  1. 1. Smith Co. 2. Livingston Academy 3. Cannon Co. 4. Central Magnet 5. Macon Co. 6. DeKalb Co. 7. Upperman 8. York Things could be very interesting this year. Spots 1 through 4, possibly 1-5 could be in any order. Here's a question for everyone that follows this district. How many loses does the eventually District Champ have in district?
  2. Remember finishing 2nd in the district tourney is the preferred spot given how weak the 7-AA teams are. 8-AA #1 seed and #3 will be on the same bracket side come region tournament while 8-AA #2 and #4 will be on the opposite side. Of course, if things hold true to what is expected in the consolation game whoever finishes 1st will have to beat Upperman in an elimination game in the Region Semi-final for a birth into the Sub-State round.
  3. Has anyone else noticed that as of today 8AA has 5 teams with 14 or more wins. Not too mention if you take out district wins/losses 8AA total winning % is almost 80!! Is there another AA district like that top to bottom? Sometimes wish the Lady Tigers were in a different district because it would be an easier road but it's great seeing/playing against great teams every night.
  4. I feel pretty good about my earlier thoughts on how 8AA would shape up!
  5. When did Cumberland Co. play LA score>?
  6. Speaking of the injury......I was VERY surprised to see him playing on Saturday.
  7. Are you sure all those teams are better?
  8. Thought DeKalb looked pretty good. The new post player played very well!! I'm excitied about the Lady Tigers this season....they will surprise! Livingston was down 30 at half to Coffee County but not sure how it turned out. Saw a little of Cannon playing a team from Knoxville and looked ok...know they won but not sure how much.
  9. Can't imagine that Molander will be a 100% at any point the rest of the season as bad as he was limping around Friday....
  10. Remember when I said McCoin was the best playmaker on the field? Well sadly DeKalb had no answer to McCoin at all….but I will stand behind what I said about “pure†QB. Not saying I would take Phillips over McCoin but rushing for over 200 rushing doesn’t make a great QB. Of course, rushing for over 200 yards, 5 TD’s and totally dominating the game from the QB spot does make you the “MANâ€!! As far as my opinion on Puckett being the best defensive player on the field….well McCoin proved me right (on Offense) last night and at least for last night Puckett proved me wrong on the defensive side. Great atmosphere last night…that is what small town high school football is all about. Now I hope both sides root for each other til we meet again.
  11. Waiting huh…..I’m sure you have better things to do than wait on my response haha. 1st…..Totally agree with your post about “teenagers†anything can happen when you are dealing with young men playing in a big game like this. You don’t have to go past last season in this game for a good example of that…DC didn’t come close to playing there best game (granted that could’ve been because of LA but you get the point). 2nd…..I concede your point, DC has not played a “tough†road game…but minus White House where is LA tough road games THIS year (maybe, maybe Smith Co.) but I don’t really buy that this year and the time they played SC (and when DC did for that matter) Smith wasn’t playing there best. IMO 3rd…..â€true†or “pure†I think that Phillips throws more often with more accuracy and looks to throw more than run. I consider McCoin a playmaking QB (RG3/Vick), please don’t take that as I’m saying McCoin can’t throw…just feel like Phillips is more accurate especially on the run and makes more plays using his arm than feet. Again IMO 4th…..Puckett is the “best†IMO because he is McCoin but on the defensive side. Meaning you better know where he is at all times because at any moment he can make a big play. As I said earlier McCoin will be the best overall offensive playmaker on the field Friday night and defensive it will be Puckett. With 16 or 17 sacks on the year (not sure the exact #) and his freakish speed/quickness off the edge he can be a nightmare to block 1on1.
  12. Wow! 1st neither team is going to win by a 34 point margin….period. 2nd DeKalb does NOT have 4 or 5 players better than McCoin or Hayes…..I think one can make the argument that Phillips is a better true QB than McCoin and that Molander is just as good a playmaker if not better than Hayes. Hayes is the best RB in the district or 2nd behind Manning depending on your preference…..that’s a FACT. I also will concede that McCoin is the #1 overall playmaker in the league. With all that being said I believe Dekalb has more athletes across the board than LA…..plus DC has the best defensive player on the field in Puckett. I feel likeit’s DC game to loose Friday night in Livingston.
  13. Not sure what game you watched but younger players def. played.......that is how Macon scored their only TD. When you say "left starters in when game wasn't close" that was soon as the coin-toss....when was the 2nd/3rd suppose to be put in exactly?
  14. Trust me it will be blowout!! LA will win by @ least 3TDs!!
  15. I'm going to go out on a limb and give my prediction. 1. DeKalb------Just barely over LA 2. Livingston-- maybe over DC but I think this is the year things change @ the top of 8AA 3. Upperman--will be in the mix for the top 2 spots but just don't think they have the horses 4a. 4b.Smith Co.,Cannon Co.York--Who really knows with these 3 teams don't think any of the 3 will finish above 4c. 4th but could sneak a win or 2 from the top 3 7. Central Magnet---I think they wil be better but thats not saying a whole lot
