  1. The problem is referees have zero accountability in their job performance. If they are terrible at their job, nobody in the TSSAA cares. Nothing happens. There is no punishment. But I don't know how you fix it unless you leave the TSSAA. Nobody wants to be a ref because of the difficulty of the job. Because of this, they're allowed to make whatever horrible call they want with zero repercussions. The TSSAA and the refs have the coaches, schools, and players bent over a barrel.

  2. According to CoachT scores, Cloudland had an impressive win last night over Unicoi County 94-81. Basketball can be a strange game. This is why you cannot go by scores. This week is a good example. Unicoi County beat Elizabethton by 20, Elizabethton then beats Sullivan East, Cloudland loses to North Greene and turns around and beats Unicoi Co by 13. All about matchups.

Unicoi was missing at least 3 players in the Cloudland game including both of their big kids.
  3. It looks like Elizabethton is peaking at the right time as they have the past few years and have emerged as the top team from District 1. It also looks like Grainger has fallen off. Elizabethton and Greeneville when it really counts again?

  4. I think Crockett might be the first team from upper east tn. that can actually go to the state tournament and compete since Pitts was at Science Hill. What was that 1987?

SH won 3 state titles in the 90s. They were also in the final four a couple years ago (the year after Hale and Allen bailed on them) and let a title probably slip away there by blowing a double digit lead.
  5. It looks like this is shaping up to be another battle between Greeneville and Elizabethton. Can anybody really give these two a run for their money when it counts? Elizabethton has played a tough schedule so far and had to replace Bowers a week before the season which has set them back. Will Honeycutt cement his growing grasp on the region with this rag tag bunch or will the returning talent of Greeneville and possibly Sullivan East be too much to overcome for him this year?

  6.

Whats Halls doing different this year than last if anything? I mean I know they go as Stetson goes , But are they still shooting it from 28'? Hampton is usually pretty good, but there a single A team arent they? Halls should beat them 99 out of 100 shouldnt they? I guess this is that one

It looks like Halls was missing a couple starters and another bench guy.

I know Hampton is 1A, but they're a lock for the state tourney this year. With the team they have this year and the guys Halls has out, its not a bad loss.
