I think Polk Co wins this one. It seems to me that Polk's strength is running between the tackles and that may be WV's weakest matchup. Should be a very good game.

I think Polk wins this one easy, but if they can get their speed to the corners it could be interesting. I'm just not sure Central has the line to slow down #35.Polk's o-line is a precision machine.

Chiefs looked good Friday against Panthers, I think they will be two for two against Loudon County teams, any opinions?

Is there a rule about charging for parking? I am curious, I have been told that schools can ask for donations but cannot charge for parking and I have seen signs and often students asking for donations for parking, However, I specifically asked the lady at the school entrance gate at Walker Valley she stated that it was a charge and there were no signs asking for donations. Not going to keep me for attending a sporting event, but I was curious. Could anyone clarify the rule if there is one or is it up to the individual school?

I submit QB Brett King of Sequoyah, he had a strong Junior year and performed well in the spring against Alcoa. Any other opinions about who the standout qbs will be in 2013 for district 5AA?

They had 3 seniors and a junior at Tn Tech today and a senior at UT camp yesterday, all working to get better on top of this weeks conditioning. Chiefs upperclassmen seem to be leading by example! You gotta believe the kind of work these have done in this off season will pay off!

Congratulations to Chiefs Thomas Spradlin, He was camp MVP at UTC's Big Man's challenge yesterday. Chiefs seem to be working HARD this summer to get ready this season!

There was an article in the paper this morning that states coach Satterfield has not submitted his official resignation and they cant post either position until he does, not sure what that is all about. I am hoping the powers that be will look to someone with at least some co-ordinator experience. I hope someone would check to see if Mike Martin, who is an assistant at Sweetwater, has any interest. He has been a head coach and Sweetwater made tremendous improvement last season.I also hope they would look at coach Ryan the current oc he seemed to have the respect of the kids and appeared to be a teaching coach. Chiefs have some good athletes and some great individuals, whoever gets the coaching spot will have the material to win now.

What did everone think about the scrimmage tonight? I would have liked to seen us more physical running the ball, but i dont think the line gave up any sacks and brett and jj looked strong running the ball,I thought. I would say a strong spring.

I was pleased with tonight, Thomas told me he remembered your son from the UTC camp. Your son is so quick. I know tonight will help Thomas down the road. I think its always good to compete with athletes like Braylon.

One of the coaches told me that was Gibbs final practice and he said Saturday at 10:00AM was the Alcoa scrimmage, But I assume things could change.

I thought you could really see the effects of the winter workouts. Line opened good holes and backs seemed to finish runs, only 4 practices in they seemed to be improving.

I was hoping Chiefs Spradlin (#79) and Mr Young might get introduced to each other. I think it would be a good measuring stick for the rising senior Chief.How big are the tornados line this year? Ownby was a man!

I just saw where Knox Fulton's Daryl Rollins had the top score at the Nike Football Combine in Atlanta. He had the top 40 time (4.41) and the top shuttle time (4.0) along with the top overall score for the 1730 participants (111+)[bill Bates' son finished 2nd overall according to the article I saw]. Fulton's Penny Smith finished 2nd in the shuttle also. A Maryville QB also finished in the top 5 of the shuttle.Looks as if the state of Tennessee will have a banner crop of high school players in 2014!

There seems to be a very positive energy coming out of the Chiefs winter workouts, had over 50 kids show up Monday and last year they had one player show up at the Nike Combine in Atlanta and this year they had 5 players compete. J J Harmon, Thomas Spradlin, Brett King , Ben Hall and Bradley Hall all battled freezing temperatures and snow flurries to participate among 1730+ athletes from all over the south.

Chiefs appear to be picking up steam, they have at least 4 signed up for the March Nike Combine in Atlanta and #79 just received an invitation to the Atlanta Nike Football Training Camp for the 2nd year in a row. They seem to be willing to put in the work!
