  1. Barney, this team is tougher than their record shows this year, at least that's what I've seen. As Tiger said, the RW thing happened quick and they were shell-shocked. Outside of that game, SW has competed well. LB, how do you see this one?

Well Pride I think we have a tough core group of kids that have needed some time to grasp the new offense. 3 Head Coaches in last 4 years has took a toll but the boys have bought into the new system just didn't have much time to learn it before season started. Against Rockwood we fell apart from the get go like Tiger said. Best back went out on kickoff and didn't play rest of the game. Shock ensued and 5 turnovers later Rockwood's heading back across the interstate. Not sure if SW could have beaten RW but I think it could have been more competitive ball game. I look for a competitive game Friday night against the Rams.

  2. BOY i wish this was a SW/GB thread,i like that little feller!Reminds me of the good ole days.WHOOOO!I will be good Pride and step aside.Good luck to the Rams and to your Wildcats little feller.LOL!

Well thanks Orngnblk appreciate that maybe in the near future we can get a yearly GB/SW thread going I do enjoy the comradery! On another note look forward to hosting GCA this Friday and hope our boys show up and give the Mighty Rams a game. Welcome to the Sweetwater Valley Pride not sure if this is The Rams first visit or not but after the last 2 weeks I just hope it's a dry night for everyone

  3. HAHA GB did the same thing in that SW scrimmage as they did in Loudon, gave them alot of presents.BUT they still beat SW.LOL.SW wouldnt stay on the field with them now.GCA BIG!!BOOYAH!

Maybe, Maybe not but if GB played SW again at least we take the field with local kids instead of bringing them in from Maryville, Sequoyah, Catholic oh wait that's right he went to Loudon before ending up in Good ol' Greenback lol but hey whatever it takes right Orngnblk

  4. Of course they havnt!Second game of the season and SW is no Oneida. It would be hard to talk trash after playing Oakdale IMO.So lets see what happens after Fri night.Meigs has a nice atmosphere down there as well,i look for a good first half game and the Indians pulling out a 14 pt win.Good luck to both teams.I just hope GB isnt beat to death going into the Oneida game. That Loudon game was a slugfest and GP will not want to lose to a little 1A team two yrs in a row.We will see you all next week got GP comin in Fri first.

Sweetwater's Defense gave up a total of 203 yards to Meigs County on 55 plays......49 total yards in the 1st half but according to you Orngnblk Sweetwater doesn't have much of a Defense so Meigs shouldn't break 100 yards total against that brick wall in Oneida!

  5. 1. Grace

    2. Sweetwater

    3. Rockwood

    4. Austin East

    5. Tellico

    6. Oliver Springs

    7. Wartburg

Grace is of course Grace but I think Sweetwater will surprise this year with a new coach and the kids buying in, Rockwood will be tough as always with Austin East having more athletes than Tellico, Oliver Springs and Wartburg are a toss up.

  6. Sweetwater is a joke.  Treat coaches like crap.  This guy has been fired for misconduct and is 5 -15. Great hire Weaver!

Just so everyone knows the majority of Sweetwater fans are excited and proud to have Coach Edmiston as the leader of our football team. The excitement he has brought so far has definetly made a change in the attitude of the players that can be seen on and off the field. Anyone that attended the scrimmage with Greenback the other night saw glimpses of hard hitting smash mouth Sweetwater football of the past and it was a welcome site for a lot of folks in Sweetwater. I think fans will see that the Sweetwater Administration made the right choice and I for one say Good Job Mr. Weaver and Welcome Coach E!

  7. checking out how Sweetwater has done in playoffs last 4 yrs its been alcoa or Cak 1st round. Of course winner gets to make the trip.

True 3 years ago 1st round CAK then 2 years ago beat Tyner in 1st round then felt the F5 in the 2nd round but if your gonna beat makes it easier to know it was to eventual State Champs

  8. Ok, I'm just going on experience. It seems like Alcoa/CAK were usually in quad 2 up until the last cpl of years. It is what it is. I hate Sweetwater has to go up there but I believe they can beat GP.

I enjoy going to GP, Sweetwater played them few years ago was a good trip and GP has a long tradition of great football. Should be a good game
  9. It does Thank You

There was not enough natural quad 1 teams eligible for the playoffs. It has happened the last couple of years because teams in the northeast have not been very good. Natural just means that we are in the quad 2 geographic region. Since a lot of teams east of us did not qualify, the geographic line moves westward for quad 1, pulling "natural quad 2 teams" like Alcoa, CAK, and Sweetwater into quad 1.

    Hope this helps...

It does Thank You but Alcoa and CAK are Natural Quad 1 teams while Sweetwater is a Natural Quad 2 or that's what was on TSSAA website anyway
