You know a guy is mad when he puts the dollar sign in TSSAA. Hope Huntingdon is ready. This isn’t west Tennessee ball. You guys are similar to the PAC-12.

Dresden, East, Whitehaven, and Lausanne won state last year with Liberty and I believe one of the D-2 teams finished runner up. In addition, the PAC-12 is not a bad conference. I mean, Washington is a good team, Washington State is a good team, Utah is a good team, UCLA is a good team, Oregon, Stanford, and USC are good teams as well. I'll take that as a compliment.

Anyone know if the band will travel for this game?  If they don’t we won’t need as much seating.

Will y'alls band be that much of a difference? Y'all only have like 30 band students but somehow 60 players. Usually the band has near the same if not more than football team at most schools.

Haywood and White House wouldn’t meet until semis.  Haywood needs to worry about Obion Co who took them to the wire in regular season.  Then, the winner of Crockett Co and Dyersburg.  I have the perspective since now live in W Tn I am familiar with all these teams.  Looking on paper, WH has the easier road in my opInion.

Of course Haywood needs to worry about Obion, that is the smartest thing for Haywood people to say. But come on now, Haywood beat Obion Central by 4 touchdowns just 8 days ago, and that game was in Troy. Now, the game is in Brownsville. Crockett and Dyersburg will give them everything they got, but I believe in Haywood's defense and McRae and Reed will get the job done offensively.

I wasn't trying to throw a shot at White House, and if they (WH people) feel like I did, I apologize. South Side is getting better, but they're still a tick above mediocre. Hardin County is good, but they can't find a way to get out of the 1st and 2nd round. Lexington is a good quality team with a predictable offense.

I just thought coming in Friday that 3 of the 4 Region 6-4A teams will go down, I didn't expect all four Region 6-4A teams to have a competitive game on Friday. That's all.

  4. Is there a better alternative route for “protesting” yes. However, it shouldn’t be during our National Anthem at all. If you interview a Freedom Prep player what they are protesting about, they will say the same thing that the NFL players will say, simply because they look up to them, watch them, and with ESPN and Fox Sports endorsing those NFL players. I’m sure Freedom Prep had a little team meeting and the coach (obviously) will support his team and his players. If he didn’t support his players, you could see players just quit. However, I do believe that High School players kneeling down during the National Anthem simply do it for attention, which is clearly what they got. They kneeled, and everybody goes bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S.

Some thoughts on any Teams/Schools/Staffs that have underperformed during the 2017 season or last couple seasons.

They're not a 5/6A school but Bolivar has my vote. The Tigers have two West Virginia commits and a Junior linebacker who will be entertain in recruiting during the offseason. A lot of people predict them to finish first in Region 7-3A, but they finished fourth. A loss to an average Milan team and a loss a decent but definitely beatable South Gibson team. Last year they went 8-3, this year they finished 6-5. They gave up 32 PPG this year on defense but scored  37 PPG as well. But certainly underperformed.

  6. South Gibson got rid of their running back because of a locker room incident that landed the kid in Alternative school for 50+ days and no football games. Was the incident worth 50+ days in A-school and no football for the kid, absolutely not. But the "victim" of that kid parents filed sexual harassment charges and Stidham and SGC had to do something. Their running back (Dysart) moved from SGC to Chester so he can play football (which he did for one game) but SGC called TSSAA and ruled Dysart ineligible. South Gibson knew their perception was on the line.

To sit here and believe that the punishment at TCA is hard, is accurate. Way too hard where the kids have mixed emotions and reviews about TCA. 2-3 game suspensions and harsh conditioning? What if he was a non-athlete, what would the punishment be? Just curious. I know athletes get treated with special privileges, it happens at every school across America and beyond.

To sit here and believe that this kid would have 2-3 games suspension and harsh conditioning, while he would miss one down or one game makes you sound like the private schools are better than the public schools and/or the public schools gives their kids no discipline for any sort of punishment. We're not the U in the 80's.

You bet it shows discipline!  Do you know the facts?  Highly doubt it!  You need to know the facts before you spout off again.  The boys served their punishment which was 3 games for one kid and 2 for the other.  They also had rigorous conditioning as well as other forms of punishment within the school.  At a public school they wouldn’t have missed a down of football for what they did.

    Highly highly highly doubt it.

Trey Teague from USJ, Chad Clifton from Martin Westview and Avery Williamson from Milan. Artis Hicks as well but I can't remember where he played. It was either Haywood or JCM.

Hicks played at JCM in the 90’s I believe.

Was hoping some Hardin Co. fans would have some input on the game. Don't know a whole lot about them other than their record and that they traditionally have good teams with many playoff appearances. The Sonny Moore power ratings this week would have the Jackets as a 13 point favorite . I do believe that Hardin County  will match up athletically better with the Jackets than any of our Region 5 opponents. Looking forward to this one on Friday.

Unfortunately, there’s not hardly any Hardin County fans that post on here, which is odd because they have a great fan base.

Dont know anything about teams from Region 5. Can't overlook anyone is playoffs but rematch with Wayne Co at Huntingdon would be nice. How good is (9-1) Cornersville? Who are their big wins?

The title of this thread is “Fayetteville at Huntingdon” and you did everything but not mentioned Fayetteville. You even mentioned Cornersville for some reason.

Huntingdon's all time record against Trenton is 22-6 ! Our facilities are much nicer. Nobody has a better fan base than the Mighty Mustangs. It is what it is!

The school that doesn’t have a soccer and volleyball team. The school that plays their softball games away from the school? Yes, you put new brick on the outside of your field house, but the inside is....ehh? Turf field, that’s great! but with Huntingdon’s drainage problems (canceling the game against Camden last year) it’s more like a necessity. Can’t forget about that luxurious new press box that has....air condition and heat! Fan base wise, don’t know how you’re judging that. Haywood has a good fan base, Munford has a good fan base, Hardin County has a good fan base...

Peabody seems like a tough place to coach. A 7-2 team with 7 point loss to Union City and a 2 point loss to a senior loaded McKenzie team that lost to Union City by 2 Friday night. 10 years ago you guys were a joke. Now you're Alabama and supposed to go undefeated every year? I remember Peabody being automatic win for us every year. I always laugh at Peabody posters. You're not Milan, Huntington, Lexington, etc. Quit acting like you're too good to be 7-2 when your best players are sophomores.

Don't know your argument or your point. In recent years, Peabody has been a better program than Lexington. Huntingdon has always been a good team but they couldn't get past this game with the last name of Rice! Milan (along with Henry County and possibly UC) has the best tradition in all of West Tennessee. Peabody has the best facilities and the best fan base, but most importantly, they have a great school board led by Haney and will do anything it takes to make sure Peabody football is taken great care of! Yes, it also helps when Coach Jacobs hired a great assistant coaching staff over the past few years.

Pearson deserves it. For the way he plays the game, and his stats on both offense and defense. Character does count. On the field, in this award, and in every area of life.  Career....There are Mr. Football awarded to each classification for this very reason.

Pearson has my vote for 1A but I also don’t know who’s on the other side of the state that’ll be in the running. If someone has the identical stats at Kade, then I’ll look into team record and who they played. Yes, the scheduling is none of the players control. They can only battle who they see on Friday nights. Obviously, I have no fight in the race either.
