  1. What matches do you see Ryan winning this time, that they lost last time? Too bad we aren't going to see the Murphy vs King rematch. Doesn't King dropping down hurt their team? Simpson now has to go to 126 when he was the clear cut favorite at 132?

    State Duals

Valid points , I've done a little research and spoken to a few people. Father Ryan definitely can make up some points at 145 , 152 and 220 and will have to. I don't think they get bonus at 113 this time or atleast not a pin and 182 will be a huge 12 point swing in favor of Baylor. Murphy was supposedly ( according to my sources) extremley sick. I think they reverse that loss but I'm also being told King is trying to go to 132? That match alone will be worth the price of admission. Baylor has been wrestling very tough competition since the Cleveland duals and should be clicking on all cylinders. At Cleveland it was many of their kids first matches due to football. I was told Surherland had only practiced a day or toe and hadn't wrestled live in practice prior to that tournament. Schmissrateur. Parker and the heavy hadn't practiced but a week or so. I think this Baylor team is about as tough as it gets after really looking at it. I say Baylor by 18 if they have their full line up. I'm told a few kids are nursing injuries and may not wrestle. You are interested in seeing if McCallie can beat who? McCallie didn't beat Bradley this year. I was there and Bradley won
  3. Can you still log in and see what people have been weighing in at? I would say people are on the decent if that's the case. I don't know Murphy personally but it appears that would hurt their lineup for him to bump up plus he seems like a very small 138 to begin with. Who knows where they will end up but if they all stay there it will be a heck of a tournament
  4. Like I told Soms about the Dii , let me think on it a bit . Although I'm pretty sure about Cleveland vs Bradley. It's almost impossible for everything to go in your favor 2 matches in a row. The forfeit at 120 alone could change the outcome of the whole match. I'll post my predictions on the final score soon
  5. Let me do a little research and make a few calls. We might have a bet on our hands.

    State Duals

Below are the Bradley vs Cleveland results. I see 6 swing matches and all went in favor of Bradley, Put the deducted team point back for Cleveland and it was 39-28. Cleveland forfeited 120, lets say they wrestle there and lose by decision and the score is now 36-28. If Cleveland wins there the score is 33- 31 Bradley. That leaves 5 swing matches and all they have to do is win 1 more match. Also I think they can get more bonus at 160 and Im not sure Bradley pins again at 126. Bradley could win again but they will have to wrestle a perfect match again. I don't see much more room for improvement on their end but I see a lot of places Cleveland can make up some ground. My prediction Cleveland by 9. 7. Are they making some weight adjustments? Sutherland, Seagraves, Parker should be shoe ins for championships. Schmissrateur (spelling?) has a good shot, Murphy normally would be a shoe in but may have a tough weight with King and Dendy, I would still put my money on Murphy despite the earlier loss to King. Im not familiar with their younger guys. Do any of them have a shot? I know they have a stud 8th grader. Canada and Powell should be in contention as well I would think. Who else am I missing?
  8. what??? you think ole Soms posts crazy stuff? lol
  9. I watched that match and I bet the house Cleveland wins the rematch in the region duals . Cleveland forfeited 120, lost all the toss ups matches and failed to get bonus points a couple of places they should have. As far as the individual traditional tournament goes it will be very close and a lot will depend on the draws. I would love to see Bradley win it but Ive got a feeling Cleveland will pull it out this time.

    State Duals

It looks like Baylor wrestles Father Ryan and Mba this week and McCallie wrestles Mba and Father Ryan. Not sure if everyone is healthy as of now. It appears some of the Mccallie kids have been banged up and Baylor hasn't had a full lineup the entire season. Not sure abut Father Ryan and Mba. Baylor beat father Ryan at the Cleveland duals without their full line up and a mild upset with King over Murphy. I don't think anyone gets within 20 pts of them this time.
  11. What are your early Predictions? D I- I know Bradley beat Cleveland already but I don't see them doing it again. Cleveland obviously needs their 120 lber healthy this time and they have to win one or two of those swing matches Bradley seemed to win all of . Bradley is certainly capable of doing it again but its going to take a monumental effort. Have Wilson central and Bradley wrestled this year? DII- Baylor all the way in this one. I think they win both the traditional and duals but for sure the duals. Father Ryan could move a few around to get better match ups and get some help from other schools in the traditional but I don't think they have enough to beat them heads up in a dual. Were both teams full speed at their meeting at Cleveland duals? It seems like Baylor even forfeited a weight or two.
  12. I just posted I wondered how Baylor was doing, see if you can use your investigative schools to find some articles on the individual results for this tournament. maybe the Archer area paper has a better article. Would also like to see results from the Prep Slam and Southeastern duals in Alabama. What about the PowerAde in Pa and Kansas City tournament Tennessee schools participated in?
  13. The board has been kind of slow this year. Lets get the discussion started and see how it pans out. It appears the race will be close this year for the team title at the D I individual state tournament. I think Cleveland will squeak it out with a narrow win over Bradley but Bradley could very well upset them with the right draws. I don't think Wilson Central will have the fire power but should finish third and may have a lot to do with who wins the championship depending on the draws. In DII I think Baylor wins it this year with Father Ryan second. father Ryan usually peaks at the end as everyone knows but baring some major upsets I just dont think they have the manpower to beat Baylor this year. They may move around and drop weights to get more favorable match ups so only time will tell. McCallie ends up third if all their guys are healthy. Has anybody seen any recent activity by Baylor ? It appears they aren't wrestling many in state teams or tournaments. What is the status of the McCallie injured guys?
  14. I dont get to see too many dIi games but Im amazed at how the talent must be picking up when i read all these posts. What all dIi players are now playing in College and where at?
  15. No offense meant but 106 and 113 are not even in the same ball park as the middle weights. What national placers are in 106? Are you refering to age based tournaments? The middle weights up to 160 are always the toughest by far. 106 is mostly freshmen and sophmores. There are a lot of returning place winners in 113 but thats because they were in 106 the year before, its also mostly underclassmen. The middle weights usually dont have as many returning placers because its always senior dominated. I had rather wrestle in a bracket with 140+ freshmen and sophmores than 75 seniors any day of the week. When you do have the rare upper-classman in 106 or 113 they are usually not as physically developed as the middle weights. Thats one reason Debien and Oliver are so succesfull. Not only are they extremley talented wrestlers they are also physically and athletically more comparable to middle weight guys. This tournament does drop off big time when you get to 170 it appears but everything below that is loaded with studs. I think kramer and West have the best shot at placing. They are both outstanding wrestlers and they also have much easier brackets due to football. I think Debien , Murphy and Chalifoux have the next best shots also because of favorable weights. The guys in the middle weights better be prepared for a war because all those guys are good. I think Kennedy may suprise some folks and have a good tournament. There are a couple of studs in his weight and probably the best wrestler in the country in Marsteller but it drops off quick after the first couple of guys. Stevison could also make a run. He is very dangerous and can get hot with his funky style and suprise some folks. He is one of my favorite wrestlers to watch without a doubt. Im shocked to see Sutherland that heavy. I would like to see him 100% because that kid can wrestle with anybody when hes healthy but I think hes probably missed too much time from the mat the last couple of years to do well in this tournament. Simpson is another I think will have a great year. Hes right in the heart of all the studs in this tournament though so it will be rough. Connell has also had a great amount of success in Tennessee but hes in one of those super hard weight classes. If you look at his losses and close matches last year I just dont see any guys that were super32 level. Why isnt Tate Robinson wrestling ? Has he wrestled at all since transfering to Baylor ? Did he catch the injury bug that seems to plague the Baylor wrestlers? He would obviously be a contender to place if hes not too rusty. is Oliver wrestling in the tournament in Iowa? He obviously would have been our best shot at a champion.
  16. What is the status of Mr Heards injury? Ive only seen him play once but he was the best Ive personally ever seen in Tennessee. Hopefully he recovers back to his normal self and makes Tennessee proud in the college ranks.
