  1. Well, how did the Tri-cities do tonight?         All 5 teams are one-and-done, losing by a combined score of 180-30.       At least Tennessee High and Science Hill scored, so hats off to them.       Is anything ever going to change in the Tri-cities?      Nah.....  someone bookmark this thread for the 1st round 2024

  2. Looks like Bearden lost to Knox West + Alcoa by a combined 7 points.      Then didn't lose again until getting road-graded by Bradley Central, but then again BC has done that a lot this year.                  Going to be tough for the Indians to go into Beardenville tonight and get the W.             But history is certainly on DB's side, so it will be interesting

    DB season will end Friday

    Top 10 Reasons why

1 winning not priority.. lights, sound, show!

2 Christian biggest clown on Halloween! No leadership No direction Nobody following this guy!

3 OC Thacker.. assembled offense off his kids Playstation. Last in offensive production but still arrogant enough to say "we run a very complicated offense"

4 Man to man D in all situations has proven effective over and over and over

5  3 practices a week through the season.. how many pre snap penalties?

6 Fall break is a real break for players and coaches. No practice/ workouts for a week mid season? Unhurd of in real programs

7 No confidence No chemistry 98% of team/staff has plans next week not involving football. No tears on ride back.. most glad it's over.

    8  Signature win?

    West Ridge? WB? Crockett?

9 Bearden openly recruits and players compete for positions.

DB more pay to play/ right of passage

10 College programs visiting school recruiting, evaluating players Bearden 44+ DB 0

    Summary

Despicable season for a loaded team picked preseason to win conference. This train was off the tracks as soon as Farragut returned opening kick off. Just don't dismiss this season as down on talent. This season was taken away from a great group of talented kids that could have very easily ran the table and made some noise post season. Hate to say maybe Gerald was right?

Lot of good points.      On #8 signature win....    How about being tied w/Greeneville at the half or whenever the game ended?             I know it's not a win but the GREENE is certainly the team to beat in 4A

West can't throw it in the ocean and they will rest their RBs for a semifinal push. RBs have been banged up since week 3. I would not be shocked if you are right though.

DB isn't scoring 14 on Bearden unless they are asleep at the wheel. Their defense has fallen off a little bit in the 2nd half of the season but DB is worse than OR, Cleveland, Bradley and Maryville.

Ah got it, so in that case I would say your score prediction is about right.     Boone will play hard but we just simply do not have the athletes this year to compete.

Yeah it's so hard to understand... Oh hey let's look at the....demographics...of Science Hill vs the rest is the area, wonder if there's a correlation??

Could be, but we also have to consider the school size which in general would mean more athletes.   As the 5th biggest HS in the state, Science Hill (2380) should statistically have more athletes than the smaller area schools.     By comparison, the Washington county schools are Boone with 1207 and Crockett with 1182.      DB (2503) in Kingsport should also have a ton of athletes one would think.

The question is, do we want to get on past last week or do we want to run up the road and lay another egg. I do believe Maryville will win but if they come home with a loss it will be a very interesting winter at 825.

I firmly believe that Science Hill has the athletes to beat you guys this year.     However, they always seem to choke in the playoffs.      We could chalk that up to a lot of things but the point is that if Maryville just plays sound fundamental football then you will win against the Toppers.           You will likely have as many or more fans than Science Hill so that won't be a factor.              (BTW, it is shameful that a school as big as the Hill has such sparse fan & community support...   Those guys are out there week in and week out playing their hearts out and deserve more than they get, but I digress....)

You were just saying how good the tri cities teams were, especially db and their coach….I say the only reason any teams from tri area have decent records…they are all pretty bad

what happened last year when db/sh played Knoxville and Greenville teams????

I lost track.... are we talking football or basketball?

Unknown in this one is how the Coach Carter pursuit is going to affect Science Hill. Sometimes these things will cause teams to fall apart, other times it will rally them around one another. Looked like it initially did the latter in Kingsport on Friday, but the emotions obviously weighed on the team once they thought they had it locked up. Still, impressive that they did what was NECESSARY to get the win, and it's obviously a tribute to their highly sought after coach.

Fwiw, I'm told by people who are in a position to know that there is an offer for an offensive analyst position at an ACC School that is already on the table. The pay raise would be considerable. Coach is torn because of his ties to the area. Hope the Toppers can block out the distractions and play well on Friday night.

Week feels like its snail crawling by lol

Not sure what you mean by that exactly, but you West guys have NOTHING to worry about.      Boone does not have the athletes to compete past Morristown.      Even if your team is overlooking Boone and concentrating about next week's matchup with Halls you are still going to win by a significant margin.      Hope all the guys can play hard but stay safe
