  1. Hopefully he won't listen to the parents. Most parents haven't got a clue when it comes to what a hs football program needs. Just because a guy has some success with a middle school has no reflection on what he could do as a hs head coach. I've seen a lot of coaches do well at middle schools. All you need in middle school is a couple decent players and an average coaching mentality and you can win. Not so for competition you'll see in HS. JMO, but I've been around the guy a few times and he acts like it hurts to associate. I'm not sure he could control a classroom much less 50-60 football players. Not what this team needs when discipline is a major concern.
  2. Cotten???? Are you serious. Well that tells me what the community knows! If Cotten gets an interview it is strickly because he is a hometown boy and to satisfy the people wanting him for the job. He pushed for WC to force Johnson out and that hasn't stuck well with Administration. Cotten has NO idea what it takes to run a HS program of that size. You think discipline is bad now, turn the program over to him.
  3. Yeah, great hire. Just what WC needs, a coach that was plastered all over the Tennessean a while back for being caught with a prostitute!!!
  4. Any truth to the rumors that Tyner had to forfeit a couple games due to players not being enrolled in high school? I know how these things get started, just curious. Seems to me that if this happened and TSSAA knew then they would not be in playoffs.
  5. Will this game be aired on radio within the Cookeville area? Can't make the trip, would like to at least be able to listen. Thanks for any info!
  6. If Smith beats Tyner, Smith wins in the rematch against Upperman.
  7. Johnny, you just solidified my point!!! haha. Just like Antwan said, Nashville? And I guess we'd all be the worst team out of their schedule if you played LaVernge's! If you haven't looked, they played Wilson Central, Ravenwood, Riverdale, Oakland, Blackman, Siegel. Now keep talking and remove even more doubt.
  8. Really Johnny? Your talking classifications when every team the U played outside of region was single A. Oh, before you say it, with the exception of Jackson Co. which may as well be single A.
  9. Your right, I did say that. And I think it would be a good game with Cookeville winning. Upperman would not put up the pts against Cookeville that they have against their other opponents.
  10. Did I say anything about Cookeville being good? Are you seriously basing your opinion on a preseason game that featured Cookeville with a completely new system and coach. Not saying Upperman would win now against Cookeville but it would be a good game.
  11. As we've seen so far, it's not hard to make the playoffs. Upperman's region is WAY down to say the least.
