  1. The hate is strong after an impressive romping of the lions, must be doing something right. It sure feels good to be back to our old selves.

  3. If Bo had come to Giles to coach, a loop hole could've been used to bring Bryce back home I'm sure. They have made their choice, however, and I can't say I blame them.
  4. That Bo has joined the Marshall County coaching staff. Thought my last post was pretty clear.
  5. I guess the latest news of Bo joining the Tiger staff gives us our answer about the current Wallace QB's plans for next year.
  6. Please, WOMG was right up OC and staffs rear end just like he was Walt's before their falling out (still not sure what happened there). I will give it to him though, he is loyal to the man in charge but blind loyalty isn't always a good thing. On the rumor of OC coming back, I would be ecstatic. Doubt it's true though. OC's whole reason for leaving was to get his retirement sooner, so why would he leave before accomplishing that? He would also have to take a pay cut. It just doesn't add up. Hope I'm wrong.
  7. I've just been silently observing the threads lately. Can't get through to most posters anyway. Let's say that Osteen is recruiting players, why would they go? To answer this question shortly, they want to play for an outstanding coach. I don't believe he is, but if he is then you all are just upset because your coaches wouldn't be able to pull in players. When you get down to facts, players are transferring because they want to win and they can do that at Marshall. That is the bottom line.
  8. Osteen may not be actively recruiting players to come to his school, but success recruits for itself. The same thing happened when Giles started winning. Players came from all around the area to play for a winning team. Personally, if my child was of playing age, I would highly consider taking him to Marshall to play for a great coach and great person.
  9. They left because Buckhorn almost doubled their salaries. Who wouldn't leave, it had nothing to do with talent. and what did Walt say in the interview?
  10. I can go ahead and tell you that if Giles wins it won't be due to Walt outcoaching anyone.
  11. Wasn't able to attend but from what I heard Fayettville's sophomore running back gashed us for some big runs. Jordan Tucker looked good for us, which was expected. He should be the work horse this season. Payton Hall looked pretty good at receiver. QB play is still questionable. But I haven't seen this with my own eyes yet, just the word around town. We did win 27-20.
  12. I don't believe that Columbia Central is as good as they have been in the past. This bodes well for us as we will have some growing pains. I sure hope that new coach brought some fire with him because it was sorely needed last year. Here's to hoping the Bobcats get things turned around this season, Giles wins 38-33.
  13. That is my belief as well, although some credit does need to go to Walt for that season...albeit very little in my opinion.
  14. I think we end up anywhere between 4-6 and 7-4 this year.
  15. That's a stretch to compare Quarles, Martin and Smith. One of those things is not like the other. Intentions and goals are well and good, but every coach in the state has those. It's how you reach those intentions and goals.
  16. I apologize, I did read that wrong. I think Osteen has more reasons to stay than to leave, however. Especially if Wallace comes up there. I don't know everything. Best I can remember Smith, Oconner, Johnson, Smith and maybe Long? It was before my time. I think you need to look in the mirror before you start implying others are know-it-alls. You didn't acknowledge my statement about Jackie Smith having tons of talent. Talent doesn't always equal wins.
  17. What makes you think that Osteen won't be at Marshall long? To say they don't have talent coming up is idiotic and I expect more from you. We may be loaded in talent, but we were in the Jackie Smith days as well.....
  18. Doesn't really matter anyways if there are no staff changes.
  19. Just wondering since you said you would pull for the Wallace's where ever they went. I completely agree with what you had to say though. It has its ups and downs being QB. The highs are really high and the lows are really low, but that's part of the game and Wallace knows that.
  20. What if it's the Marshall Co. Tigers? Still go Tigers? or go Bobcats? Just wondering how 27 would feel if it was go Tigers.
  21. Good one there, Oldman....but just like on most subjects, you're wrong again. I've actually never even had a conversation with him.
  22. Steve, could you address this newcomer's question please?
