They do realize they have potential and that can be deadly. It can also be good if harnessed. That junior class my hate losing more than they like winning. I hope they understand you must play the game and not just show up for it because it could be a long season if they don't.

So you lost to Peabody because Akin couldn't run. Peabody scoring 42 had nothing to do with the loss. And Peabody did score 42 and that is a fact.

TCA did throw it around and that is not the reason they didn't win a state championship. They couldn't stop anybody on defense. They just got outscored in the playoffs. Defense wins championships at any level of football not running the ball.

Winn had one pick six his freshman year. It just happen to be against UC and at a terrible time. The pick six just doesn't happen very often. Secondly, the lions are not built for ground and pound. I believe they will run it because Rang realizes you have to be able to run the football to open up the pass. But in Dresden's case this year the pass will open up the run.

Dresden will be able to throw it around this year. They have several kids that can catch it. Scoring will not be a problem. I just hope the defense is as good as I am hearing.

Heard winn was not going to be there because of baseball tournament but i have been wrong before.

I don't know how much team speed they will have but I do know they are going to throw it all over the place. They will have several guys to throw it to and they all have decent speed and can catch it. The pass can be very hard to defend in high school football when you can throw it and catch it. I know hog and yso are freaking out with this post but I think Dresden football is going to be really exciting next year. I think they will be able to score with anybody. If the defense is as good as some people think this could be a great year.

Unfortunately you are right yso. It is mainly the parents of the these kids telling them how great they are. This years team will look totally different with Dresser at QB. They will pass first and run second and that might upset a couple of parents whose kids were the focal point last year. He brings so much more than just his ability to throw the football. Natural leader with unbelievable work ethic. I just hope they can put the team ahead of their own stats. It is about winning and the individual awards will come. The further you go in the playoffs the more attention your team and players will get.

Heard Dresser and Quincey went to a football showcase. Both did extremely well. Dresser got an invite to the rivals invitation only event in Atlanta. He will get the chance to compete against some of the best qbs in the south. Can't wait to see the 2015 lions in action!!

I agree that the people of Dresden should support the program win or lose but the fact is people support a winner no matter what the sport is. As stated above those fans are bandwagon fans but they still pay to get in the games. What people don't want to understand is that Dresden was in the toughest district in the state when they were in AA. The drop down to A helped them more than anything with winning games. You take the teams of the past 3 or 4 years and they don't win in the old AA district. I have supported the lions for over 35 years and yes it is more enjoyable when they are winning. I look forward to the next few years because I believe Coach Rang is a good one. How long will he stay I don't know but Hodge only stayed 2 so if he comes back next year he has tied him.

Head coach is staying. Assistants can always be up in the air depending on other job opportunities. Can't wait to see the 2015 lions take the field. Let the air show begin even though yso and hog can't stand the pass.

I agree with you yso. I don't blame the kids but their parents. They are told at home how great they are and it is all about them and not the team. Winn coming back will provide leadership and hopefully that team concept of just winning and individual stats will come. If the egos continue to be a problem Dresden will be a bust for sure. I have been around these kids their whole lives and they are for the most part good kids but I have seen first hand what a leader Winn is and these kids will follow him, just hope he comes home.

The LIONS will compete for FIRST in the district. They will beat UC and hopefully play Peabody well. With Winn we will score with anybody. The big question is can we stop anybody. Defense will be the weak spot but if that phase of the game improves look out. I know all the talk is uc and peabody but that will change when the lions wear some people out.

Not bold just keeping it real. UC has been great the past two seasons but contrary to their belief they will drop off dramatically. Peabody on the other hand will be very good again and should be with all those athletes. It was great to see UC and Peabody win the state titles but don't think for a minute that yall are unbeatable next year.

I hear he is coming back to Dresden. If he does the lions will be very tough offensively. A lot of weapons on offense. The district will be tough with trenton, uc and lake county but dresden will be as good as any of them. The big question will be can dresden stop anybody on defense. They may win games by outscoring everybody.
