  1. I just want to take the opportunity to thank the two referee's that screwed my son out of a semi final match by not awarding him a critical takedown with three feet in bounds. There was a much bigger lesson awarded here. A life lesson... It doesn't matter how much or how hard you work at something the right thing doesn't always happen. It's how you manage that disappointment that will help to build the kind of character which will make you a more successful and well rounded person. As painful as it was witness, I am now thankful that it happened.
  2. Anyone bold enough to make predictions this year?
  3. Disagree, no sense of community and selfish.
  4. This is why wrestling remains a minor sport.
  5. Oh, and I forgot to mention some wrestlers don't make weight...
  6. Things have changed since that first meeting between Halls and HVA. Point is Halls should have wrestled Gibbs to determine a district champion. If that would have happened a different result would have happened. This happen during a season... Injuries, discipline and wrestlers get better. Wrestlers wrestle off often because things happen during a season. A coin flip is a cowards way of getting out of what wrestling is all about.
  7. I was merely trying to point out that one district went to combat and won their district outright, while the other decided their outcome by a coin toss. The effected team was the won who won their district by combat. The other just happened to favor the weakest team in their district. Coincidentally they got to advance because they faced the weakest team in the team that won districts fairly. My question is this fair play? No other sport I know of decides playoffs this way.
  8. What message is being sent to the young men?
  9. Since when is it be ok for two coaches in the same district to decide by a coin flip rather then wrestling each other, the winner of said coin flip getting to choose who they would wrestle in the regional duals? BTW, both teams that decided not to wrestle for a district champion received an extra pound the next day for the region tournament.
  10. No, I'm not dumb... I just thought it might be fun to carry on a dialogue. One could look at it by current weight or speculate on a 2 class jump.
  11. It's never to early to start a conversation about next season. Anyone want to give us some insight on what AAA looks like by weight class for 2015-2016?
  12. To those regions, schools and individuals that dominate year after year, I salute you. You have the advantages of the best coaching, best feeder programs and best day to day competition. To those of you who have a significant disadvantage on every level, yet continue to work hard and excel in spite of those obvious disadvantages I salute you as well. Here's to hoping that someday all will compete on equal footing.
  13. I'd just like to look them over for entertainment value. There are only 3 AAA regions that haven't posted. I'd say most of the cat is out of the bag.
  14. What's up with those regions that aren't revealing brackets? Is there some tactical advantage to keeping them private?
