I know this is a DB thread, but I opened the paper up this morning and saw Crockett had beaten Boone. What's the deal with that? Now I know Jamborees are Jamborees and you can't get anything out of them, but were Crockett and Boone really even, or was there something the paper didn't mention? Like Boone not playing starters or something?

Haven't seen their schedule, but I'm sure they'll start hot and fade late. That's what happens when all you do is have your tailback run into the back of your offensive linemen for 3 yards all year. Bodies get tired of that.

Not trying to pile on, because I know Central is in a rough place, but I've seen Central this offseason, and they'd be hard pressed to find a 2-3 wins in Region 1A. They're pretty bad.

Thanks for insight. Had no idea Avery was that big. Great to see some of our smaller schools in TN raising the bar. That should be a be a really good challenge for Hampton this weekend.

How are the NC schools you all are playing over there this year? Will there be any more at the scrimmage Saturday? I know it had been mentioned earlier in this thread that it may be a multiple team scrimmage. I agree with Pujo though, Cloudland may be a tougher draw, but unless you guys are WAY down, Unaka shouldn't be much of a challenge.

First friday of summer camp tomorrow. Big scrimmage day. Heard from a buddy at church that Cloudland had Sullivan East coming in to town. Any truth to that? I follow the 3 Rivers pretty closely. Would love to hear if East is going to be as bad as they were last year. Word is Coach Locke has had it pretty rough. Regardless, good luck to all the Region 1-A teams banging heads with a different color tomorrow. Hoping for physical, injury free football.

Oregon is in the spread and runs the ball 65% of the time. The Spread is personnel. It's not an offense. If Cloudland is gonna be in that Hal Mumme/Mike Leach run and shoot offense then I'm buying season tickets.
