  1. Listen man, idk what your issue is, but if you have a problem with me come address it man to man like adults. I have no idea what I have ever done to you personally but your comments toward me are getting really old really fast.

I was going to call you but you took your telephone number down. Sorry I got it

I asked what your affiliation was with Summit. You asked why is that my concern. I'm just trying to figure out why anything that relates to Father Ryan or McCallie is your concern. You're the one that started it I just asked the question.

  3.

If my comments came across as anything other than trying to say his wrestling speaks for itself I apologize. Sometimes tone and context gets lost in text conversations as opposed to spoken word. I was commenting on the post that said Simpson was bigger and stronger and that's why he won. My comment was for him to watch the match vs Summit at the GP west where he was clearly not bigger or stronger and teched him still.[/quote

How is any of this your business ?

  4. You are correct in that if Ensworth ever decides to get serious about wrestling it will be over for every team in Tennessee and you can just mail the state championship trophy to Bellevue.  Early last summer there were rumors beginning to swirl around that Ensworth athletic director Ricky Bowers was going after a wrestling coach from Tennessee that has been ultra successful and would be willing to pay 6 figures to hire him along with providing him with 2 great assistant coaches.  For whatever reason the rumor died after about 6 weeks.  With Ensworth you never know what they are going to do.  They may very well make another run at that same coach before he signs a contract with his current school or they may go after a successful coach from one of the northern or Midwestern states.

With that philosophy what has happened to McCallie.

  5. Dave Isbell is doing great things with team Clarksville. he is insuring that not only will Clarksville high be on top of the podium again within the next few years but the level of competition coming from the Clarksville area in general will be elevated! And as for coach Badon He is one of the finest technical and ethical coaches in the state.

Amen to that. Tommy is a fine man and a very good coach. If they don't appreciate him up there I am sure they can find a place at Father Ryan.

  6. It doesn't look like he is predicting any medalists from Arlington.

Looks like they only had one wrestler ranked in the top 6 as of the most recent rankings... doesn't seem unreasonable to assume that one wrestler doesn't make it.  I would assume his reasoning behind it is how the bracket is drawn out.

Arlington only had one last year, and he has graduated.  Last year's team seemed to have similar results to this year's team (same round at state duals) so not sure a stark change would be warranted.

Just interested in what your logic would be to have them with more because your post seems to indicate you would think they should have more.

Hopefully none of the Arlington wrestlers are paying attention to one individual's predictions anyway.

No just thought they might get a little more love with 7 region champs.

I was in Memphis this past weekend and thought they were the second best team in Memphis on Saturday.

  7. Since the last thread was highjacked and talked about a weigh in controversy, post your predictions here. Only predictions. Ill get it started by posting Pin-TN's official predictions

Again, all credit should be directed to Hamm...I just copied and pasted

So you don't think Arlington will not have but 1(one) medalist ?

  8. tenth of a lb. My son said he almost cryed for him, they have wrestled together since they were young and are pretty good friends. Need to change that rule to allow a 10 minute grace period for the regionals only( just because it affects another tournament) "The State"

Really. Give him extra time. What's next ? I thought he had all week to make weight.

  9. Just to put a ribbon on this...

MemphisTiger14 was right on with most of his predictions as Arlington ran away with it early on. They crowned champions in 7 of the 14 weights and qualified all 14 wrestlers for state. Superb, if not unprecedented. Bartlett was a distant second with 3 champs and 10 qualifiers which is a strong showing by most any standard. Houston, Bolton, and Collierville rounded out the top 5. The finals had some really good, close matches and the requisite controversial ref's call.

Congratulations to all the state qualifiers and especially to the region champions:

    106 Reed Canon, Arlington

    113 Caleb Morgan, Arlington

    120 Dylan Cockman, Bartlett

    126 David Thomas, Bartlett

    132 Harrison Phillips, Arlington

    138 Mike Mowery, Arlington

    145 Grayson Young, Houston

    152 Kris Bledsoe, Bolton

    160 Cedric Lynn, Memphis East

    170 Aaron Moore, Arlington

    182 Jarterius Graham, Bolton

    195 Ray Hardin, Arlington

    220 Todd Roaten, Arlington

    285 Trey Hawkins, Bartlett

Best of luck to all at Franklin next weekend.

What were the bad calls ?
  10. Fellas, Thanks for your unabashed criticism. It makes me want to keep posting here.... I am not a coach so I am still learning. As to the other folks who gave their thoughts without insult, thank you.And I wasn't the first one to complain about state tournament refs...that title went to IrishDadRedux on the "Father Ryan vs McCallie in the Semifinals?" thread.God forbid that a Father Ryan wrestler get a bad call. The language I heard at the Bradley tournament was so dirty when their guys lost I had to take a shower. (I know that is not representative of ALL Ryan supporters, but if the shoe fits.....)Anyhow, Thanks for helping me better understand a very confusing set of stalling criteria (which is often called differently from match to match AND is often called differently in February than it is in November)As to not to offend any one elses fragile sensitivities, I have disabled access to the offending video. 160 views is enough apparently.Good luck at state.

Well you did not need to take a shower one of the Ryan parent's could have sprinkled a little holy water on you and you would have been fine.

Maybe just maybe your team could take some lessons from the Ryan team and you might have won a match at the state duals.
