  1. If this is true, when would be the last time the state of TN would have two or more guys in the McDonald's AA game. Also, for argument's sake, let's say in the last 15 years (1990-present), how many AA's have we had from TN? thanks in advance
  2. Toinemac and Mentaltownballer, just wanted to bump this back up to front so in case you guys missed it could see and comment. I was just wondering if you guys had any info. regarding maybe contacts from Buzz, etc. Thanks for your time.
  3. I think that sums it up for everyone. Also, I've heard a lot of Siegel, and some Oakland, and a Lebanon(by me and blue06), but what about Riverdale? I know there are two R'dale fans who seem to have high confidence (but they're fans so why not?) How about you "outsiders", think R'dale can make serious run to knock off Oakland and then (most likely) Siegel.
  4. I understood that Buzz was at bolivar yesterday or today one recruiting Willie Kemp. I've heard you, btown, say good things about him, and was wondering where his interest was with UT right now. I think I remember a post where you said he was very interested in playing with Tyler Smith. Also, to Memphis area folks or whoever, how about guys like Thad Young, Brandon(I believe?) Powell, Pierre Niles(?), and prob. a couple of more I've left out. Do any of those guys consider going to UT to turn the program around tempting or most of those guys Memphis Tiger guys all the way unless they decide to leave the state. I was just wondering. I've always thought that'd it be great to have all this great in-state talent stay home and go to the state school and become a dynasty. If the Vols could get Jamont Gordon to go with Smith, that'd be a start. Then I think it'd be great to get several of those aforementioned guys to come as well. Have most of the guys on roster from the state, with them playing with pride and for a name for thierselves would be great. I would esp. like to take those 3 Memphis guys I named earlier along with Brandon Wright(which would never happen), put them with Chris Lofton and Major Wingate and see Tennessee make a run and prob. go deep in the NCAA in a couple of years or so.
  5. Although hard sometimes, I agree. I don't really have a fondness for white co. but I was one of the biggest fans for them in '98 and '99 win they were at state. Once things go past the district and the region it becomes a lot easier to pull for our normal district rivals. Especially when they're going up against the cocky nashville and memphis teams.
  6. That's what I'm sayin, btown sees it. Upsets happen, but not quite to this extreme. I love district 7-aaa, but some posters seem to think that the world revolves around this district when it doesn't. There is no way, that in one year, a Warren Co. team and a White Co. team should beat a top 10 (once top ranked, correct?) team. Truly good teams do not allow that to happen. thats all I'm trying to say. I still say Siegel is a year away and they're a good team, but not quite state worthy just yet. They'll compete in region(prob. win district) and go to the substate, but seeing them much further than that seems a little much for now. again, i'm not trying to bash your beloved Siegel team. So in your following posts, don't take that angle.
  7. Just for the recored, blue, are you saying that b/c I picked your team, or do you truly believe lebanon can make a serious run. I've got a feeling about them, so my pick was sincere, but I was just wanting some clarification.
  8. Hey man, I'm just stating my opinion like everyone else does on here. Let 'em, I'm not saying stop supporting your team b/c of whatever. Again, just my thought. If I'm wrong, ya'll can let me hear it, that's cool. But I have no bone to pick with Siegel. I have been around and seen a lot of basketball, so my opinions are not just out of left field all the time. However, with that said, I am know for stepping out on limbs. (hence the lebanon pick) which by the way, oakland, you don't think a lebanon win would be considered an upset?
  9. No, I'm not a Siegel hater. I have a lot of "love" for Oden. I played for his dad on an AAU teams about 6 yrs. ago, a team with guys like Crawford bros. from Oakland, Labrian Lyons and Onwu from 'dale, etc. I think it would be cool for them to go to the show and get this district back like White Co. did 6-7 yrs. ago. I just however try and seem realistic as much as possible on here and say that Siegel is a good team, but I'm not sure their ''elite" material...yet. But again, I'll say that next year, just might be that team's "moment".
  10. True, gator, but if Siegal were as "big time" as this board seems to think, there is no way that they'd get beat by a warren co. team who loses at home on senior night to dekalb co. I mean sure "warren co. was playing lights out, it was there night, etc., but if Siegel were the real deal, they would not have allowed that to happen. Do you think White Station, or Jackson Northside or Bradley C., etc. (pretty much any AP top 10 team) would have came down and lost a game to a one win in district in two years team? i don't think so, but that could come back to coaching.
  11. Just my quick two cents... Siegel fans can enjoy the district as they try and make the run, but I think some of the Siegel fans need to get their heads out of the sand and realize their team is still prob. a year away. They are good, but not worth their ranking. They will compete in the region, but we will not see them in the state this year. I think we will next, but not this year. They are really undisciplined and not well coached. They do everything on talent, and that doesn't always cut it, esp. as things will get tougher. So with that said: Siegal vs. Lebanon Oakland vs. R'dale Oakland vs. Lebanon (I'll take the upset with the coaching, just for kicks)
  12. Center (which btw, i know who you really are, we graduated together) My proposal about middle school teams uniting WILL pay huge dividends down the road. You can bank on that. I think the Sparta fans on here would agree with that, as well as possibly the Cookeville fans. As far as the elem. teams, yes their best players would be taken off of them to be put on the "all county" team, but the elem. teams would still exist. The kids at the schools would still try out, etc. and it would still be an honor to play for your home school. The overall talent in the (cough*waste of time*cough) county tourny would be down, but the comparative talent level would be pretty even. Soooo, in the end, what you have is: 1- A team of 12-15 of the best players in the 7th and 8th grades on one team playing guys they will face in high school and so forth. 2- You will still have 6 county schools w/ 5th-6th and 7th-8th graders playing one another with however many per team (would of course vary at each school) and 3-You would still have your jaycee's for guys who either: *did not make their elem. school team *kids who play elem. ball and just want to play more bball *and guys not playing high school who just want some good ol' street, undisciplined ball
  13. Hard to pick against coach keil when you're discussing him vs. warren co. He knows most of the guys on the team(atleast the seniors) and can expose their weakenesses. Not to mention one of the best scouts(via tape) I've been around. I think he will win the game for the sole purpose that he is in a different class coaching talent wise than the current WC staff. (although I want to say congrats to the staff for a couple of huge wins these last two weeks) It is in McMinnville, and with the recent momentum, the fans will be loud and into it, so I like Warren Co. to keep it close with Lebanon pulling it out late, a lot due to better coaching down the stretch in a close game.
