  1. You missed my point... Have fun with the win this week. Alcoa will be waiting.
  2. Playing TYNER. Who I believe squeaked their way into the playoffs with an incredible 4-6 record. I have never seen such a cupcake schedule the likes of which Upperman has played this year. Two teams with winning records? And if those teams (DeKalb and Smith) hadn't played in a horrible district this year, they wouldn't have had winning records either. Granted, I don't think ND is a great team either. I think Upperman takes this one, and then gets drilled next week.
  3. Oh I'm sorry. I should wait til I have 65 posts to say anything right? Come on man. Just because I don't post on here every day of the year doesn't mean that I don't know what I'm talking about. Every single one of you guys think York is God-sent. The true hero of Upperman football. I'm just saying, please do come back on these boards next year when you guys are sitting at home at this point in the season.
  4. Go ahead and get used to the apparent football geniuses over at the U. Oddly enough, no one ever heard a peep out of any of them before this year... They mostly come to these boards to hype up their boy York. At points this year, you would have thought he was the Heisman favorite the way they talk about him.
  5. Upperman has played 0 good teams this year. The wins, however impressive, count for next to nothing in the later rounds of these playoffs. If Upperman does beat ND this week, I hope they enjoy the long ride home from Alcoa. They have played only 2, I repeat, 2 teams with a winning record, and both of those teams were 6-4. Livingston gave them all they wanted and should have beat them. Enjoy the ride Upperman. It's going to be a long fall off that high-horse.
  6. Trust me 8AA is that bad. I have been watching this district for a while now, and I have never seen it this bad.
  7. Again, going purely on stats, please let us all know when York hits 9000 career all purpose yards so that we can know when he is getting close to Poteete. Best I've seen to come through this district in the last 10 years at least. Followed very closely by Brock McCoin. York is a good football player no doubt, but Mr. Football is just not going to happen. Good luck to everyone in the district this year, hope to catch some great district rivalries and most of all some good games.
  8. They sure don't. Like Poteete's. He is in the Tennessee state record books 13 times. He is 3rd all time in the state for total offense. As for McCoin, I don't think there was a more fun player to watch in the region the last couple years. Absolutely impossible to tackle.
  9. Wrong again with the stats. 2000 yards passing, says that first thing on the video you just posted. Look, if McCoin and Phillips weren't even considered last year, York has no chance. No one on those committees is going to cast a second glance towards someone from Upperman High School. Players like Penny Smith of Fulton will get way more attention because they have relevant football programs. Very very weak district this year will set York up for some fairly big numbers but when they look at his opponents' strength, that is what all those numbers will be attributed to.
  10. If you are comparing Manziel to York you're crazy. I believe that college is a whole different challenge brother if I'm not mistaken, and A&M played Florida, Alabama, and LSU, and you're telling me Manziel played an easy schedule?? York is playing an easy schedule no doubt, and unfortunately SC is not the team they use to be. They have one player, Jalen Manning, and he has to carry the team on his back.
  11. "Who I talkkin bout?" First of all I just went to the game and I wasn't going for either team. Second, learn how to talk. Third, Smith's D is not that great. Point is here, a Mr. Football candidate is a little out of his reach because he is in a weak district this year and he is not a great throwing QB. I mean Poteete from DeKalb was a Mr. Football candidate and he could run the football way better than York, and he could THROW from a couple of games I've seen him play a few years ago.
  12. Mr. Football candidate? He can barely throw the football. Every time he throws it's a prayer. Yes, he can run the football fairly well, but honestly who is he playing. He's lucky he didn't get caught going offsides half the plays he ran the ball because he would lean forward and begin to run before the ball was snapped.
