You guys don't get it. A top 3A school doesn't play a 1A and only win by 7.

If ND is basically relying on Upperman to not have any defense then I am afraid that they are going to be the one in shock. I think you guys are only watching the playoffs where like I said before the defense had players out both games. All but one will be back tomorrow

Ok ND has 63 players, Coalfield has 34 and ND could only put up 21 points on them. Doesn't sound to balance on offense.

For a well balanced, very talented team. You should have put up at least 49 on Coalfield. Coalfield is good but should never compete with a 3A playoff team. They would even tell you that.

You are dreaming son. I handed out a challenge to all you Irish fans and no one has responded. Why did your Notre Dame a 3A team not wear down a much smaller 1A school in Coalfield? Hey lie to me, say we had flu/stomach virus, we had a really bad game. Like I said last night when the Bees played Gordonsville in the second quarter they had their hands on their hips and bending over trying to suck in air. Now granted Coalfield is much better than Gordonsville this season but still if even the score was 21-14 start of the fourth quarter Coalfield should have been done and ND put up at least 14 points on them.

Upperman had late season injuries to their defense. Both Ely and Franklin has missed time in the playoffs but both will be back this week at 100%. If Ely plays tackle, you have a total 642 pound of muscle at defensive tackle. Video of Ely has already shown what he has done. These two together allow very few rushing yards up the middle.

Why is everyone saying Upperman defense is bad. If you look back what I posted last night you will the starting defense only gave 92 points all season. Late season injuries have hurt them but from what I have heard all but 1 will be back tomorrow night.

Very few true Upperman fans on here. They come on but only read. Most of the fans on here pulling for Upperman are SC, DC and other regional high school fans.

Upperman played six district games (must play games). They played defending state champs Gordonsville(a down year maybe but never the less defending state champs). Monterey is an inner-county game that is played every season. That leaves Clay and Jackson. To me this sounds like a great scheduling job by the U coaches. They knew coming in what they had on varsity, a very competitive strong senior class. They knew this team would make the playoffs and could make a deep run. So the schedule in which played could have been made for the underclassmen. Think about it, most of the starters were out by the fourth quarter if not a little sooner. That gave the young guys experience playing on Friday night. Add in that their JV also went 8-0, Ben and the coaches planned out a perfect schedule for what they need to accomplish this season.

I agree with that but I also think if a district has four 3A and three 4A come playoff time the 3A teams could be more ready for it than the 4A teams. Remember, losing to higher class teams in your district does not knock you out of the playoffs. A lot of times It comes down to a team non district wins and losses.

LA had huge guys last season. One problem with LA and DC is they move up to 4A after playing mostly 3A teams, really not fair to any team that has to move up for playoffs when their district is in a lower class.

It was but the one thing that stood out both of those years was 10-0.9-1.8-2 seasons but no success in the playoffs. For a district to be considered strong and say powerhouse they have to have success in the playoffs. I could be wrong but I don't think any team in district made it past the second round the last two years.

That is what it's all about. SC, DC, LA will be strong next season and Upperman JV went undefeated as well. This could turn into a very strong district.

+1 I can also add this to Herron great accomplishments. His first team meeting he had 19 players. Had almost 40,000 dollars in debt, they barely had 500 home fans to any game went 2-18 the two years before he arrived with the wins coming against Picket County. Now almost out of debt, 60 plus players and so many fans they all can't sit in the stands. Now that is a coaching job.

This statement proofs that you ND fans have no idea what you are talking about. Upperman gave up 49 to Tyner, a game that just turned into a shoot-out. Take the regular season games of both teams Upperman gave up 140 points for an average 14 ppg. ND gave up 111 for an average of 11.1 ppg. Now lets dig a little deeper. Fourth quarter points Upperman gave up 48, ND gave up 22. I assume most of these points were by both teams jv/younger players. Take those points out and ND gave up 89 compared to Upperman 92 a difference of 3 points.

Hate to break it to you but not a Upperman fan, don't support Upperman and have not been to a game all year. Just keep up with high school teams and have looked at both teams pretty close the last few days.

Play the game but to me Coalfield game just proves you guys can't play with a true 3A playoff team. How is ND depth, how could a 3A team not completely wear down a very small single A. In the U and Gordonsville game, Gordonsville guys had their hands on their hip and bending over gasping for air by late second quarter. Regardless how good Coalfield is a 3A team should wear down a single A team every time, UNLESS the three A team is not deep or not very good.

Upperman allowed on average 13 ppg while scoring 54. Until you prove to me anything the coaches at ND compared to what Herron and his coaches have done since being at Upperman. If you guys only knew the job that he and his coaching staff has done.

I will not be at the game and not a Upperman fan or supporter. I know a lot about them and know that senior hearts and leadership will carry any team a long ways and even pull some huge upset. Like I said earlier ND does not have the depth to play with this team.

You do realize that they are very few people on here from Upperman. They come on and read and save the laughter for after the game is played on the field. I don't know any parents unless it is about injury that actually post. Most posters are from Smith, DeKalb and Putnam area but not actual U supporters.
