  1. GAME DAY IS HERE!!!! The ridge runners run past East Nashville 35-7 War Freakin' Eagle!
  2. Antwan, 3-0>0-3. No matter how you try to slice it. Just come to the realization that the mighty empire built by Maynord is long gone and likely not coming back.
  3. This mustache is too much for the Carthage Owls! Cookeville by 42!
  4. Dobbs was a big time offensive lineman. He went on to play at Carson-Newman if I remember correctly. In my opinion, he was a Division 1 talent as was Brown. Postman, I'm talking about Jason. Brian was a good player, but Jason was a special talent. He started at quarterback on that '86 team. That team was just a couple of plays from winning it all much like the '93-'95 teams.
  5. Really? We are beating everyone in District 9-AAA (Lebanon, Wilson Central, and Portland), and we can't beat those garbage programs you listed. Get real! It's really unfortunate that your coaches were scared to play us. I talked to one of our assitants who said that they called Creasy several times for a game but he refused to play us. Maybe the radio guy knows something that the coaches don't. War Freakin' Eagle!
  6. Yes, Graves was a stud. I saw him one day stand flat footed in under the basket and dunk a basketball with two hands. Unreal athlete who was also a heady player. We will never see another like him (at Westmoreland). We only had 4 seniors (Graves, Newton, Manning, and Creasy) in '86, but Graves had the ability to just take over games.
  7. Jimmy Maynard's mustache is just too much for the Owls! Cookeville by 42.
  8. Getting better every week?? What if we are getting better every week. We turned the ball over 5 times and still beat Sycamore in regulation. You play great and pull off a miracle in double overtime. Ok. That really screams you are better than Westmoreland. You should just be happy that we don't bring the wrath off the ridge down on you single A Jackets. As far as East Nashville goes, they are fundamentally sound and disciplined, but our speed on defense and in the backfield will beat them. You guys will see Friday night. It will not be a pleasant trip to the ridge for the guys from Nashville. WAR FREAKIN' EAGLE!!!!
  9. Sorry Postman, but this is definitely not Slim Shady. I actually played at and graduated from Westmoreland in 1990. I moved away to a different county after college, but I still keep up with my Eagles. I try to make it to every game I can, and that is most of them. And yes, Graves was the starting QB in 1986. He is the best in Westmoreland history in my opinion. Great athlete with a good arm. He was a special player. With that being said, I just see this year's team playing with heart and passion like no other in Westmoreland history. Roger Perry had our boys going back then, but this year's team just has that chip on the shoulder from being disrespected. I think we have a legit shot of winning state, and supassing the acheivements of the '86 and '95 teams.
  10. Serious question: how does this year's team stack up against the 1986 team that went 10-4 led by Graves (who is the best that I have seen in the Red and White) or the mid-1990's teams led by Brown and Dobbs? Personally, I think this team has the makings to be just as special. Going toe-to-toe with larger schools like they have is amazing. Not sure if the '86 and '95 teams could have done that. Graves was a freaking player, and Brown is the probably the fastest ever up here on the ridge. Who wins? '13 Westmoreland vs. '86 Westmoreland '13 Westmoreland vs. '95 Westmoreland This is a tough one. Thoughts?
  11. Westmoreland may not be as big or as fundamentally sound as East Literature, but the Eagles will have a decisive speed advantage over East Literature. Speed kills, and the Eagles move on to 4-0. The ole' Ridge Runners are making a run this year. War freakin' Eagle! CAN'T wait for friday!
