  1. I don't think you will see any girls coming next year from out of county. As for the locals, I do believe there is at least one promising eighth grader coming in but not sure she'll make an impact next year. Regardless, next years team could be a special one. We will just have to see how it all plays out.
  2. And if you look in many of my posts on this subject you will see I have stated that " every year teams have to deal with injuries and other problems." And internal problems were not the reason the assistant coach left. I will not comment on the girls who left the team because I'm not exacly sure what happened in those instances.
  3. Many of your facts are wrong and mis-leading. You seem to be very close to the program and know so much about the squad but you sure don't sound like a fan. They have dealt with many things this year including 3 girls quitting, injuries, sickness, and the resignation of the assistant coach. But have I heard excuses? No. What I heard was the same thing that would have come out of any coaches mouth. Professional, collegiate, high school, and even middle school. But enough about that. The girls continue to battle everynight. Who knows how far they will go this year but regardless, if everything falls into place, and one of the girls who left the team this year returns, next years team will be a team to be reckoned with IMO.
  4. Great athlete. Great girl. And a very tough young lady.
  5. There were a couple of games, I believe two, that many upperclassmen were taught lessons for attitude and lack of effort. One of them left the team after one of these games. But to say KM is not a starter is completely false. As for your media question, I think I basically answered that in the first post. Injuries are a part of the game and every teams deals with them. As for AC, I believe if you check, shes started more games than not and has been a strong rebounder on both ends.
  6. Where do you get your information? The girl that tore her ACL a month ago was in fact a starter who missed all of last year with a labrum tear. It was a huge loss for Central both years. I believe she averaged right at 10 points a game as a freshman. Out of the other two girls you mentioned, one has been a starter in most of MC's games this season. She has been sick and could miss many more. And I make no excuses. Teams deal with injuries and setbacks every year. But that's the real truth.
  7. Yes I think I do understand. It is definitely an issue that needs to be addressed and high school programs need to get on board. Way too many talented young athletes are suffering on a daily basis. It seems like these kids today are going through surgery after surgery at such a young age. How much of this could be avoided by proper training, stretching, and conditioning? It's a problem that continues to hamper our youth and without something being done, it will only continue and even get worse.
  8. As it was mentioned earlier, it seems to be happening most of the time to very athletic and muscular girls. I can understand the athletic part as maybe these girls are pushing their bodies to the limit more so than other female athletes. I just do not understand why it seems so prevelant to be happening among very muscular girls. The girl I mentioned in my earlier post from McMinn Central fits the same criteria. 5'10"-5'11", very athletic, and very muscular. I am just thinking off of the top of my head but I can think of 5 girls who have had recent ACL injuries. All five differ in height. But all are very thick muscular girls and all of them stand out with their athleticism. None of them had weight issues and all come from programs with at least a fairly good weight training program. Troll, it just seems opposite to me. Seems like it would be happening to girls on exactly the other side of the spectrum. Why is this?
  9. As it seems like it is never-ending and almost a week to week occurrence, another girl has torn an ACL again. This week McMinn Central wing Kelsey Myers is the recipient. It is just a continuing problem and one that seems has increased tremendously in the last few years. What is going on?
  10. Too much talent on that team to be 7 and 5. Saw the game against McMinn. They play like they are terrified to make a mistake. They just need to go out and have fun. If they do they will have another successful year IMO.
  11. A few of the starters were on the bench and hardly played in either of the games at William Blount. I think there were some lessons being taught from the coaching staff. It was tough to watch but I think they got their point across. This is a young MC team that will go through some ups and downs as the year progresses but they are very talented as is CAK. Again my main concern about MC is their lack of conditioning. Most of them are gassed by the 4 or 5 minute mark of each quarter. Hopefully that will improve as the year goes by. Best of luck to both squads.
  12. This was a great test for both teams. Watching the game I felt like Central has no legs. They are not in the physical condition they should be in. I feel like CAK has very little depth. I saw an above post say that if CAK has Hooper they win the game. Not sure I agree with that at all. Yes she would have made a huge difference but a game changer I don't know. Neither team played to their capabilities but Central got the job done. Also someone said they thought CAK would win by 15 plus. That's almost laughable. Central is always good as has CAK in recent years. Not sure how you came to this conclusion. MC is loaded with talent as usual. They are young. But they are big, fast, and aggressive and I think they will be a tough team to contend with. Just my opinion.
  13. Here is my humble take on last nights game. I thought Both teams battled throughout. Lynn just had a great game and an unbelievable second half. Swafford is outstanding but I thought Myers did a good job on her before fouling out. Myers is just an athlete. Her offense looks a bit rusty because of the year plus off because of injuries. Wasn't she a post when she was a freshman? Looked like she is playing the wing now so that may take some adjustment as well. My point about MC is when her offense gets back to 100% along with the talent of Lynn, several veteran players, big post play, along with many talented freshman, Central will be tough to beat. Compliments go out to both teams. It was the first time I have seen both teams play this year. Great atmosphere and crazy fans from both sides. It was a fun game to watch. Good luck to both teams as I am sure they will both have outstanding years.
