  1. Just wanting to know his high school.
  2. I saw on ESPN.com that it was announced some guys were already selected for the game. I know TN had several finalists, and was wondering if there was any word on who made the final cut yet. Thanks.
  3. Guys, I hate to be condenscending all the time it seems but as someone who knows and has spoken to Bobby Luna several times, one of the more respected coaches in the mid-state, I can honestly say that Ryan Smith is a darn good coach, and will in due time, have success. However, you guys continue to act like this team has talent and its the coaches fault which would be true if that were the case. But this team just simply does not have talent. Like I've said before, Majors and Glenn could play ROLES on some other teams in the district, but are not stars. Weir will be good in future as he's a project right now. So in other words, what you are getting now, winless in district play, should be expected and thats just the truth.
  4. not to argue, but i have to disagree. Wood will not play college ball, period. Colleges don't need guys who can just outjump people but nothing else. Weir, its possible, but it'll take the right coaching. I think Ryan Smith can provide that but will situations allow this kid a chance. That being said, if Weir's cousin Reese Bishop didn't go anywhere to play, then I have a hard time believing Weir will too. Weitzel, not a chance....but i will add a YET. He needs A LOT of coaching and needs to add A LOT of strength. Again, its possible for this kid to turn it around with the right coaching, but I've seen him around and he looks no bigger, as far as weight room goes, so thats gonna be his key.
  5. Ok, I think you misunderstood me. I never said that Glenn or Majors were heading to college next season to play, but I AM saying that these two are the best two players on this WC team, with the most talent and the most bball smarts. Therefore, if this team is going to win any games in district, these two will have to "go off" in order for that to happen. Also, I don't know about having or not having the drive, but I can assure you there is NO ONE on this team who has talent to play at the next level so I'm not quite sure who you could even possibly be referring to.
  6. i think the real Warren Co. team is showing up now after creaming cupcakes early on. They have the right coach just lack talent right now but that will build in years. This team can't win many games when Glenn and Majors aren't on and from all I've seen/heard, Majors doesn't seem to want to shoot as much.
  7. hey thanks a lot guys. I appreciate the updates. If anyone has any more to add or any comments to make, I'd love to hear it.
  8. i was just wondering if anyone could provide some good info regarding the games this weekend. I know there was a lot of good talent there and was wondering how TN's team matched-up and performed in their matchups. Also maybe talk about some of the big stud player's performances against some of the other good talent. I did see the Bolivar score where it seemed they played a tough game.
  9. you are right. good luck tom. night
  10. haha, mr. bro., I have strong ties to WC media and if there was any backboard shattering, I'd know. and this is all stupid, your reasons for Wood's "talents". The guy has came along way since even last year. But your crazy. I've heard Warren Countians think this team is world-beaters but this team isn't even in the ballpark of some past teams.
  11. yeah i agree with you there. I'm actually pretty good friends of Jimmy's dad and have kept with little Jimmy thru the years. He's doing pretty well for himself and he's def. one of the better players in the district. I'd put my money on Oden in this one, but I was just speaking about Majors for this year. WC will need him to be clutch.
  12. I will add this. If Warren Co. is going to have a good team this year, they are going to have to depend on their best player to be willing to take games over: Brooks Majors. In the game I saw them play, he seemed he wanted to pass a lot and wasn't ready to take the game over like he can. If he starts doing that, then this team will have some success.
  13. haha, you are insane if you think adam wood is better than adcock. This guy has gotten better I'll give you that, but he didn't know what varsity ball smelled like a year ago. He didn't even play that much until this year, not even while he growing up. I mean if it's b/c he can dunk a ball, oh well, haha, dunking doesn't make you a good player. And as far as the point total, I can understand scoring that much playing crappy teams and when you get the ball NEVER looking to pass. I'm not hating, I"m just saying.
  14. I've seen this Warren Co. team play vs. Lincoln Co. and I can tell you that they're not that good yet, although I like Coach (ryan) Smith. This team has put up some lofty offensive numbers against some sub-par opponents at best (Moore Co., Cannon Co., Dekalb Co.) Although (I didnt see it but heard they played pretty well against Smyrna and Coffee Co.....neither of which are Siegel). I have no idea where this team stacks up in District 7 yet, not until they play a few better opponents, so we'll just have to wait and see. With that said, Martin did play some pretty good defense but is not really a threat to score at all. Weitzel is not district ready to play yet by any means. Still to soft, but a former WC post has began to work with him, so towards Feb. he could get a lot better heading into next year. I don't know about Wood. He's benefited with some size in those early games but I don't think his scoring will continue in district play. But we shall see... My pick, Siegel humbles this team a little Fri. night with a win, but I think Coach Smith will help this team get better, and I look for bright things in future.
  15. Well although I know you have to take care of business in order to be in the playoffs, I think it's unfortunate for those teams w/ 6+ wins to not be playoff bound. But I just wanted to say that I currently do not like the playoff formats for football, as I think it is to easy to make them when 4 teams from each region make the playoffs. In a region with 6 teams, the top 4 would obviously make it, so that would mean that it is very possible for a team to win just 2 games all year (they must be in the region) and go to the playoffs with a 2-8 record. that's pathetic. I think we should take out one week of the football playoffs, especially since so many guys need to get to basketball anyways, and just allow the top 2 teams from each region to go. All that would do is make one less round and one less week. The c'ships would be played the week before Thanksgiving so everyone could enjoy the holidays. This would also put more emphasis on the season to and cut out this crap where a team has a losing region record and still gets to go to the playoffs. your thoughts?
  16. I'll go Tullahoma to in this one, but close. And hey THE SQUAD, I was in Gainseville last week to...unfortunately Still had a good trip. I assume you are from McMinnville?
  17. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/preps/footb...005-super25.htm Here's USA today's super 25 list. They have Lakeland, Fl on top with Hoover, AL just behind. For UT fans, you'll recognize Hoover as the place where Wes Brown came from this past recruiting class. Several, Southeast schools represented, including Springdale, Ark. who supposedly have the "Springdale 5"....five potential big time college recruits, including QB Mitch Mustain who recently committed to Arkansas and an OL that UT was after, but is leaning to Notre Dame, Bartley Webb.
  18. Yeah man, I go to UT. if your Jay Walker's son, then I've never met you, but I know some about you when I worked some over there by talking to your dad. He told me to get in touch with you while I was up here. I don't want to reveal my name on here or my e-mail addy (for no particular reason), but when you talk to your dad again, ask him who the guy in high school a couple years ago was that was on the radio with Bryan and Rob on the basketball show, then search me at UT's homepage and e-mail me. Look forward to talking to you.
  19. hey kellraiser, this is a certain former pre and post game basketball radio guy that worked with you recently, haha. I tried e-mailing you last week sometime, but whenever you can, give me a holler, would love to talk to you bout this team and WC sports in general. Hard to keep up with all the things going on up here in Knoxvegas. (well i do read rob's articles, but we both know just how in-depth they are haha. J/K rob!)
  20. You just have to win two region games to qualify for playoffs, correct? So a 2-4 record earns the 4th spot (out of 6) for the region? If so, who are the Pioneers going to take? I'm gonna doubt they get Lincoln and Cookeville. I've heard Franklin Co. is on the rise with some good talent this year so can the Pioneers knock off both Cumberland and Coffee to get in? I'm gonna say no, but I think they can and should beat Sequatchie and I have no idea about Tullahoma but they have been bad recently so i'll make that one a toss up, giving them a 4-6 record which would be pretty incredible, and I'll give the pioneers one of those two region games so that puts them at 5-5...and thats worth the playoffs right there (in the fan's hearts). would be quite the turnaround.
  21. I think Warren co. has a good shot to win again this Friday and make it two in a row. And this is definately long overdue and wonderful for the kids who've worked hard the past few years. But with that said, this team is far from turning over a new leaf. All the possible talent still isn't out there, and the competition will improve A LOT as the season progresses. (no offense bradley, and w.c. has been in your boat a lot before). Even if Warren does hang on and beat Dekalb this week, Lincoln Co. will be a huge reality check(despite the blow out home loss to Franklin last week). With that said, other than these first two games, and maybe Sequatchie Co., i don't see the Pioneers going much more than 3-7, but given the past 6 years, thats as good as the playoffs for Pioneer faithful.
  22. Yeah I think so man. Give me a call when you're in town. If I go to the game, I might hitch a ride. I'll see/talk to you then. Take it easy.
  23. haha, that's a good one. But as for the subject. I must say I'm a little surprised thus far with the success of my Warren Co. boys. They have some talent, but they were very young, and I didn't know if the senior leadership was there or not. But they're getting it done. However, after tonight's Lebanon game, WC will have to face R'dale and Blackman so we'll see where they stand for the stretch run and the tourny.
  24. Your teammate for several years. You know man, you and I are two of those sorry players who don't qualify to be called soccer players because we didn't travel year 'round all the time. haha (tho, if memory serves me correct, we did have a traveling team about every year, but oh well)
