Completely forgot about Volunteer. After last night I'm certain Carpentre will be the region champion and that 138 is the toughest weight in the region.

Dobyns Bennett will dominate Morristown East. East will win 2 matches max unless DB gives them some forfiets. Jefferson and TN High is going to be high intensity-high level wrestling. The winner will then face a basically fresh DB team. I dont see either team stopping the Indians in the finals but Jefferson is my pick to win tonight against THS though. As for a team race at individuals Science Hill is going to be on a mission. Science Hill, Dobyns Bennett, Jefferson County, and Tennessee High will be duking it out for top 4. The semi-finals matches are going to be interesting. Obviously there will be a few outliers such as Bynum and Broyles like newcoach said. Other than that 85 percent of the finals will consist of those 4 teams.

Any predictions on the regional duals and individuals?

How is the db vs ths match going?

I was just curious as too who everyone thought to be a darkhorse that was not currently ranked. I didn't ask about the quality of the ranks. I'm just glad someone is attempting to do rankings in general.

Anyone to look out for that isn't ranked(maybe should be)? I just want to learn about more than the "top 6" guys in a ranking. There are 32 guys in a state bracket and upsets will happen. Who should I watch and why??

I could see many Jefferson County wrestlers training in the off season(Hux, English, Townsend etc.) considering they are one of the powerhouse programs in the north east. As for MoEast and MoWest, they probably only have their golden boys wrestling(Williams and Broyles). Its evident that they are the only kids from their teams getting better over the summer. I moved here from Everest, Florida last year and I went to go watch Jefferson, East, West, and Cocke County wrestle every once in a while durring the season. Obviously, Jefferson has a bright future with their youngsters and East and Cocke don't seem to have trouble filling their line ups but have serious trouble with depth(besides Williams). Mowest had probably about 8 kids on their team and only one(Broyles) go to state. I would like to hear which Lakeway area kids have been on the grind this offseason.

I moved here from inverness florida. I posted asking about the competition level in this area and i believe marshiebaby said he same thing about science hill being the only competitive team around here but nothing about individuals.

I moved here almost a month and a half ago and I still have not heard anything about wrestlers to watch in this area. People have given me several teams to look out for, but I would love to hear about some indviduals. Thanks. Jake Spencer

Really? What part of Florida? Also is that all thats around here? Thats pretty disappointing. Back home just at districts we had amazing cometition, then it got even better at regions, and then we had the State Championships. It was alot of fun to keep up with that. I've actually heard of a few tough kids from Morristown and Jefferson when I was talking to my dad(who lives in dandridge) about wrestling around here a couple of days ago. They said wrestling was not very popular over there and everyone is worried about football. I wish I could remember the names, but he said they could do things on the State level. I'm not sure if that means anything up here like it did in Florida. lol

Obviously you have some tough competition coming from everywhere, but where is the toughest? Who is the toughest? I just moved here from florida so i dont really know who to watch. I never really coached(which i do not plan on doing) back home I always just went to tournaments and kept up with the local team. Im honestly just a fan of high school wrestling. It would be great if maybe someone could give me a region by region breakdown and tell me about some of the tough kids to keep an eye out for. Im not possitive but I believe I live in the AAA Region 1 area. I live in Johnson City and would like to know about some of the wrestlers in this region and then about the wrestlers out of region.
