As someone in Murfreesboro who was bored and watched your game last night, I have to admit, the refs up there SUCK! I have never seen such blatant disregard for a team in my life! I hope the team enjoys and relaxes during their bye week. Unreal! If I were Shad, I'd be doing nothing this week but filing a complaint with whoever it needs to be filed with!

To answer your question. Yes, Shad will coach at WB. His part of this investigation is complete, regardless of what anyone else is trying to say. First I will say that I am not sure who Wayne Armstrong thinks I am, but I am not whoever this "Chris" person is. Secondly, I will admit that I acted like a 2 year old with my insult and I shouldn't have even brought up his name. Lastly, it is obvious that there are those on here who are fiercely loyal to Shad and those that hate him. Whatever, to each his own. But I think it's time we get back on the subject at hand which is WB football and how the team looks, and how the parents and fans on here are feeling about THAT!

It's really good to see that there are better reporters / writers in Knoxville vs Rutherford County. The DNJ could learn quite a bit. Not only about how to properly write an article, but how to not continue to "insinuate" that there is still possible wrong doing on Shad's part. Congrats WB, you are getting a great coach and a great family! From what I understand some of his family traveled up today to meet everyone. While I hate it for Blackman, I am thrilled for your boys!

Something else everyone is overlooking. If Shad had actually done anything wrong, with Booster, Football, etc. funds, why is he still employed with Blackman High School? Why is he still a teacher there? "mykidsdad" was quick to say, "He got fired" when he obviously knows nothing about the situation at all. He was not fired. He still works there. Who coaches a team is up to the principal and if they don't want the coach they have, they do not have to have a reason to get rid of them. Their actual job as a teacher is an entirely different story, and since Shad has done NOTHING WRONG she can't get rid of him without a major lawsuit for wrongful termination. And just for the record, I am not the "Coach" or one of his "kids" just one of the many parents who have been a part of the "Reinstate Shad" group and will continue to defend him to help clear his good name, even if my son has lost his coach!

I wasn't the one who asked him to provide his name, I already know what it is. And I wouldn't bring his son's name into it if that wasn't the excuse he is giving to everyone as to why he is trying to ruin Shad's career. Stick to taking pics, you're really good at it.

Hope you do, and I hope you get to experience what our boys have for the last 6 years. If I had the ability to pack up my family and follow him, I'd do it no matter where he went. God, family, football, that's what he teaches and he not only talks the talk but he walks the walk, as do his wife and three daughters. Great great family, all the way around!

The board didn't ban him. That is another complete fabrication. He and Don Odom, the Superintendent of Rutherford County, have been at odds over this because the "investigation" was completed a few weeks ago but Don will not release the findings to the public. Shads arty called Angel McCloud yesterday and was informed "Mr. Shadowens did absolutely nothing wrong but until I get approval from Mr. Odom to release that information I am still under instruction to tell anyone who asks that the investigation is still open." When she was questioned by the local paper about her conversation with Shads atty she recanted what she told him. On the issue of the RCSO "investigating" they aren't. Yesterday the central office handed over their COMPLETED investigation for review to make sure they didn't miss anything. There is no "new" or "second" investigation. Coach Shad has remained silent on all of this because he knows what the truth is and knows he did nothing wrong. He feels the truth will eventually come out, however, that doesn't mean he is going to let certain people, (the president of the Blackman booster club) continue to slander his name. Bottom line is this; a principal can "fire" a coach of any sport at any time if they wish, with or WITHOUT any "issues" but she can't do the same thing with their actual employment with the school if there is no wrong doing. So answer me this, if Shad did something with booster funds or funds in the football account, WHY IS HE STILL EMPLOYED AT THE SCHOOL AND TEACHING THERE??? If he had done anything like that he would have lost BOTH jobs, Coach AND Teacher......

And here's another response to the same poster. "I'm not going to go into the personal attacks, because it's obvious you have no idea what you're talking about. As to the "rumor is" stuff.....that's all that is. But just to humor everybody, let's go down your road for a minute. You're saying all he had to to was "accept responsibility and punishment for the improprieties that were reported and he would still be coaching".... So he was supposed to have accepted responsibility for something he had ZERO control or responsibility over? The booster club and their funds are NOT the responsibility of the head coach. Just like Cat said earlier (who was Shad's BC Pres at Smyrna), Shad has never been involved with that aspect. So why are the same people that were responsible for the screw ups unaffected and now just spewing the party line and what they are told to say?"

"ThrowXaway" sounds a whole bunch like Wayne Armstrong and I'm pretty sure he has already been told to keep his mouth shut or he would be sued for slander. Hope no one has the ability on here to find out who's behind that screen name and get that proof to Shad.....hate to see a guy who doesn't make much driving a forklift get sued to trying to ruin a good mans name and career....

To quote an "insider" who is posting on the topic specific to Shad resigning. This is a response to someone who made several ignorant statements about a situation they know nothing about. Do your own research about this new Principal at Blackman before you pass judgement on Coach Shadowens. "Not true! This all started back in August when the principal had changed an assistant coaches schedule so that he would have to teach during last period and Shad went to her to see if she could change it so that the coach could travel with the team on some away games as well as use that period for football prep. The principal refused, shook her finger in his face and basically told him that she didn't care and that was the way it was gonna be. Made it clear that she was the boss. The article stated that the RCS investigation showed Shad of no wrongdoing, so why, when he has stated all along that he did nothing wrong would he accept responsibility and punishment. He also had trust in the booster club president that they were doing things the right way. Also, where have you seen that he has thrown a fit and said a bunch of stuff that he regrets to the newspaper? All he has done is state that he has done nothing wrong and that the principal had made it clear that she didn't want him coaching, other than that he has pretty much remained quiet. It sounds more like if there were any improprieties that it was booster club, not Shad, therefore it would fall more on the booster club presidents shoulders. Which is fast becoming clear as to why he (booster club president) was against the community fighting for Shad and asking for answers and investigations into this matter."

Shad left because he had no other option. Period. In the state of Tennessee resignation in lieu of termination is still perceived as a termination. The principal is a power hungry woman who has no business running this school. Do your research people! The last school she was the principal of, the coach, 21 years as a coach, was also forced to resign. SHE has a history of running off great coaches! Shad did NOTHING wrong, he wasn't looking to go ANYWHERE! So, if you want to show your support a facebook page has been created "Coach Shad Supporters" and there is a meeting tomorrow night at the Armory behind Go USA in Murfreesboro at 6:30. Show up and support Coach Shadowens! He deserves it!

Um no....not at all with Smyrna and he was lied to about his contract with MTCS. It's not always so simple. Shad has just always taken the higher road and chosen not to slam the place he's leaving. Another example of a good man.
