  1. Watch out for the underdogs this year. Jackson Co. with a new coach they could be stronger this year. Cannon Co. has already proved they can play ball, look at the big win against those rather fast Taft Youth Center boys. They beat them bad. That is usually pretty hard to do. Jimmy Maynord could take a group of monkeys and train them to play football. I have watched him take teams to the playoffs since I was in elementary school. I watched him take the Upperman Bees to the semifinals 10l years or so ago. It rained, it sleeted and it snowed all in one game but those players played with all of the intensity that high schoolers had. He is one of the best, if not the best coach, in this region. Watch out for him to become a college coach at some point. He would make a great one!!!! 1. Smith Co. 2. Westmoreland 3. Cannon Co. 4. York or Upperman 5. Jackson Co.
  2. WHO ARE THE TEAMS WITH WINNING RECORDS IN ALL CLASSES THAT WILL NOT HAVE A PLAYOFF SPOT
  3. Playoffs for the first time in 7 years with 1st year head coach Sam Brooks. The town of Baxter will see the turn around in the next few years. Coach Wright brought back the conditioning in his short stint at Upperman and now Coach Brooks is building on that foundation. There are some good athletes at Upperman they just need some more motivation and guidance.
  4. In county bragging rights Upperman vs Monterey Upperman vs Smith Co. Seems to be a rivalry because the Bees want to defeat their former coach. Both games are within close driving distance so they usually have big crowds. thumb FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE IS ALMOST HERE!!! ARE YOU READY?!!!!!
  5. Yea we will see how funny it is when the Bees come and knock your helments off your heads in the fall , we don't do our talking with our mouths were GOING TO do it with our pads, and by the final score. You guys are going to have a rude awakening by Brooks Offensive and Fosters Defensive calls this year and all the rest of the great coaching staff we now have at Upperman. thumb [HUSTLE, HIT, AND NEVER QUIT!] -C.C #9
  6. Upperman might be a surprise this year guys and ladies New coach won't help. How about 4 new coaches . Smith co. Upperman York Westmoreland Jackson Co Cannon Co. This is how the region will fall : thumb
  7. I Noticed on the excel page Upperman was still listed as Region 4-AAA. The Bees are now in Region 4-AA.
  8. Jimmy Maynord coached at Upperman from 1995-1998. Alot of players in the past years have wanted to beat him just to prove a point. There is a little bit of unfinished business for them. Coach Maynord also took with him Coach Tackett and his son to play at Smith Co. There is always going to be that wanna win for bragging rights to this scenario. Just good ole trash talking spirit!!! I hope this answers your question. The win for Upperman is a pride thing and will probable continue for years as it has. The boys playing now remember Coach Maynord from watching him from the sidelines as Junior high players and younger.
  9. Upperman Bees vs Monterey Wildcats-always heated-In County bragging rights Upperman Bees vs. Smith Co. Owls-who wouldn't want to beat their past coach Both of these games bring in large crowds with heated emotions from both sides
  10. Don't under estimate the Bees in 2005. The last 3 years record has not been as pretty as the team would have liked but yes they have gotten stronger. This was because Coach Wright put something back into the program that has been gone since Coach Maynord left. Practice, weights and respect for the coaches and other players. thumb Everyone was treated equally, if you did the crime you did the time!!! The hunger for a winning season is there and I believe alot of people are going to be surprised. Monterey is the first game and oh yeah, the W is going to be in the Bee column this year. GO BEES!!!
  11. Upperman High Schools new head football coach is Sam Brooks. He is currently the softball coach at Cookeville High School, but he has also coached golf and football. He also played football at Tenn Tech. Also they hired Brian Chambers as an assistant coach. He played for Coach Brooks while at Cookeville High School and in the past has been an assistant football coach for the Upperman Junior High.
