  1. Defense and Coaching are the highest priority at this point.
  2. I don't think that with the bracket set up. CAK and Carter cannot play in the finals.
  3. AA, I think Alcoa is a good match up with Carter. If the Tornadoes can dictate the pace of play and not turn the ball over, there could be a shocker in 3AA.
  4. Reynolds was MVP and deservedly so. Knock down shooting. Campbell had 17pts and 15 rebounds. Defense was the difference.
  5. Q, I didn't mention Hutch's name or refer to him at all. I think you took a big stride there. IMO Catholic is a better rebounding team and CAK is a better defender on the floor If Catholic wins the rebounding by a great margin I suspect they will win. If CAK stays relatively even in the rebounding category I think they will win. As I stated in my original post I could be 0-2 at the end of this with my predictions No slight intended or implied to Hutch.
  6. If the adage Defense wins game, I would say Fulton and CAK. just my guess. I think both games will be really close and I could go 0-2 easily.
  7. Irish over Maryville and Alcoa by 11 over Fulton?! Is that correct? If so, Go District 4AA
  8. Campbell dropped 38 on Grace last night ( including a boomer), it is either a school record or tied for it. Scored 10 of 13 in OT. That's without 3 starters ( Reynolds, Cole Smith, Cerny). Again, hope Luke Smith is ok, saw him in cast.
  9. Congrats to Catholic. The Irish dictated the tempo and style they preferred. CAK will have Reynolds, Cerny and Carter back by District play. Should be quite interesting. I will add this commentary after watching CAK,Alcoa and Catholic in District 4AA, I am convinced that we will make some noise in the Region. It would be great to see a District 4 Region Final. Also, hope Luke Smith is ok, great kid.
  10. AB , Sorry you couldn't make it. No dunks, Alcoa made sure of it. Game was very physical. Hunter Reynolds may be out for a while with a concussion. He hit 5 3's before getting hurt. Pray for his recovery. I thought Alcoa played hard tonight, but CAK had 4 players in double figures and Campbell led with 21. Ogle (sp?) had 24 for the Tornadoes. Lots of Length and Athleticism at Alcoa, but seem to struggle with pressure and candidly composure. Final 67-52 CAK. Again, pray for Hunter. He is a fine young man and great basketball player. We are going to have to find ways to win without him for a while I suspect. Hope I'm wrong.
  11. Good post RB, I generally agree with your assessment . GP might be a sleeper. Maryville is solid but I'm not sure they are playing well at the moment. Bearden has surprised me, better than I thought. Good post
  12. Wells is a great coach. He is worth 10 Pts a game. Catholic is a big physical group. It did strike me that the Irish only really have a couple of Basketball Players and the rest are Football kids playing Basketball. This is not a knock on the team, but sometimes it really shows and I thought that was the case Friday night. Q, what do you think?
  13. Thanks AB, enjoyed meeting you as well.Lots of young players out there tonight. Future looks bright for District 4AA!
  14. Alcoa, He is a Senior. The only one they have with experience. He has boomed about 5 or 6 this year. He tried to against Hamilton Heights (Ado) and got it smacked away ! Lots of respect for Alcoa in all sports. Just hope everyone stays healthy and does their best.
  15. Here is a highlight from the Scott vs CAK game
  16. Alcoa has great athletes and always tough. Should be a good game Friday Night
  17. Didn't see Bearden game. CAK beat York 59-44.. Campbell dropped in 22.
  18. CAK just flat out hustled and beat Webb tonight 63-56. Wells played 12 kids, pressed and shut down a really good Webb Team. District 4AA will be a tough one for anyone to win.
  19. Q- Always enjoy your input and perspective. 1-Catholic will be very good in 4-AA this year. Smith and Anderson will be solid. Great passing team. May be the best balanced. 2-I think Alcoa will be a factor because it always has athletes. Not always great basketball players, but great athletes. This year kinda looks that way . Teeter is the guy for them. D1 Body. 3- CAK returns 3 of 5 starters. Yes Lee is gone, but it may make them a better "Team". Campbell shot 40% from 3pt. and plays above the rim. That's tough to guard. 4- Scott , Butts is the man, but he has always struggled to have a supporting cast that plays at the same level. Make no mistake Butts can shoot 5- Kingston has yet to believe it can win. There have been some good players from Kingston, but the block is a mental one more than anything else. Kids have to buy in. Not ready to make a prediction yet. After Rocky Top ...
  20. Go to 2:48 left on this link between Fulton and CAK. I think you will clearly find your phantom foul http://www.nfhsnetwork.com/events/89664
  21. Storm chaser looked like a prophet with GP and CAK. Lee -27, Campbell 18 and 11 boards Almost got the Carter- Alcoa spot on. That game could have went either way, Two good teams there. Ok chaser, Carter and CAK. What say ye?
  22. I predict Carter will thump Alcoa. GP and CAK are very similar in players, should be exciting!
  23. Q, praying for a speedy recovery for everyone injured in the bus accident .
  24. I was at both the Fulton /AE and GP /Carter games Fulton / AE was ugly, turnover plagued , poor shooting , fg and ft....just bad basketball. Fulton is a good team and could wake up and beat CAK and even the Region, but if they play like tonight they will not. AE wasn't so much good as Fulton was worse. Jody Wright is a good coach and you can never count him out. Shane Wells is also a good coach and should have his guys ready. GP/ Carter- Well played and well coached. Exciting ! To beat Carter, you better work on taking charges, cause they love to attack the rim. GP played very well , 6 seniors I think, that always matters. Predictions?
