centennial -
HC 42
Portland 7
-
Im looking forward to the Jackets putting it all on the line with a chance to play West

RD 1
4 Dyer Co @ 1 Henry Co
3 Portland @ 2 Southwind4 Northeast @ 1 Munford
3 Memphis C. @ 2 SpringfieldThis is how I see the 1st Rd shaping up. Im assuming that NE beats Kenwood on Friday that gets them in. I think Munford beats Memphis Central as well.
