How can I believe you rep? All the trash you talked during the regular season about region finals, sectionals and possible state tournament. What did that get you??? ANSWER an early exit from the regional tournament. I hope you have learned not to get on here and run your mouth. Believe me with one thing, it will always come back to bite you!!!

Drew Pirtle completely got screwed!!!! I am not going to judge and say the other players did not deserve to be on the team, but come on coaches!!!! How can you not vote for this kid. He gives 110% when he is on the floor!!! I just do not understand!

I guess we will all see in the region if it boils down to talent or coaching. Just sit back and watch Rep, but I am afraid you will be disappointed going home early. Could even be in the first round!! A lot of tradition at Perry Co and they play well during tourney time. (and they have no pressure, just some good old country boys ready to pull the upset of the #2 ranked boys)

I knew he was a special player when I first saw him play. Those type of playes come along only once in a while. I hate it when people get on here and degrade the fact that 2 coaches worked hard and received coach of the year and just because your school's coach did not get it then we want to bash everyone else. it will be weird seeing Coach Slatten against Perry Co!! I think Culeoka will win by 10, but I do not think Perry Co is as bad as what they played against Wayne Co. Should be a great region tourney!

Talent makes some coaches look great!! Can he do it when he has semi good players and no Mr. Basketball finalist? He didn't at Cleveland and at White Co. Only at Perry Co and Culleoka. (Demario and Kirk Haston) Anyway, congratulations to the coaches from Moore Co and CA!

I believe the reason why Slatten did not win coach of the year is because everyone across the state of TN expected and picked Culleoka to win the district. No one in their right mind picked CA to even beat Culleoka once much less twice during the regular season. Moore County starts 4 sophmores. They like CA were picked at the bottom of the district ranking. Lets's wait 3 years when Mario, CJ, the twins, and all the athletes he currently has graduate and if Slatten wins the district then he deserves coach of the year. I think Slatten is a good guy, but who cannot take the talent he has and win 26 ball games in class A???? Same way when he was at Perry Co. He had 6'10 6'7 6'3 6'1 6'1 as his starters. It makes coaching a lot easier when you have a team full of talent. Congrats Culleoka on a district title and good luck in the region. Should be a great game between Culleoka and Wayne Co!!!!!!

Actually they did win the District 11-A title in 1997. This was the year Culleoka and Santa Fe would not play CA. Culleoka was 4-0 and CA was 4-0 for the regular season. Culleoka won the coin toss and was awarded 1st seed in the tournament. CA beat MT. Pleasant and then Hampshire. That was the year they finished Class A State Runner-Up to Perry Co. The next year CA was moved to district 12-A.

I was wondering the same thing. I remember they always had talent in the past. I thought they had some guys returning from last years team and was supposed to be a contender at the top. Are the guys not into playing basketball, no talent, coaching, administration....?? Anyone from MC please post and give some insight on this situation.

I will pull for Richland since they are in the other bracket. Tough test against a very athletic Huntland team. If they can pull that one out, can they beat Culleoka? It will definately be interesting to watch. A lot of the teams in this district have really improved since the beginning of the year. Thanks for any info.

I received word today that Grace Pinkston is doing better and should be expected home either today or tomorrow. This is great news!! Thanks to everyone for your continued thoughts and prayers for both families.

Yea I was at the game. No one fouled out of the game for either team. Summertown was up by 5 after the first qt, 2 at the half, 1 at the end of the third quarter. CA outscored Summertown by 11 in the 4th qtr. I think the guys name is Betts. He hit two huge threes in the 4th qtr. I think Summertown will be hard to beat when it comes tournament time. It would not suprise if they are not in the state tournament. Very well played game by both teams. They each represented their schools well.

Yes that score is accurate. CA bounced back to knock off a very good Summertown team. This should give CA a lot of confidence . Way to go guys!!

I have heard that she is no longer a member of the girls basketball team. I was told this by a member of the boys basketball team. It is a shame, because she was a good athlete. I personally do not think her and Coach Wilson ever got along.

Not so quick bballer............ CA 51 Culleoka 41 Huge win for the dawgs!!!!!

CA won the ball game tonight by a score of 51-41. THe score was tied at the end of the first quarter 9-9. At halftime CA had the advantage 26-20. They extended that lead to 10 at the end of the third quarter. Culleoka closed the game to 7 when Evan Rector hit a huge three in the corner to get the lead back to 10. The warriors did not get any closer and as the final horn sounded, CA came out on top with a 10 point win. CA played an excellent game on the defense side of the ball. They really kept Williams and Vosek in check all night. Demario had 8 total points and Vasek 12 to lead Culleoka. Heichelbech lead CA with 12 points, followed by Ingram with 11 and Brent Hill 10. A huge district win for CA.
