  1. Can't wait for the Giles vs Marshall County game! Gonna be so sweet reading what those little kitty's of Giles will have to say. All excuses after the game, I'm sure. Sad they're having to pay for others mistakes. I predict M.C. in a blowout! Smith may want to take some note's on what a real coaching staff does. I'm sure Osteen want charge him much. A new power has come to the area, but at least you guy's will be close enough to drive on over and watch them. I'm sure you have time, after G.C. finishes practice, to drive on over and watch a couple hours of a real teams practice. Maybe during the summer you guys can come on over and watch us lift, seeing how their's no summer lifting in G.C.. Well, at least no mandatory summer lifting program. How's that working out for you guy's.
  2. What a joke! Guess that's the same song you sang when ol' Jackie Smith was there, too. I don't blame ya, we all remember how you spoke of this great coach coming into Gile's. So, your just tying to back your investment. But blaming it on the kid's... Never thought you'd stoop to such a level. Anyone who reads what you have wrote in your last few post, knows your blaming it on the kid's. After all these years of reading your post, I'm sadden to see what you have become. Guess your true color's are showing.
  3. Oh, bet Marshall Fans are going to love kicking you why your down. But I see M.C. in a big win aginst G.C
  4. Looks like we're getting our first glimpse of Smith's coaching abilities. Giles has always had the talent, but it takes more then talent to win. Such as: Hard work, and dedication. Hate to say it, but: "Look's like the day's of Jackie Smith are coming full circle." Hold on to the memory of winning, because the last remains of a era will come to pass as this class of Sr.'s graduate . As much smack as Giles Fans talked over the last 8 years on this board, I don't think anyone will be sad to see you guys get a dose of your own medicine. Beat by T town...
  5. Couldn't believe the score, and most of all, can't believe how much credit is being given to CPA... Giles is suppose to be the team talking about playing on up into the winter, and should welcome these tough games. Its what get's you ready for the playoff's. Having a cake walk schedule only hurts you, when you get into the playoff's. As seen by Giles, last year. This was the year I thought Giles had another shot at State. They returned a solid group, and I never expected us to come back on them in our season opener. Big, solid, and fast. From the talk of Giles fans, CPA must be men amoungst boy's. 3 seconds left, and punt. LOL! Means Smith has no confidence in his offense. Which is a shame. Hate to see Giles in a slump, but from all the crap talked over the years, guess you get, what you deserve. Just hope it doesn't drop you guy's off the boards, cause I did look forward to post from you guy's, during football season. Time to start making excuses and blaming others, it always show's great class. When we were in our prime, we welcomed tough schedule's. Guess that will be the first excuse as to why poor Giles had it so tough this year. When OC made the schedule,I'm sure he had no intent of leaving, and any good coach knows, If you think you got a shot at it, then you want to play the best, week in and week out. But poor old WOMG wants to cry and talk about last years weak schedule, and be happy with beating no bodies. Suck it up, you have the team to win, so win, or shut up.
  6. We tend to lose perspective of the fact that coaching is a job. If RickyBobby decides to resign from the Sawmill, for a better job at the Milk Barn, then who can blame him. Yet, when a coach is offered something better, and decide it's in the best interest of his carrier to move on, he's a traitor. Fact is; OC and his staff are leaving Giles in better condition then when they arrived. Not many of us can claim such an accomplishment in our own professions. As long as I ca remember, Giles was the whipping post for area teams. They would've never scheduled us (L.C). OK, maybe Giles and Manchester shared the whipping post. But, the point is, Giles is one of the Top Teams in 4 a TN football, now. 2 years from now, we'll get a real look at the future of Giles County Football. That's when the kid's whom were part of the O'Connor era, will have graduated. The pressure is now on Giles to find another coaching staff to continue on the path that was carved out by the past coaching staff's hard work and dedication. Remember, change, is the only true constant in life.
  7. At this rate, things don't look to well for the Falcons. The thing is, they say they were beat by some good teams, so that let's you know they think their not that good of a team. We match up across the board with teams, but get out played. It's as if the other teams know exactly what we're going to run. If one play works, then we wait a play, and run the same play, again. Don't see how anyone can think Sisk is getting the job done as D.C., when we're getting hammered by other teams. Acting like coaches and actually being coaches, is 2 different roles. It's easy to learn the lingo, and fool others, but your true work shows on the field.
  8. The Falcons are hurting, and I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel. Our Defense Coordinator don't have a clue, an is an idiot. Our Offensive Coordinator is stuck on stupid, and our O-Line coach hasn't seen the ball since kick-off. We got lucky with Lawrenceburg, but it may be our last win of the season. The talk around town is it's our player's fault, but it takes the coaches to keep them motivated. We keep losing players, and our coaching staff keeps blaming it on the kids. That's a pitiful excuse. It takes a solid foundation to build a team, and the foundation is the coaches. Our foundation is lacking any true talent. Coach T want except the fact that he's a has been, and Coach Thomas has never been. Why don't they bring in a group of coaches that care about the program, not a bunch of pal's that think they know football. Now, our QB may be out for the season, and we really are going to be in a hurt. All I can say is GO TIGERS!! Fayetteville City Tigers!!!!!! They're our last chance at a winning program in Fayetteville, and will be a dominate power in the next couple of years.
  9. What a wake-up call. From our practices and the intense screaming, I thought we had it together. Looks like the best thing we did was our warm-up. If we could've worked more on playing, and not our Acting, we could win a game. Sure hope our players and coaches had a wake-up call. Are we becoming the Manchester of the area?
  10. I haven't, but the way you guy's will feel August 18th, you guy's may want to go ahead and stock-up on some. Needed to get our J.V some practice. Most think cause you guy's had coaching issues, that your out of it. But, they are going to be in for a surprise.
  11. I had been checking up on the Giles County 2012 thread, and couldn't hold out any longer, either. Anyone from the area know's the ties, and how well Giles finished the year. But, we also know how they started. The score didn't show how we (L.C) dominated Giles at the first of the year, last year. Giles is a great 4 a team and well disciplined. What will hurt them against us, is numbers, and size. By the 3 rd quarter, Giles will be wore out. Just like last year. They played us well the first half, but looked sloppy the 2nd half. When you have key players having to play both side's of the ball, it is hard to keep up, with fresh leg's. Offensively, they will attack with the passing game. And try for the home run 70 % of the time. Giles QB has an arm, and thinks he's a real gunslanger. Haven't heard anything about their running game, and I'm sure that's b/c Giles is still trying to figure out a running game, as well. Once their O Line is wore down, we will pressure the QB and shut the passing game down. Then, Giles want be able to move the ball. 4 and out. Giles 1 good WR will be a threat, but we will out match them 2-1 with speed and hands. Giles Def. front is smaller then our's, and will also be wore down after after a couple of quarters. Giles don't really have a 2 nd team, so the starting team will be playing most of the game. They'll start leaning on our O.Line, and our running backs will have multiple gaps to choose from. Not too mention our QB will have time to throw the ball. I feel we have 3 receivers that are faster and have better hands then Giles D. Backs. Haven't heard of a Kicker from Giles, so I'm sure they'll be going for 2, and not trying for 3. From what I saw on film from Russellville, that's their best option. L.C 36 Giles 20 GO FALCONS!!!
  12. Ready to see how Giles plays against Pearl Cohn and Winchester, too. Was able to watch them play in Hazel Greens 7 on 7, yesterday. Austin and Grissom put it on them. Their receivers were a lot faster then Giles Def. backs. Only 2 of Giles receivers looked good. Their QB has come a long way, but is gonna need more then 1 guy to throw to. We'll see on the August 17th what the kitty cats are made of. It's going to be a heart breaker when Lincoln County beats them at home, on opening day.
