  1. All middle schools in Tennessee have the same number of games allowed to play. TMSAA member schools are limited to 18 regular season plus Area and Sectional play (which counts as two games.) In other words 20 total with any all tournaments counting as two of your 20. The state board of education also has a limit of 20 total. So there is no difference in requirments on games however there is practice rules and starting dates with member schools of TMSAA. If there are schools playing more than 20 games then they are in violation of state law.
  2. Some first rounds have been played some will play tonight depending on weather. Most all if not all small school divisions have been finished for awhile. Large Schools a different matter. And to answer another question, Large Division East TN. Sectionals are at Pigeon Forge this year.
  3. Sectionals will begin on time and regular schedule this Saturday Morning. Large Schools at Pigeon Forge and Small Schools at Severville. Tournament Directors will post schedules as soon as they can get to their computers with info as they too are not in session.
  4. Each coach should have received a copy of the brackets during Area Tournaments from their on site director. But if that info was not passed along to players/parents then you may not know. AND, we are in communictions right now as to stay with origional schedule or alter them and start over as some Areas are having problems finishing because of snow. Some have been finished now for a week. I will see if I can get some info posted on here as soon as we know exactly what the schedule will be.

  13. The tournament at John Sevier was the Area 1 Tournament,....just like your Area 2 Tournament at Anderson County High. There are four Areas (districts) that combine to form the East Tennessee Sectional. As you know I guess, the top three team advance from Area play, meaning 12 teams from about 22 counties advance to Sevier County either Sevierville Middle for Large Schools, or Pigeon Forge Small school. Next year Large schools will have finals at Pigeon Forge, and and small will return to Sevierville. They will rotate each year. Hope this helps.
