  1. just looking for storylines on the schedule - I havent read all 16 pages of this thread but I have read some of it - Havent heard much talk about Signal traveling to Bradley Central where Price coached for 5 years. Had 2 outstanding seasons there. Beat eventual State Champion Sevier county during one of his seasons. I'm POSITIVE this game is circled on his schedule. I follow district 5-AAA and hope I get a chance to see this one..
  2. The 2nd back they put in at the end of the game was against West backups - I understand from talking to some West fans before the scrimmage they were still missing some in track as well. I just dont see Mcminn with a kid that can break a game wide open as they had with Wells and then #5 the year before ( i dont remember his name ) Going to be a totally different team. They always play good defense there so that will keep them in games.
  3. Completely different team in Mcminn County. West DLINE dominated the line of scrimmage for entire first half of the scrimmage (1's VS 1's) #2 is a good back but the loss of Wells looks to be HUGE. Mcminn is lacking a "game changer" The past couple years they have had a kid that could score on ANY play. Didnt see that against West. Very athletic and well coached defensively. That gives them a chance to be very competitive against the rest of the District. Brutal schedule at the beginning of the year could have a big impact on the season.
  4. I would have loved to see McMinn and East Hamilton last year. Mcminn front 7 against East Hamitons HUGE O-Line and that running back. I think it would have been a great game. This year I'm not sure how good Mcminn will be defensively with everything they lost up front. I dont really have a team by the way, I have made my way around to all but Soddy
  5. Nobody has said much about Mcminn County. I know they lost alot, BUT back to back District Championships and 3 out of the last 4 makes them a favorite. I think to be the champ, you have tp beat them on the field. Until somebody knocks them off, they are the champs. They never get much credit in the offseason, which is probably why they play every year with a chip on their shoulder. Spring Practice just A FEW WEEKS AWAY!!
  6. This says alot! Standifer played on the worst team possibly in 5AAA yet throws for almost 2000 yds and the rushing yards are WAAAAY ahead of any other QB in that district. He is not going be the player Copeland was, I dont think, but he is going to be great asset for Damon and the Bears this year. I think Henrik for Cleveland is going to have a HUGE year. Another year for him and those athletes he has in that offense will really benefit him. Whcih one of those QB's is the one from EH
  7. The transfer from Soddy the plays QB for Bradley could very possible be the most "athletic" in the district. He has a good arm but is VERY mobile and can make some plays. Will be interesting to see him play with some better talent around him!
  8. the only ones i have heard of are Cleveland-Signal, Bradley-Rhea, Mcminn-Knox West. Anyone know when the spring practices are scheduled for the schools? are they all at the same time?
  9. I agree EH, Cleveland, Owls should be favorites for the top 3 spots...QB position is key to winning championships..I do want to point out the McMinn QB and the potential starter for Bradley have their share of experience. McMinnville QB started 12 games last year as a sophomore. He is a very smart player that doesn't make many mistakes or get his team in bad situations. He runs coach cagle's read offense very well. If the transfer from Soddy starts at QB for Bradley, he comes in with 3 years of varsity playing experience. He was by far the best athlete for Soddy. A lot to look forward to for these teams. I wish it started TOMORROW!
  10. I think he is nephew of the one that played @ UTC. Also has a younger brother that should be in high school sometime soon..
  11. I heard he was trying to get in to Carson Newman I think? If true, great get for Newman and its a good fit for Wells to.
  12. Knox County School Board dropped the ball on this. Lost a great coach but an even better person that just happen to make a mistake. Unbelieveable they let it get to this point. Good Luck to Coach Rang, I'm sure he will be fine!
  13. haha really goin out on a limb there. BOLD prediction
