  1. Finally some district games: Dickson County @ Centennial Northeast @ Henry County Rossview @ Brentwood West Creek @ Clarksville Probably the easiest picks of the year. Centennial Henry County Brentwood Clarksville
  2. Here are Sonny Moore’s computer picks. The number represents there standing statewide within all classes. Sonny Moore’s Picks Team Wk-2 Brentwood #9 Centennial #18 Henry Co. #35 North East #98 Rossview #147 Dickson Co. #167 Clarksville #172 West Creek #249
  3. My bad, I'm not used to HC losing.
  4. Here’s where we stand after two weeks. Brentwood (1-1) -Looks strong after a close game against Independence and a big win over Ravenwood. Centennial (1-1) -Not last year’s team but still impressive and will compete for District. Henry Co. (0-1) -Jury’s still out, but still in the top 3 (which are head and shoulders above the rest). Clarksville (1-1) -Still on top in the City, but most likely not ready to compete with top 3. Dickson Co. (1-1) -This is the wild card team. Good on offense, but may be lacking on defense. North East (1-1) -Who knows what’s going on over there? Rossview (0-2) -Tough road ahead. They will compete in every game, but may only win 2 this year. West Creek (0-2) -Still a work in progress.
  5. This was the first I have heard of it. I then located a brief story in the Leaf Chronicle, but it doesn't say much. I'm amazed that the rumor mill has not exploded. http://www.theleafchronicle.com/story/sports/high-school/2016/08/27/northeast-football-coaches-discipined/89492698/
  6. Wow...you just broke the story. It certainly is pretty hush, hush here, with the only exception being a small article online.
  7. Brentwood vs Ravenwood Rossview vs Beech Dickson Co @ Columbia Northeast@ Father Ryan Henry Co vs Houston Clarksville @ Kenwood Centennial vs Independence West Creek vs Hopkinsville
  8. Clarksville has a lot better football to be played, but the Bison were mighty impressive last night. They are a large squad. Not corn fed large, but tall, strong and athletic large. Number 18 (DE) locked down the right side of the defense, and made a lot of plays in the back field. That young man is one of many beast on a well rounded squad. Good luck going forward.
  9. I'm not sure what SC has this year. But I think Clarksville is going to be much more proficient on offense this year. Wildcats 28-21 Bison
  10. Looking forward to visiting Station Camp Friday. Last year was a good game (21-20) till the last second.
  11. Brentwood @ Independence Centennial @ Franklin Clarksville @ Station Camp Dickson Co. vs. Creek Wood Henry Co. @ Liberty TM North East vs. Sycamore Rossview @ East Nashville West Creek @ Kenwood -------------------------------------------- - I think Centennial and Henry County's games will contend for the game of the week.
  12. Clarksville’s record was 1-9 last year, but that doesn’t change the fact of how they actually played. They beat every team in the city and will field a better team this year than last. But this is just my optimistic and bias opinion.
  13. No disrespect intended towards DC. And I’m not sure why I picked Rossview ahead of them. My picks are mostly based off of what I read and are just simple opinions to fill the void of preseason. From what I read, Dickson has lost quite a bit on both sides of the ball especially on their O-line, and had a change at head coach. The biggest question is whether they are better than a year ago. I believe HC and Centennial are still the teams to beat. I also think that Brentwood, Clarksville, and North East will be better than a year ago.
  14. Here are the games for Week 1 Brentwood @ Independence Centennial @ Franklin Clarksville @ Station Camp Dickson Co. vs. Creek Wood Henry Co. @ Liberty TM North East vs. Sycamore Rossview @ East Nashville West Creek @ Kenwood
  15. Here are my picks for how the district pans out this year. Centennial (8-2) (7-0) Henry Co. (7-3) (6-1) Clarksville (7-3) (5-2) North East (6-4) (4-3) Brentwood (5-5) (3-4) Rossview (5-5) (2-5) Dickson Co. (4-6) (1-6) West Creek (2-8) (0-7)

  17. What happened to Donovan Stewart? Has the Examiner gone under?
  18. I have not received any feedback yet. I know they were expecting to play a team that looked more like a Junior College than a High school.
  19. Clarksville @ Portland - Scrimmage - Today (May 6th)
  20. It's a shame to elude that the next CHS QB will gain his position by (politics). Actually it is downright insulting to anyone that knows the current front runner for the position. If he does in fact get the nod to be the next starter, it will be because of his: Size, Speed, Strength, and Ability. Not to mention his familiarity with the team and the system. I look forward to watching him lead this team and play hard for the next two seasons.
  21. Come on man- Banquets are more about parent egos then player recognition. Most of these young men care about their team and winning, while parents make a huge deal about banquets and senior gifts.
  22. He is a really good article concerning 7 on 7 as a form of exposure. It supports my view that it is good for teams in helping them grow as a unit, but offers very little to individuals looking for exposure. David Shaw: “I will never have a recruiting conversation with a 7-on-7 coach’ http://coachingsearch.com/article?a=David-Shaw-I-will-never-have-a-recruiting-conversation-with-a-7on7-coach
  23. Devilsden, Ft Campbell's High School definitely is a good route; great school and program. It seems like your assessment of the schools is pretty accurate, except for Clarksville (which is where my loyalties belong). West Creek is a great school (they have the best JROTC program in the city), but they have struggled with their football program, and not due to talent. I’m not sure why and don’t want to point blame, but they just lost their coach and have a lot of work ahead to establish their program. Good luck
  24. I haven’t done anything with them since my son has graduated, so I don’t know much about their current operations. But if the same coaches are in place, I believe that most High School coaches in the area would give them a full endorsement. I would recommend anyone moving into the area to fully vet the school they will attend and to understand their options with open enrollment and the academy program. We have 7 High Schools plus Ft Campbell, although all are good 4 have some definite advantages when considering football and at least one should be avoided like the plague.
  25. It's a combination of things. Mostly just a normal ebb and flow of players. The low numbers started with the middle school team. They used to turn players away due to a 50 player limit imposed by JR Pro. The last three years they haven't even come close to 50. As for the program, Coach Shelby runs a tough program and he does not dress players on Friday night unless they earn it during the week. This has eliminated the few who join the team just to wear the jersey and others who just aren't willing to put in the work.
