  1. I have seen a few FCHS games thru the yrs when I've been in the Winchester area.

IDK how well they travel but hopefully they can match the crowd that the Devil's brought last yr.

The Rebels are led by Nunley,Wells & Hill on offense(run, run, run)& #53 Campbell on defense.

They also have a decent kicking game as usual.

There appeared to be some words exchanged between the coaching staffs at the end of the game last yr & hopefully that won't be the case this time around.

FCHS is seeking revenge after the GreeneDevils spoiled their Homecoming last yr 48-14.

Travel & depth will be hurdles the Rebels won't be able to overcome.

But you have to strap it up & play the game.Good luck to both teams

  2. I keep seeing you use the travel as a pre-emptive excuse for potential poor performance...what, pray tell was their excuse last year when the Devils and their host of fans swarmed into Winchester after the same drive and laid the wood on them Rebels? Does the fear of an impending trip to the shed keep them from resting on the bus? How is the Rebel's run defense? If it ain't better than last year then it's gonna really be a long trip home...

No excuses from me Barb, this FCHS squad is what it is...same as last yr...not very good & that's a fact.Even if this game were in Winchester the outcome would be the same.

BTW I'm not a Rebels fan but have some family & friends who are.(can't figure that)

I'm an SP fan & was hoping for a Greeneville/Signal matchup last yr but paper work or lack thereof got in the way.Maybe this yr?

Yes it's gonna be a long trip home..for the Rebels

  3. I agree 91............play football and stop whining!!! Sounds like he s used to getting his way or he takes his ball and goes homeicon_mrgreen.gif

IDK or pretend to know the circumstances that led T Robb to make this decision. It was his to make & I hope it wasn't a rash one.

I do know that he excelled on the field & more importantly in the classroom.

He was & is a leader on the field & off & I will not second guess the decision he made.

Good luck to T Robb in his future endeavors. He is a remarkable young man

  4. FC seems to be improved over last year and should make a better showing than last year but the long trip to the Devil's Den will have it's affect on the game. WHY THE HECK WOULD ANYONE SCHEDULE A GAME SO FAR AWAY?

The long trip will take it's toll on the Rebels.I see this game playing out as last yr.

FCHS signed a 2yr agreement last yr to play this game.

They would only sign a 1yr agreement last yr to play the Pirates of South Pittsburg.

They picked up Lancaster Academy to replace the Pirate game.

Boyd had to pick up Maplewood to replace Lancaster & the Pirates picked up Arlington Academy out of GA

I don't expect this series to go beyond this game

  5. Better win big here, if youre having dreams of a 3 peat. This will be the test of how well you can stack up with Giles.

I agree.I saw this game last yr in Winchester.FCHS was still in the game till 2min left in 1st half. After that it was all Greeneville. The Rebels are pretty much the same team as last yr,which means they stank. They are 3-0 & coming off a big win against District foe Shelbyville. The Eagles of Shelbyville just gift wrapped the game & gave it away.FCHS took advantage of the opportunities & won in OT so kudos to them.

FCHS played 3 defending State champions last yr & were humiliated by all 3,so they have played some pretty good teams but didn't play very well. They will run the ball & then run some more because they don't pass because they can't.The point I'm trying to make is this:If this yrs Greeneville team is not able to not only win this game but win it easily your dreams of a 3peat are just that, dreams. You won't be able to stack up with Giles or even Signal for that matter.

FCHS does have a pretty good band tho

  6. Same song, fourth verse. Boyd is loaded and will mercy rule Howard. Boyd has one team on the regular season schedule that might be able to compete.

After looking over Boyd's schedule I see more than 1 team that"might" be able to compete.

As for this game if the Bucs don't come out & stank up the joint this game won't be close.Howard will give the Bucs an element of speed they haven't seen thus far.But all in all it will prepare them for what lies ahead.Cut down the penalties & mental mistakes, get up early & the rest will take care of itself.

To the Boyd faithfull:Your redemption draweth nigh...you know what I mean

  7. OK, here's my take and I watched both angles repeatedly.

For one, the video quality is not the greatest, so it's hard to pick up details. I'm assuming you recorded off of the TV with your phone beings I think I hear the Penn State-Ohio game in the background.

Secondly, there's no way they don't hit the fence on that play. Watson was running at a backwards angle and Long was running at a forward angle, and if they don't let up before he goes out of bounds, they hit the fence.

The video is bouncy, so it's hard to tell if he dug in or not, but Long's left arm was around his head.

And, I can see why the penalties were offsetting.

For one, an FC coach get's in Watson's face. I don't know what was said, but I'm sure he wasn't talking about the weather. Furthermore, watch the second angle and as the video is ending, you see a second FC coach in shorts throwing a kick. It's there.

Like another FC fan said, it warranted a flag not suspension.

I don't believe the fence could've been avoided, could they have not hit as hard? Probably.

I agree with croz on this.I don't see anything that warrants a suspension.A bit excessive? That's why the yellow hanky was thrown immediately.I saw 2 players engaged & the fence came up quickly. It's football & if you don't believe me ask #32 for Gordy as he overruns the play & gets nailed on the 45 yd line.

As to the person that posted "film doesn't lie",if this film is being peddled as proof that a player should be suspended then I say it does lie.

Futhermore FC needs to move on because if they don't you'll find that Boyd is waiting in the wings & no moving Goal lines or side lines will help this yr

  8. This pirate team has something the others in the past didnt have. They have the look of doubt in there eyes. The ambassador guy is tellin the truth this pirate team has a long way to go and they will probably get mercy ruled 3 times this year due to a horrible d that cant tackle any1

Wrong. The only doubt you've seen is every time you look in the mirror. So sit back in your rocker & knit yourself a sweater.I heard it's gonna be a long, cold ,lonely winter your way.

As for this coming week I expect the Pirates to have a great week of practice, continued improvement & the coaching staff keeping them focused on the task at hand.I also expect the Pirates to come out & set the tone early on in this game.Pirates will roll in this one.

As to all you yappers out there that say this team needs a lot of work to do,well guess what, what team doesn't?It's still early & every goal this team & coaching staff has set for themselves is still out there. There's an old Japanese word that means continuous improvement"Kaizen" So I say Kaizen Pirates & leave no doubt

  9. This kid is the definition of a one man team. Long is good, but Gordonsville is tough. Friendship had some opportunities early in the game to score in the red zone. Gordonsville deserves the credit for stopping them. Gordonsville is tough!

What else would you say.If it had been SP with the outcome the same they would be mediocre, not as athletic,a lot of work to do etc etc etc blah blah.

Congrats to Gordonsville on a well fought VICtory

  10.

Make no mistake, ambassador isn't a Marion fan. My guess is that he is taking a different approach than some of you yahoos on here the last few years predicting mercy rule in the title games, you know, trying to be humble?? By the way, how have those predictions worked out??

Make no mistake I don't care if he's a fan of Marion or not,as I have nothing against the fine folk of Jasper.I would like nothing more than SP&Marion bring home the hardware. My guess is he takes that approach to hedge his bets so to speak.SP wins he feels good,SP loses,I told you so.I'd rather be a yahoo & go down with my team than be a Chicken Little screaming the sky is falling. If I had to choose betwwen being a yahoo & being more humble, well,I guess I'd choose more humble..naw I'm sticking with yahoo
