  1. Scotts Hill has earned the respect of a Riverside fan right here! They have beaten Riverside twice and Union city which are to 2 of the top five teams in the state so I expect them to win a few at state hopefully upsetting some favorites such as Silverdale and FCS.
  2. FCS is 0-2 against Goodpasture so that doesn't help prove your point. One of the other teams is barely .500 so you have one team that may help prove your case. Other than that, schedules show you are 0-5 against Riverside at state. If you were going by odds at Las Vegas who do you think Vegas would go for? Then again, this is baseball so anything could happen!
  3. Friendship on FIRE until they get to state and have some competition against some real teams like Riverside, Silverdale, and Summerown.
  4. Riverside 25-2 over Booker T. Washington
  5. Riverside also went to the losers bracket and got beat in the championship by scotts hill. Riverside seems to be struggling at the wrong time.
  6. Riverside will not make it close to state playing like they have this past week. The wheels seem to have fallen off with the bats slumping and errors eating them up.
  7. I'm just talking smack now! haha I only hope both of us can at least make it this year. As I stated earlier r, most didn't expect Riverside to be at the level they have been playing the past 4 years so I think they will be happy just to get to the boro much less win it again.
  8. Maybe not single A but just Friendship as in years past. Why is it we didnt get to beat yall in boro last year?
  9. The difference between Friendship and Riverside is the 3 ships in a row so unlike you when Riverside does face a AAA team we do see the best pitchers because the AAA teams themselves want to test their pitchers. I know for a fact that RIverdale from Middle TN and other teams such as Bartlett in Memphis have wanted to play RIverside in previous years just for competition. Last year Riverdale specifically wanted to play Riverside to "try" and hit the best pitcher in the state at the time.
  10. Oh, and being realistic and all, I think we can agree that Riverside has had better players than Friendship Christian the past few years. Realistically, I dont see that being any different this year.
  11. Realistically, the forum Is a 4peat possible this year in single A??? We can argue the fact that Riverside has had some of the best pitchers in the state the past 4 years or 2 of the best hitters in the state all day long. Fact is, the title has been at Riverside three years running and I'm getting opinions on that issue?? My opinion is I would be surprised if Riverside made that happen but I dont really know if anyone can take it away!
  12. I don't doubt they are solid ball players and solid hitters, but I highly doubt they are 2 of the best 3 in the state. What SEC schools have offered? I would say there are quite a few AAA hitters who are better, but they face much better pitchers night in and night out then what Riverside faces You are one of the many that always wants to use the classification excuse as to why our players may not be up to state standards when it comes to being the best. Riverside, over the last 5 years has competed with the best teams in the state in and out of single A so your excuse has been overused and our record with teams outside of single A speaks for itself. We have put solid players into the college ranks over the last 4 years, and no they may not be playing SEC ball but the guys we have sent to the next level are also in the top rankings nationally playing at Bethel, Rhodes, and Dyersburg State. Also, if it wasn't for the tragedy of Stephen Gant last year, he would be playing at Vanderbilt, an SEC team, which is the best team in the country right now. So Riverside has been putting out players for four years and 2 of the top hitters in the state will be playing college ball if they choose to do so next year.
  13. The info on MaxPrep is only as good as the info put in. the statistical info on MaxPrep can be put in by coach's or dad's so I'm not sure I would take that for much. Don't know the boys they may be great hitters but don't base it just on what you see on Max Prep. Ok, so who keeps statistics that is good enough for you? Also, if you have players that have potential to play ball at the next level you will give your athletes a way to be seen and MaxPrep is a way to do that. Clearly, alot of the athletes have their info on MaxPrep for a reason and if your info isn't on their your coach or dad doesn't want to help further the possibility of the athlete playing at the next level. Anybody that is a fan of Riverside or that has played against Riverside could vouche for thos two hitters as solid so if you don't know the boys or haven't seen them play maybe you shouldn't be commenting on whether the info is only as good as the info put in.
  14. The info is from MaxPrep. Riverside has the number 2 and 3 hitters far as batting average at .580 and .516.
  15. Haha! You don't have to take my word for it! You can look it up for yourself. Unless they can forgo their senior year of high school they will not be drafted this year. haha. The two guys are just Juniors! The catcher leads the state and the nation in doubles this year as of last week.
  16. Riverside will have to out hit this year once we use the top 2 pitchers but having 2 of the top 3 hitters in the state shoudl help if the bats get going at the same time. Riverside's toughest test will be getting to state. Hopefully Riversides 15-2 record at state the past 4 yrs will be improved on this year!!! Lets go big blue and keep that hill rockin!!!!
  17. Correct, and my statement said the teams had been generally weaker. If you look at the schedule the team that had beaten Riverside was then beaten by Riverside to help them make the run to the title.. Truth is, it is anybody's game when you start getting into your 4th and 5th pitchers which is where Riverside was with with that one loss. Winning cures all whether you come out of the losers bracket or not. Fact is the title has been at Riverside 3 years in a row and it may well leave this year but that is why you play the game.
  18. My comment on the teams from east are from experience the past four years, and the teams have been generally weaker than Riverside. The competition should be better this year for the other teams if Riverside can make it because the talent has dropped off a little this year, far as pitching. Fact is, Riverside generally has made the other teams look like little league teams the past 3 years, and thats just fact Jack! The games will be better for everyone one to watch becasue I hate seeing blowouts.
  19. Riverside, I say, does have a descent chance again this year. Seems the teams from the East are usually very weak compared to the middle and west. Yeah, they may come in with impressive records but thats easy to do when you are playing cupcake schedules.
  20. Scotts Hill is'nt too shaby this year and has played well against Riverside! Seems Riverside may be feeling their groove towards the end of the season though!
  21. It would be a pleasant surprise for Riverside fans but very good for the team that can possibly take the crown to another town this year!
  22. Can Riverside make it to the championship for the fifth year in a row and win 4 out of the last 5 championships??
  23. Brooke Kennedy for Riverside. Riverside should be in the mix in the spring fling this year. Last year they rode her too much and wore her arm out for the tourny so their record will be decieving this year but if they make it to the tourny expect her arm to be strong and not over used, so she will be rode for the tourny and hopefully mow em down for Riverside's third straight appearance in the ship hopefully winning their 2nd state title in 3 years.
  24. I don't know if anyone was expecting a whole lot out of Riverside after losing, arguably, the best pitching rotation in high school baseball, but they are rolling along as 3 time state champions in consecutive years, seemingly under the radar to some of the posters on here. They haven't lost to a single A team this year and until the best gets beat the best has to be considered as RIVERSIDE!!! BTW, they have 2 of the top 3 hitters in the state this year and both guys are juniors...... so hopefully that will offset the extroardinary pitching those fans have gotten used to the past 4 years.
