  1. What time will all the festivities begin. Any tips for the visiting fans? Will there be plenty parking? Will concessions be operational? C-ville should have plenty there. Especially our "Old Time" alumni.
  2. Another interesting fact from the "Haywood Curse" HC's final game of 1987 ended with the exact same score as it's first. 1st game: Henry County 12 - 14 Haywood Last game: Henry County 12 - 14 Clarksville I'm not making this stuff up.
  3. Henry County has been very quiet this year. So I did a little investigative research, and have a theory as to why! I believe it may be because of the Haywood curse of 1987 Let me explain. In 1985 HC goes 10-0 in the regular season under Coach James Counce. They follow that with an 8-2 season in 1986. But in 1987 they decide to start the season off against Haywood. This results in a loss with the score of 12-14. (Look Familiar) Which is followed by a 2-8 season. PLUS HC has a record of 13-17 when they lose the season opener to Haywood. Could this be the great curse of Haywood? HC had 2 losses in 2015, followed by 4 losses in 2016, some believe that the curse may follow the eclipse and result in an 8 loss season for HC. Only time will tell.
  4. Tough Week 1 for Region 7 Clarksville 15 - 13 Rossview Dyer County 24 - 41 Crocket County Henry County 12 -14 Haywood Kenwood 6 -32 Greenbrier Northeast 20 - 34 Central Harding, KY Northwest 6 - 41 Southwestern, KY West Creek 25 - 13 White House
  5. “Not So Epic” fbepic Quotes: “They will be matched up well with West Creek and Kenwood. Northeast and Henry County? No way. Not sure about Dyer county. Even though Rossview is 6A now, they play week 1. That might get ugly." “There is no way on the green earth CHS finishes second in that region. Obviously you seem like a big time supporter of them, but come on. I agree with Ole Wildcat. This coaching regime has tarnished this program.” “Yea, it could get ugly. RV didn't lose much including the entire offensive line. I don't see CHS keeping up at all in this one. RV with an upgraded the coaching staff will not be good for CHS either.”
  6. Good to see you too. I thought it may have been one of the better games of this series. It had a different feel with Coach Hood on the other side. (a good feel) I was really surprised at our kicking game. I don't know, but I suspect we may have been to confident in it, and may have neglected working on it this week. I think Luna is fine. From what I was told it wasn't an injury, but maybe dehydration. It can happen to the best of us. I missed the incident, but Rossview doesn't have the luxury of dwelling on this loss. They have a very tough opponent in Christian County next week. See you next week in Springfield.
  7. Here we come. It is an absolute honor to be the first visiting team in your new stadium. Unfortunately I believe we will steal the night.
  8. Great game tonight. Rossview will be fine. The biggest difference tonight was one team that has been in the same system for 4 years now, and another that is one game into a new system. RHS has some tough opponents ahead, but will get better with each game.
  9. Ravenwood is not the measuring stick for success that they used to be. I think they are predicted to finish 5th in their region, just ahead of Dickson County.
  10. They did put some extra bleachers out, but it will never be enough. I believe that there will be a better chance of moving this game to APSU now that coach Hood is in place. Especially if the game stays at week one. Good luck to all tonight.
  11. My Picks Clarksville vs. Rossview Dyer County vs. Crocket County Henry County @ Haywood Kenwood @ Greenbrier Northeast vs C. Harding, KY Northwest @ Southwestern, KY West Creek @ White House
  12. Sure is quiet around here...Where's the Yanker? The world's only living YANKER , the world's smartest YANKER ...the world's most logical YANKER ...the world's most brilliant YANKER ...and the world's most incomparable YANKER… (His words, not mine) What shall the score be?
  13. Football is upon us. It's time to see what the off-season has produced. Here are this weeks games. Let's here your predictions. Wk 1 - Class 5A - Region 7 Clarksville vs. Rossview Dyer County vs. Crocket County Henry County @ Haywood Kenwood @ Greenbrier Northeast vs C. Harding, KY Northwest @ Southwestern, KY West Creek @ White House
  14. ESPN Friday Night Blitz just released there “Game of the Week” schedule. I understand they are trying to cover all the schools equally, but this is hardly a list of “The Games of the Week”. 8/18 – Rossview @ Clarksville 8/25 – Montgomery Central @ Kenwood 9/1 – Northwest @ West Creek 9/8 – Rossview @ Northeast 9/15 – Fayette Academy @ Clarksville Academy 9/22 – Montgomery Central @ Harpeth 9/29 – Kenwood @ West Creek 10/6 – Northwest @ Northeast 10/13 – Clarksville Academy @ Middle TN Christian 10/20 – Paducah Tighman @ Fort Campbell 10/27 – West Creek @ Clarksville High I think they missed some potentially great games. Here is my list with some brief explanations of what most likely will be the “Best” games of each week. 8/18 – Rossview @ Clarksville (Biggest Game of the Year) 8/25 – Clarksville @ Springfield (Oldest Rivalry + 1st Game in New Stadium) 9/1 – Wilson Central @ Rossview (1st Home Game + 1st Test in New Region) 9/8 – Rossview @ Northeast (1st Game between 2 New Coaches from same team) 9/15 – Northwest @ Kenwood (A Good Rivalry with a New Coach) 9/22 – Montgomery Central @ Harpeth (Harpeth Won Last Year 28-27) 9/29 – Clarksville @ Northeast (Best Game of the Week) 10/6 – Northwest @ Northeast (Best Game of the Week) 10/13 – Ft Campbell @ Caldwell County (Game of the Week) 10/20 – West Creek vs Dyer County (Welcome Dyer County) 10/27 – Clarksville Academy vs Davidson Academy (A Good Regional Game)
  15. I hoped you noticed the C is above the R. Clarksville still leads the series 9 - 5. Go Cats!
  16. I wouldn’t say Rossview is disrespected in the City. Most consider it one of the top schools. But they did not start off very strong in football. It took 6 years for them to have their first winning season (6-5) and first playoff appearance. They have only had 6 winning records in 16 years and did not win a playoff game until 2014. Coach Lambert is a good coach and did a great job building them into a quality program, but most would say that he lacked personal charisma with the local community. I believe that is where your sense of disrespect has come from. I believe Coach Hood will be just as good of a coach, and will add some much needed positive public perception to the program. I believe all of the Clarksville schools are moving in the right direction and that we may finally start to become a town that is recognized for our football success. Although we still have a ways to go, I believe Clarksville, Rossview, and Northeast will be leading the way. Good luck this year. I’ll be routing for you, after week 1.
  17. Just let me know if you need a ride. I plan on going early and getting a seat with Big John.
  18. Only Time will tell. I predict Clarksville will be hitting on all cylinders, while Rossview is still trying to figure out their new system. Clarksville's lead in this series will be extended to 10 & 5.
  19. That makes sense now. I only put MJ on top because they are returning a lot of players from an already good team. 15 starters returning 5-offense 10-defense (which averaged 15.5 points against per game last year) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rossview and Hendersonville are two really good additions and will make for a very strong region.
  20. Looking at this region from the outside I don't see Wilson Central at #1 or Mt. Juliet at #3. I think MJ makes a strong case for #1 What happened to WC against 3-7 Collierville in the playoffs? Mt. Juliet Hendersonville Wilson Central Rossview / Station Camp Lebanon
  21. Here are Sonny Moore’s Computer Power Ratings Start of the Season Henry County - 5A: 8th TN: 47th Northeast - 5A: 18th TN: 93rd Dyer County - 5A: 32nd TN: 147th Clarksville - 5A: 34th TN: 161st Northwest - 5A: 37th TN: 183rd Kenwood - 5A: 39th TN: 192nd West Creek - 5A: 50th TN: 255th
  22. Poppop, Lot's of changes at Rossview. New Coaches and a tough new region. I think they have a lot of the right pieces and Coach Hood is up for the challenge. But they may be looking at a 5-5 season with their schedule. Here is what your new region did last year: Wilson Central 8-3 (1st Round) Mt Juliet 9-3 (2nd Round) Hendersonville 7-3 Station Camp 4-6 (beat Rossview) Lebanon 1-10 I expect Rossview to upset at least one of the top 3 teams in this region. They will just have to get over their week one upset loss.
