Coach Price says we can't talk about Greeneville until we get past CCS !!

I have heard that all private schools will be Div. II within a couple of years ( a good move) I hope it comes to fruition TSSAA is wise in using a multiplier to private schools enrollment. They should use a multiplier for any public school that has players from outside their zone. Not a punishment but to hopefully make regions a little more competitive. Let's face it , teams like Signal are going to have minimal competition against schools that are only relying on home grown talent. Their talent level is cyclical vs. reloading with outside talent. As a fan , competitive games whether win or lose is what keeps support strong. Even winning programs lose fan interest with weekly blowouts.

Definitely going to be an exciting game to watch but a good running game tires the other team out ( time of possession will be big key ) No Child Left Behind ( aka IB baccalaureate ) 49 Financially aided converted Catholics 28 ( lets pretend they play straight up , no city wide players for SM or financially assisted players for Notre Dame) Signal Mtn 21 Notre Dame 10 ( just read the box score after the game and see who scores the points)

Congratulations Notre Dame !! A good win. Boyd is down some this year but they still are a tough out each year. I have to admit , there is some pleasure in seeing coach Reynolds in his losing streak. He is a good football coach but don't care much for his character during games( he could be completely different away from the gridiron but I can't speak to that). Have seen him up close and personal, while working sidelines during his games... doesn't seem to mind embarrassing lesser opponents ( and bragging about it). Not too good a sport at losing either !!! Quote from the times free press: "It was a bad night for us as Notre Dame has a good football team," he began inside the Buccaneer dressing room. "Like I said, they have a good football team," he snapped when asked what went wrong for his team. Coach, you can't always have the best players, a little humble pie is good for all us. I hope you remember the taste when you get the players to be back on top Humility is as important when you are winning as it is when you are losing !!

It seems SMMHS biggest challenge is keeping the SMPD away from them boys !! ( light punishments are good !!! )

Has anyone seen any press ( info ) on the 7 AA " All District" Team ?, I have heard that it has been compiled, but I haven't seen anything, A bunch of talented players, curious who they chose.

After the game at a popular watering hole,I heard a bunch of Signal fans discussing the game. They felt poor offensive decisions(especially in the first half) cost the Eagles the game, such as going away from plays that were working when they were about to score and end up with no points, going for 2 when it wasn't mathematically the right thing to do, They felt defensively , it has always been coach Price's style to always gamble on defense despite the risk of giving up big plays ( they aren't blaming the new DC on that). They aren't too confident in Price's ability in future. They feel SM will still dominate in their" weak" region ( look out for ND though) but will not be a power state- wide. They said Price was able to win state because having alot of talent early and able to compete in a smaller classification before having to move up. Is it now the SM "angry bird" Eagles ?

I agree Signal could have scored a ton more if they kept "every" starter in but... I didn't realize # 32 wasn't a starter this year, he got a personal foul for a cheap late in the 4th quarter ,coach Price finally pulled him after that ( smart move) I agree , coach Price didn't keep all the starters in the whole time like the the last 2 games but he kept enough in to make sure the score wasn't going to get "respectable" not complaining just bragging that I was pretty close on my call,

I missed it by 5 points..... no one is perfect but still pretty darn good !!!!!

This should be labeled " The good 'ole boy " coaches bowl. Both are tough nosed , smash 'em in the mouth football . It is a tie as to which one yells the most during the game. They both have been very successful. Not sure which one has the higher IQ though . I won't tell you which one, but during a game the ref comes over to the coach and says " encroachment coach" and the coach says " Is it on them?" Anyway, don't beat each other up too much...

Chuck, you are correct on all your assessment but you left out a few " bests"..... You forgot to add best home parties , best recreational paraphenalia, best spirit buses( fun at South Pitt !!) , and most "football friendly" law enforcement definately best coaches, best coaching job was done before the season started ( wink, wink) ,I hope they can represent me if I get in trouble ( although they weren't able to keep their 100% success rate ) let's hope and pray the mercy rule does come as early as you predict so yall can get to the important stuff, ( I heard 2 spirit buses this time !!!) I heard the best facilities were needed too handle the excess bathroom needs for them tailgaters... oh I forgot, the view is incredible, I am told that Edwards point view is incredible at 3 in the morning from what I am told, be careful when you run though !!! I won't touch the Mom thing but I heard Brow Estates can be lots of fun !! It is a shame that Notre Dame can't be like Signal !!!!!

Would like to see a 1 point game but.... lineman are comparable but Signal's depth will give them the advantage Skill players: speed advantage to ND , power to Signal Signal will win because of their running back from Howard ( he will wear ND down trying to tackle him, he's a load) a close first half but Signal pulls away by early 2nd half ND will be full of fire but will cause them to lose their gas a lot sooner, ND defense just not good enough yet to slow Signal down, ND passing offense not good enough yet keep Signal from keying on the run all night ( also the key to the game) otherwise ND would be able to keep up the scoring pace to make it a barn burner ( although I hear a lot of Signal fans wondering if their defensive coaches are smart enough to devise a good scheme....)

Volahol, Troll is right on this one, you have the same sore thumb that sticks out like Signals, when the your best skill players are primarily minorities, it doesn't happen by chance nor did you have a lot of Catholic conversions it definately has put you in the upper tier but do not be naive and say it is " all above board" this is a direct quote from one parent of one of your skilled players father " Notre Dame gave us too good an offer that we couldn't turn down! " ( I knonw because he was going to attend another school before the offer) Don't worry you all won't get caught, but don't start this we don't give financial aid crap!!! Enjoy your $uccess !!!

good answer Troll I like to see predictions and forecasts, it helps to identify those who really know what they are talking about... very easy to pick the pecking order for the district 1) Signal tops ( due to about 3-4 players above the rest of the league, rest of team solid enough ) , 2)Grundy a notch below ( toughness , some skill ) 3)Notre Dame( talented but young skill players , they play alot of players both ways, Bledsoe( tough and some skill ) , Bledsoe advantage over ND if lack of depth plays a role, usually does in 2nd half ), 4)Sequatchie ( lost alot of players, waiting for next crop to mature) good coach though 5)CCS ( kind of players you want you daughters to date ) next year will be interesting new Sheriff at Signal deciding to take academics and discipline more serious, may hurt the pipeline ( don't worry, Signal will still be in the upper tier of the district, at worst they will only lose their gap between the rest of the upper tier ,will be interesting to see if Price bolts at some point) Notre Dame's skill players will have a year of maturity, if they can develop some depth and their coach is as advertised ,could be favorite in District next year Grundy, Seq, Bledsoe are going to always go in up and down cycles ( not sure where each of these are in their cycle ) CCS needs to figure out how to get football tallent to enroll like they have in soccer ( or get the soccer players to play football ) Let me know if you "approve this message"

Mountain Troll is probably correct on this but I have a question, Is your prediction based on your dislike for an AD or coach( like your ND prediction) , or just "calling it like you see it" ?

Sequatchie is the more physical team, CCS's offense doesn't have the personnel this year to move the ball, CCS defense will give up big plays, Lamb should have a field day. sequatchie wins 38-7

smeagle, unforntanetly I don't have the same admiration of your response as " TCstinger " playing ignorant or trying to change the subject " ain't a sign of sharpening your stick during the offseason" Why don't you know where your Signal Mtn players origins are ? Either it's too complicated because of all the transers or you yourself are not from a Doctor , Lawyer or company president gene pool. Would you care to let us know which one it is ? or do you " Don't Know" that either? also, let's address your superior IQ issue, I was told most of those higher IQ families are "shipped off" the mountain to other schools ( private ) not "shipped to" the mountain for school

The problem with the 67 is this, you score that many by leaving the first team in the whole game, the downside is you aren't giving your "future starters for next year" a chance to get game experience, that may be part Signals woes this year....

Are you saying game of the week for local TV ? If so, where will it be shown ?
