Guys this has gotten way out of control!! I will say it again... you guys need to remember who we are talking about! It's not Allons vs. LA!!! McCoin & Melton are both good coaches. Fat E, I know you think that Richard was just a good ball player & he was but............he is also a good Coach. Let me tell you that. By the way..... I'm not from Allons. I have watched Allons & Rickman play alot this year. I don't have to be from Allons to know that Richard can coach. You are so quick to defend Danny & even quicker to put Richard down?!? I am begining to think that Richard may have showed you up??? Why all of the Hatred toward Richard or for that matter Allons in general???? I read what Chase wrote & I didn't see that he was doing anything that your not....he is taking up for his coach. Everyone needes to lay off Allons & Chase. He didn't dog McCoin like you dogged Richard. McCoin is staying right where he is at .....lets leave it at that. We need to remember we are all from Overton County.

Everyone needs to calm down!! First of all (tiger balla 23) you may be to young to remember but Danny McCoin was not only the best Quaterback to ever come out of this area but he was the best all around ATHLETE. I could compare him to Brian Colson who is a great well rounded ball player in Football,Basketball & Baseball. If you take what you know about Colson & take his ability TIMES 10...That was Danny McCoin!! Do you see the picture? I will give you this, a Great ball player doesn't always make a Good Coach but I think Danny has done a good job. Now to FatE's comment about Richard Melton. What plant are you on?? Do you honestly think Richard Melton is a "joke"? Have you ever been in LA's gym? Next time you are..... look up & you will see the "joke" Richard Melton setting HIGH on the points record!! Once again this may be your age but if you are even old enough to remember.... Everyone one of those Melton kids were EXCLLENT ball players even the girls. Richard could have all the talent in Overton county on his team but if he wasn't a good Coach they wouldn't win. How many times have you seen a talented team not have the season the should have because the didn't have a good coach ? Lets be honest here... If Richard is a joke & his kids are just talented with or without him, then we should have all kinds of kids going to College it shouldn't matter who the coach is......Right! You boys need to quit having a pi**ing contest & look at the two people you are talking about! I like both of these guys personally & as Coaches but If this is really about Coaching basketball at LA, I think we should have held on to Greg Bibb.

Hogeye had a great year....some call it streaky, lucky & some idiots called it hogwash. Last night LA couldn't make anything fall in. I thought Greenbrier had good Defensive game. LA has the better team but not last night. The bottom line is they lost at home. I think these boys should walk away with their heads up. They have alot to be proud of. I think it is funny how everone loves to hate H-O-G-E-Y-E. It is a catchy phrase!!! Other teams have their own version of it because they aren't smart enough to come up with their own school chant. Our school takes pride in HOGEYE & i think it is great! Once you have heard H-O-G-E-Y-E you don't forget it!!! Great year REEDER, COLSON,WEST & PUCKETT. We will miss you next year!! Good luck to Greenbrier.

I have watched alot of games around the Upper Cumberland this year. I have seen alot of good players out there but I think Chase Dunn from Allons would be @ the top of the list......

Sorry, I can't remember everyones name & what grade they are in. Is he the Dark headed boy from Rickman?

I didn't mean any disrespect to LMS. I just knew they had quite a few 6th graders but I thought the Hammock girl was in 7th grade. Next year might be rough but if these girls keep playing together, 8th grade year may be different. They will have to get some size on them because they will be up against Allons...Samantha, Shawna, Jaranda, Allison, & Arial. Maybe Mahaney,Paul & Hammock will hit a growth spirt. I know the Hammock girls dad & uncle. She comes from an athletic... tall family. Who knows how it will play out next year. I think it is a split between Rickman & Allons. Rickman may have the upper hand because they only lost 1 player.

Congrats to Allons Girls who brought home a A-State Championship & Rickman Girls who fought a good fight for AAA-Runner-up!!!!!! Overton Co. had good group of girls this year. I know a few of them will head off to LA next year. What do you think about our girls comeing back next year??? I have seen a few 6th graders that have cought my attention this year. Allons has Samantha Maya.Samantha is going to be hard to stop, she is a great player. Shawna Hammock, Jaranda Dishman,& I noticed Arial Carr can shoot a good 3 . I think Allison Dailey (5th grader if I'm not wrong) will be a big key player for Allons in the next few years. Rickman has a great teaming coming back. Their team will be mostly 8th graders next year. Bruce( I have no ideal what her real name is) will be a key player for Rickman ...she will have some shoes to fill now that Kilgore is gone. Shelby Taylor & Heather Marshell are both good ball players.The one that really sticks out @ me from Rickman is McKenzie Sells. What a player she started this year as a 6th grader. She really impressed me. I remember her Mom & Dad both playing ball (back in the day). Anyone that remembers them knows where she gets it from. She is fast, a hustler & a great ball handler. This kid is everywhere. I think she will be the next Katrina Beechboard by the time she is a senior. I don't know about LMS .... they have a few players (they had 7 -8th graders) I don't think they will be that strong next year. I think that Chelsey Hammock is good. I know the kid can shoot. She is a little small but so was Megan White. Mallory Mahaney &Tori (don't know her last name) will help out next year. What does everyone think????

Way to go Allons!!!!! Not only do they have all kinds of tallent, they have two great coaches! I want to comment on Chase Dunn. I know you will read this & I want you to listen. For the last 3 years I have heard people (other schools, mostly parents) talk about how you are a ball hog, you have a bad attitude, you think you are the stuff. I have seen first hand that you are an EXCELENT player!!!!! I don't think that you are a ball hog. Quite the opposite, I have seen you pass when you could have taken a shot. I have finally seen why everyone loves to see Chase Dunn... fall, miss a shot, or walk. It is envy, those people who cheer when you mess up... most of them wish that their kid was that good. Because it's those little errors that keep it real. You have tallent that is just boiling over. Don't get me wrong I not saying that you are "the whole team" but you are a key player & you will be @ LA also. All good atheletes are a little cocky.... that is what seperates them from everyone else. Don't let it get to you. Play your game! I can't over look the other guys. Allons had a great team! Devon Ramsey... with a little more speed, he will be AWESOME. Keep listening to Richard. I'm not sure if Wll Peterman & TJ Smith are in 8th grade but they are right up there. I know Kendall is in 7th grade but what a ball player! Congrats to Rickman, They also had a great year. Josh Huitt, Keifer Smith, Clint West, Justin Poston,& Jordan Everly from LMS. Great year Overton County!! McCoin is going to have his hands full next few years! He has all kinds of talent coming on....

I agree! I didn't think Bibb was starting S--- with students.... I know he will set anyone straight if needed! Bibb is thumb thumb

I agree with you. I am Blue & White all the way!! I hate the there were words with coach Bibb but...... I have known Bibb for a while & he is GREAT guy & Coach. I don't know if he didn't know how to take our boys when they come on the court?!?! I know how our boys act & I think it is great school spirit! Maybe he thought our students were charging his boys? In a round about way ......what was said?

I call my attitude......Sick & tired of LA being slamed all the time! We are not perfect but neither is Pickett! We all get a little "into the game' as fans but we need to remember big school or little school.... It is a GAME!!

So tell me.... did that left a bad taste in you mouth?!?! Oh of course we were playing well & you guys had a bad night. That is the worst kind of loser there is!You want to say "they celebrated as if they had beaten a good AA team or actually a AAA team rather than a school a third their size." Pickett has built all of this tension up...they talk Sh-- all the time! that is why it felt so good to beat them. It chaps your a-- that we have a student section that actualy cheers. If you are going to complain about losing to a AA team maybe you need to stick with single A teams. The technical against Baiiley was deserved he pushed Cates into the fans. But wait I forgot Pickett says LA has a bad attitude. Right!!!
