  1. I don't think skirting the rules is good for any sport. Especially wrestling.
  2. What does D1 have to do with anything? Apparently, the 10 pages were about more than just this. If "speculation" regarding eligibility needs to be kept to a minimum, then "speculation" about ranking and this transfer causing a 12 point swing needs to be as well. Time to pull out the old asterick until the ruling of what would be a moot point if this were a non-boarding school, is rendered.
  3. I totally agree, which is what surprises me. Human nature would dictate that this would be a hot subject, and highly speculated. Not knowing the "truth" usually motivates discussion on this board, rather than suppress it. You want truth? "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!" Sorry...couldn't help myself. Nevertheless, here it is.... A wrestler of a state championship team transfers to it's rival before the next season, and could single handedly swing the outcome of the TN. state dual championship if deemed eligible. These are the facts of the case. And they are undisputed. Sorry...sorry, I did it again. A Few Good Men...Great Movie!!!
  4. Is there a reason why so many people are avoiding discussing the elegibility of one of the top wrestlers in the state, who parted company with his state champion team, only to up and transfer several hundred miles away to a rival school on the other side of the state, the very next season? Am I the only one who thinks this is odd? Not only odd that it happened, but odd that no one is really buzzing about it? This is THE biggest story in TN High School wrestling this season, bar none!!! It seems that most are simply assuming he will be elegible, I guess.
  5. According to TSSAA, Tate would not be eligible this year. However, since he transfered to a boarding school, will these rules apply??? No sarcasm, I'm actually posing the question.
  6. I would think the little brother Cyree would be the 106. Is he not a freshmen?
  7. Ha! Good call. But, really, since Debien goes 13...who cares.
  8. Why would it matter, they can't touch DII.
  9. True. But, at Baylor he can...and probably will get plenty of Varsity action this season. I believe the intent of the thread is to establish the new younger wrestlers coming in...which are usually Frosh.
  10. Well of course, this is exactly what the Brothers did with Tate for years. Now they have to compete against him. That's the point. He was able to transfer to a boarding school without much difficulty. His family didn't have to move. All they had to do was drop him off. Baylor doesn't develop wrestlers. They inherit them. If Michael Murphy wanted to transfer to CBHS, how could he? He can't. And if he did, he'd have to sit out a year. So, how is that a level playing field? And how could a jilted Tate be immediately eligible under TSSAA rules?
  11. Makes you respect a school like CBHS that develops their own talent, and competes with a school that doesn't. Level playing field....hardly.
