Who will apply for this job? Could be a good job with the right person.

Been waiting 20 years for the right person so far. This place is the birthing child of Karns and Farragut but it definitely looks like Karns is the mother of this place. I'm working on something right now called the Dumpster Fires of East Tennessee Football and will put it out here like I do Barney's Favorites in a couple of day's.

He has told me he has interest in possibly coaching again. He did not mention anywhere specific. I doubt he would repeat the GCA experience. A lot of memories and emotions there for him.

I went and watched them his last two years and at the time I wasn't impressed with his offense after being used to watching Maryville all those years blister teams when GQ was there. As time has gone on I've actually watched a couple of teams do the same with his offense and I was pretty impressed. Last year I watched Lenior City just destroy Heritage when the coach they ran off was running that. I also watched MTCU in the state championship game look like a road grader busting one big play after another. I know a lot of people would laugh about this from Maryville but we have the right people in place to do that to prefection. Our offense has great players but gets bogged down very easy on a costly penalty or just a hambone offensive call. Anyways McCamey would make someone a good O.C. in my opinion.

Boo is an incredible athlete but where you hurt Oakland is bewteen the tackles. Sisa wasn't a power back but had a big oline, the other teams that have had success against Oakland largely did it bewteen the tackles (outside of Riverdale)

The way they stopped him from breaking anything and keeping him check was why I picked Oakland to win. The same with East Robertson and their 3,000 yard rusher. I figured if they could beat York the way they beat other teams this year then they were my choice. The rain could or messed them up but the kid that decommitted to Kentucky yesterday might should reconsider that move because he isn't an SEC football player.

  4. 2023 has came to an end and I ended up with record of 430-104 for a 80.5 percent.  Last year I was 384-103 for 78.9 percent. That's not to bad if you think about it. Doing this every week without the aid of any newspapers or a Murphy Fair Book to even go by the past two years. I'll put my trophy up to look at all winter and work on crossing the 85 percent mark in 2024.

I agree and that has been an issue here for a long time. We simply don't have the linemen of that stature year in and year out. Not a dig at our previous or current players, because the play hard and do a good job overall.  but they simply don't have the builds of the lines that the top teams have. And that makes it tough.

The size of those lines in the game last night and the McCallie game says it all. Oakland has repeatedly come up with lines every year we have played them. This new team Houston was one of the very first teams I've seen that made Oakland look small. They controlled that game up front.

All of that recruiting and Oakland forgot to recruit a QB. Sisa outplayed the DCA and Red Bank transfers big time. Running the Wing T this day and age is silly as well with all the talent at your disposal.

You can get away with it when your team can over power teams but they found one tonight they couldn't.

    I hope Alcoa's DONE with QB transfers.........sigh.

Maryville and Alcoa have done well with the QB's that came up through their system. Last year our coaches fell in love with an athlete as they say that came form a 1-9 program and treated the kid that should have been the man like a red headed stepchild and made him sleep out on the back porch then he finally quit. Well they got a good taste of why the other school went 1-9 and I never want to live that situation again. I totally agree BC.

Proud of West for finding another way to win and go back 2 back. Had to replace 16 starters from last year and these kids just would not be denied.

Hats off to Page for fighting till the end. I really thought West was gonna win by a 31 to 14 margin the way the game was going, but they shut West down and changed offense up to score and find success against the West defense.

Nonetheless West won and is the 2023 State Champs!

    Go Rebels!

How many seniors on the starting lineup do they lose after this year. Just so surprised losing 16 and started off beating Bearden.
