  1. They play at Jackson South Side this year. That's about as close to Memphis as they will get I think, but it should be a great game to see.
  2. Hahaha. Eh, I just put the extreme headline with it to ensure that their video would get a maximum amount of views possible. Like I said if Blackwell is in CPA's backcourt then I agree that one is better. But I really do believe that it would be in the top 3-4 backcourts in TN though if they all were to be ranked.
  3. They only had two seniors last year, one of which was offered by Trevecca. All 5 of the starters on their team this year will play college ball at some level. Three of which might be D-1... all three of those players grew up at Lighthouse and easily could've left Lighthouse when they were in Middle school when they got pitched by some not-to-be-mentioned D-II schools, but they/their parents chose to keep them in Lighthouse. Tennessee Tech specifically has been on the phone with some of them in recent weeks. But you apparently know what your talking about too... they "came from public schools from not getting good enough grades." Whatever you say bro. Glad to see you keeping it classy and respectful. Best of luck to you too kid.
  4. Feel free to keep on assuming that they are better just because they are at bigger and more reputable schools. You have very little or possibly even zero exposure to any of the backcourts listed above, and you would never be saying any of this at all if it wasn't for the fact that its from Lighthouse and that gets under your skin. If you decide to actually find out what your talking about, you can start by asking the head coach at Brentwood Academy why he choose to cancel his scheduled game against Lighthouse last year after he played them in his playday and got ran out of his own gym.
  5. By the way, they are independent this year, that's what I mean. Just the Boys basketball team is independent... the rest of the school is still in MTAC.
  6. Yea I'll have to be sure to check out a BA game this year. Lighthouse basketball isn't playing small christian schools though with this team. Last year they were 16-0 against AAA schools and the top Div-II teams as well. Vic Wharton isn't going to have a team this good beating Pleasant View by 70-80 points. That's pointless, they are only playing good teams. I agree with you though that they would be considered a lot more legitimate and reputable if they were actually in TSSAA :-/ As long as they are not, people will assume it means shady things are happening. And yea, they had some older sisters that were pretty good back in the day too.
  7. Yea I'm aware they are on different teams. I'm just stating facts about the players that I've seen play of the one's you mentioned. And I'm not willing to agree to Blackwell being a "backcourt" player until I see if that's what happens later this year. I agree if Blackwell and Tiger are their backcourt, they would obviously beat the twins then... but I'll believe Blackwell plays it when I see it. I've heard about the freshman at BA, but I find it extremely hard to believe that he and Oatsvall together would be "better" then the Nappiers right now. I've heard multiple college level coaches say that the Nappiers have OVC potential. Even Rick Byrd saw them play at Belmont this summer and immediately started asking about their grades, transcrips, etc. He made his interest very clear. However, I don't think they will get an offer as good as Belmont, but only because they are getting overlooked because of their lack of height. If they were 6'3 doing the same things that they are doing now, they would have ACC and SEC offers already. Anyone with a basketball IQ who has seen them play in person would know that. Why doesn't Lighthouse join TSSAA? I wish they would man, but I don't know. And if by "half your team" you mean two transfers from Ezell Harding (only one of which was in the starting lineup) then yes your correct. Thanks for putting a little more thought into your post then the SmokeStack dude from Goodpasture who is just mad that little Lighthouse has a team that would've beaten their great team last year, and would stomp them by 40 points this year.
  8. Oatsvall and Tiger are good I agree.. but if you bet on them against the twins right now, you would lose.
  9. Just watch it, and it will be hard to disagree with me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUNwADb9NZs
  10. Is Jackson South Side going to be strong again?? Or did they lose a lot??
  11. Hardly anyone at Lighthouse even knows the answer to that question. I know just a few years ago they strongly considered joining TSSAA. I think there are actually a variety of factors that kept them from making the move, but I don't want to speculate without knowing for sure. I definitely would've enjoyed seeing them compete on a bigger platform like TSSAA, but unfortunately I don't see that move happening any time in the near future.
  12. Lighthouse Christian went undefeated at Belmont and Tennessee Tech's camps. They beat Oak Ridge, Ensworth, BGA, and a long list of others that I can't recall off the top of my head. The Nappier twins (only 5'10 or 5'9ish) are both playing above the rim now and in my opinion without any doubt they will be one of the most athletic and fastest backcourts in TN this year. They had a transfer in from Ravenwood that will help this year, but Tripp Davis will be their leading scorer again. Their biggest games this school year will be against Jackson South Side and Dayton Dunbar (Ohio).
  13. It's never too early to ask about next year. Who's going to be on top next season? Is CPA still going to be at the top of the Midstate or are they going to see a drop off? Are Siegel and Blackman both still going to be very strong?? What schools will challenge them.... Other teams that were ranked in the midstate top 10 this year included: Brentwood, Goodpasture, Lighthouse, Cheatham County, Kenwood, BGA, East Nashville, Pearl-Cohn, Lavergne... How are those teams looking for next year? Who will still be strong? Who will drop off? (I know Goodpasture was stacked with seniors) What teams will be really good that I didn't mention....
  14. I'm not very connected with MJCA but I highly doubt that he is on a "hot seat." I also doubt that their administration is "feeling the pressure" because of a couple of people on coacht.com are attacking the philosophy of MJCA's sports program. Not all Div II schools need to be trying to build the next Ensworth or Knox Webb... thats simply not who they are trying to become as a school. They have other things that are more important to them then simply "doing whatever it takes to get on top athletically." I dont know PC at all. But I would bet that a lot of people who think he should be fired would simply never line up with MJCA's athletic philosophy in the first place. Winning in football is not their highest priority, nor should it be for any christian school. Somewhere along the line people took the fun out of high school football and what is ultimately important within it, and started thinking that everyone needs to be trying to build the next University of Ensworth.
  15. Lighthouse beat #1 Ranked (in Div II) BGA 79-65. What's not in the news article, but is impressive, is that they did so with two of their best players (Chase Napier and Will Smith) sitting on the bench in foul trouble for at least half of the game. They both picked up 2 fouls within the first 4 minutes of the game, and didn't set foot on the floor again until the 3rd quater. They ended up having 3 players foul out (including both Nappier twins) and still never had the lead cut down below 9 points. If they played well, and not in so much foul trouble, they could've won by 20-30 points. It's too bad that we will never know how they could do against CPA or siegel this year... those would be exciting games to see.
  16. Ahh yes, Lighthouse isn't in the TSSAA, so obviously they must be cheating since they are playing well. You seem to have it all figured out. Ask people who know specifically what's going on at Lighthouse, and you'll find out that there's all kinds of shady things happening in their relentless pursuit of becoming an athletic powerhouse in Tennessee... oh wait, that's absurd and not even remotely close to who they are... but whatever
  17. quizlo11

    Ezell Harding

Does anyone have an update on this??? Who's Ezell looking at?? Have they done any interviews yet??
  18. Pretty sure that Hendersonville Christian joined TSSAA this year and they are eligible for postseason play. LCS will definitely not be as good after losing 10, 15, and 50 but they still have a promising group under them and would easily still compete in the TSSAA. Kid named Zach Cambell is arguably the best athlete in the entire school at LCS and he's a 7th grader right now (he'll start on varsity as a freshman, easily)... when the twins graduate, he will be the next big thing that they can build around. Plus, the year after the twins leave, #12 would be a senior and they have some other kids that will be pretty solid by that year too.
  19. Yes, they actually lost two important players who transferred to Lighthouse. One I mentioned, and the second is TJ Smith who comes off the bench but contributes well. TJ will play a much bigger role for Lighthouse next year. He's a sophomore, and still developing, but next year he'll be a starter for sure.
  20. It hasn't happened overnight. It has been steadily growing that way for the last 3 years. The team is led by Braxton Napier, Chase Napier, and Tripp Davis who are all exceptionally talented 11th graders. They are such a talented group that they have been starting on varsity since they were 8th Graders. As they have gotten older and better, Lighthouse has scheduled more and more upper-level opponents, because those boys are just that good. Also, they picked up a key player from Ezell Harding this year, Will Smith, who has been a big addition to the team as well. They left the TSSAA like 10 or 11 years ago and although I was not around at the time, I'v heard that a big part of it was because at that time they were not competitive, they were geting their teeth kicked in by everyone. There has been many discussions in the past few years that they may return to TSSAA, specifically to Div II-AA, but that has not happened yet. I'm holding out hope that it does happen soon, but that's just me.
  21. Well, I was wrong. I am actually biased towards Lighthouse and so I definitely should not have predicted against them. Dunbar is a GREAT team though (an Ohio basketball powerhouse), and most the people in that gym thought that they would win before tipoff. Lighthouse won the Cane Ridge Thanksgiving tournament a few weeks ago. Tonight they beat Dayton Dunbar from Ohio to win the Overton Christmas tournament. That was an INCREDIBLE game that Lighthouse played tonight. In my opinion, anyone who saw that game tonight would probably agree that Lighthouse should at this point be considered a top 5 team in the entire state. Hopefully some of those boys begin to get the offers coming in from colleges here in the near future.
  22. Dunbar took it to MBA last night 75-60. They got a junior point guard that is only 5'9 but is committed to Ohio State. He is extremely fast and talented. (AJ Harris) ESPN has him as the 3rd best player in Ohio for his class. They're play style is a lot like Lighthouse. Extremely fast and athletic. Dunbar beats Lighthouse tomorrow night. That's my prediction. But it will be a really fun game to watch, and a huge recruiting opportunity for Lighthouse's quick guards (the twins) to show what they can do against a D1 commit.
  23. No, they aren't a member of the TSSAA. They play in the MTAC (Middle Tennessee Athletic Conference). However, they do schedule up pretty well. Of the 12-13 games they have had so far, 8-9 of them have been against AAA tssaa schools.
