  1. Your post is correct on ALL points, and your hope is my hope. I just wonder what Smokin Joe is thinking. Would he consider this if he gets a call? I have my doubts but I sure want to know.
  2. Consider yourself joined in that feeling. Lol
  3. I agree but there are some sick hypocrites out there, and like I said, he's probably too smart to come back, but he is what we need. It won't happen because our administration doesn't care enough. He could energize the community and put football here in OR back where it belongs, but as odd as this sounds, some leaders don't want that. And a call from our AD to him will not take place.
  4. I agree with the idea "why would he come back". He would be a fool to consider it given the situation here, but I hope he does. And as far as the other issue, I'm sure those perfect and mistake free people like you, our AD, and the guy who will campaign for the job yet again, will bring it up regularly. Like I said, I hope we get him but I predict he's too smart to consider it, if given the opportunity. I would love to know what he's thinking.
  5. Coach Blade is a hard guy to get to know and is not a great "people person" BUT he is a very good football coach. If you have some talent, you're going to win. He will get a lot out of whatever talent you have. This is a good hire for your program. Good luck to your team and Coach Blade.
  6. He will never make that call for the reasons 3wiggle described. He knows who he wants and would rather have a guy with no prior head coaching experience than get someone who can get the whole community behind the program. I'm not sure we can ever get this program back to the glory days that we all remember and want but Smokin Joe can get it back close to how it was and QUICK.
  7. Finally someone who understands. I hate it that you're right but you are.
  8. Post #24 by 3wiggle answers your question.
  9. If you're right then we're stupid if we don't want him.
  10. You just hit the nail exactly on its head.
  11. You're right and I never understood that.
  12. I agree that it probably won't happen but given what he's recently done at Henry County, Trenton, and what he did here, the guy can still coach. We should try to get him we're too stupid at the top (or near the top) to try and he would probably be smart to stay right where he is anyway. The administration here isn't one that he would recognize as far as support for football is concerned.
  13. He turned Henry County totally around and made them a state power. He turned Trenton around immediately. He won more games here than anyone so if we don't call him we're just plain stupid. And I doubt we call because the person who should call wouldn't do it.
  14. Would he leave to come back to OR? I noticed he turned the Trenton program around in a year. He has a knack for doing big things but I doubt we could get him back here.
  15. Hire someone who will wake up this dead city and revive the interest in football. Also someone who will get the 'Ship fixed up and upgrade the football facilities at the high school. And let the person or persons who hire the next coach really care about OR Football...that excludes some current administrators.
