Nashville Christian at Union City - West Semi-Finals
NCSDad54 replied to MisterObjective's topic in Class 1A & Class 2A
I'm definitely not a coach by I would assume we would stick primarily with the power running game rotating our three RBs. I'm sure our staff has prepared a few wrinkles and tried to find areas they feel they can exploit but at this point most teams will stick with what got them there. The task won't be easy but I know our players are up to it and have been hungry for this moment. -

Yep. Both teams are strong. It is goin to be a battle for either team. All of the fans and outside posters have stated their opinions of who they think will win. Not much smack to give to either team. We need to find a different angle to discuss. -

LOL!! This is equally funny. NCS will not be held to 7 pts either! Too many weapons on offense. -

LOL!! I hope you are right. I think the scores will be a little higher. Funny thing is, if NCS holds UC to only 7 points, there will be many on the UC side that will have the same problem you had the only time you were wrong! Hahahah! -

There was a lot of leadership on that list that you posted and, to be honest, that was my biggest fear coming into this season for NCS- losing that leadership. I knew we had a lot of talent for this year and guys that could put up numbers in the stats but finding guys who can step up and be leaders and get this team to believe that they deserve to be champions is another story. I still was skeptical through most of the season, it had been too easy. Then I saw it in the East Nashville game. From the first snap, this team was focused on making a statement. I have seen that hunger in every game since. The belief that they are capable of more than the result of last year's semi-final and they deserve to be champions. -

Gee, thanks for LETTING us back in the game last year! We appreciate it. Now let me ask, did your team just simply lay down to let us back in or was there point shaving involved? Either way that's a pretty condemning statement against your team and coaching staff. How exactly did that work? -

Yep it is fine. See my son, who graduated two years ago, lived in Cheatham the whole time he was at NCS. Now when he played for Lansdell his freshman year and they only won two games, nobody cared if he lived in Cheatham, even the Harpeth fans because they were beating us. Now that we are winning, everyone seems concerned about where the players are from. Why weren't they concerned when NCS was the automatic W on their schedule? -

Since yall are all wondering where everybody is from- we have at least 3 cheerleaders that live in Cheatham county and one or more that live in Williamson. Oh, and our school President lives in Cheatham. -

I guess I'll make my pick tonight. NCS 42 CA 3 Since CA has a Mr. Football finalist kicker I'll give him some props to get a score. -

Glad Coach Lansdell has found success at CA after leaving NCS a few years back. He is a good guy. Both he and NCS are better off. I wonder if he feels any pressure at all coaching against his former school employer. The NCS players that were there during his tenure were in middle school. He did coach both HS and MS for a year or two so some of the NCS players may have played for him then. -

I don't forsee the NCS defense having any problem stopping the run on Friday night. They have been crazy good. They will be ready. -
Time to make my score prediction: NCS 34 WC 21 I think NCS will jump ahead a couple of scores early and maintain most of the momentum throughout. Depth will be the issue. Also, I may be underestimating our deefence matching up in this one. If they are firing on all cylinders, 21 is too generous for WC

No disrespect taken. I agree with your assessment of our facilities. Though we are very proud of what we have, it doesn't compare to many of the public schools that we play. Although I would put our field up against just about anyone. We have some guys who take great pride in making sure the playing surface is in great shape. Our school is made up mostly of working class two-income families who are sacrificing to send their kids to private school. We have a lot more in common with the public school families than most would expect if they aren't familiar with us. To the WC fans on Friday, feel free to wear whatever you need to stay warm. No dress code for attending the game. I'm sure there will be many on our side wearing layers of their cold weather hunting gear.

Thanks! I know I try to be respectful. I'd rather rather pump our team up than run another team down. As for Ken, he likes to push a few buttons. I didn't care for the certain comment he made either but I know it was an attempt at humor. If we were to lose on Friday, likely he would be one of the first back on here congradulating your players and you fans.

I promise you that no one on here or our players and coaches are overlooking WC. They know exactly what they will be facing Friday night. As I said previously, it will not be a cakewalk for NCS. Us feeling confident in their ability to take care of business does not equal overlooking. Maybe we will be wrong in our confidence. But maybe not.
