  1. But to be fair, I would add that I never saw Barford play in high school. I'm talking about what he's doing right now at Arkansas and what I saw him do at Motlow. He has certainly added size and strength since high school from what I've read. But really, c'mon now you don't get to be the #1 rated JUCO recruit in the country without being a freak... Maybe if Garland grows and does the same thing I'll have a different assessment when he is as old as Barford.
  2. Agreed that Harmon certainly lacks the humility... I would even add that he doesn't even know what a team is. He is what AAU represents. Himself. But while all that is true, there is a reason that when Harmon played against Garland last year at BA, the very first thing that Greg Paulus did after the game was go talk to Harmon's coach. Anyone who was at that game saw that Harmon was the best player on that floor... at least that night he was. I also do agree with the comment though that its still very early for him though. Lot could happen. He certainly has the arrogance to be capable of destroying his own chances. However, I simply disagree greatly with your assessment of Jaylen Barford. Of all the kids I mentioned, I'd take him first. Size. Strength. Speed. The kid is scary good. Not that "one-on-one" matters much in terms of overall assessment, but Jaylen Barford would embarass Darius Garland in a one-on-one matchup. Saw Barford at Motlow and his explosiveness was borderline astonishing.
  3. He is certainly very good and will excel in college. But if I was talking about what recent players I have seen in TN that I think have an even higher ceiling than him, I'd pick one of these guys personally... Braxton Key Jaylen Barford Tyger Campbell Chandler Lawson Zion Harmon
  4. Saw so many posts in recent years that said stuff like "lets see if Maddox can still win when he has to play against teams with more or equal talent" Ensworth has more talent than CPA does this year. If you can't acknowledge that is an impressive job by Maddux to beat them on Saturday night, then your not even being honest with yourself. You don't have to like him, and yet you can still admit that was an impressive coaching job. Some of y'all are so fueled by hate that you cant even see straight.
  5. Forgot to mention, future one fifty has him ranked as the #2 overall player in the country. The other websites that do rankings for 8th graders also have him as a top 10 in the country as well.
  6. The player in this state with the most potential in basketball is an 8th grader that most of you don't even know about, at Lighthouse Christian. He already has a D1 offer from New Mexico St. Go on YouTube and type in "Jaden Springer" and you'll see videos of him with like 300,000 views. Bet you he ends up with better college offers than both Darius Garland and Jalen Fisher. However, I doubt he will be at Lighthouse after this year. Won't be surprised if he's not even in the state at all. Not that anyone would be surprised if he was suddenly on CPA's team next year either hahaha
  7. TN has 3 of the top 10 seventh graders in the country... Check it out http://www.coast2coastpreps.com/?cat=37
  8. When is this supposed Public/Private school split coming???
  9. Yes, their 3 best players have been there since early elementary school. And then a kid like Chase Hawkins transferred in because he wants to play basketball with those guys. What should Lighthouse do? Not let him in? And Big Poppa is right, they do have the luxury of letting him play right away since they are not TSSAA. But do they "recruit"? Not at all actually.
  10. But to answer your question... No, they won't. Lighthouse ran Ensworth out of the gym this summer at Belmont's camp. They also contacted Ensworth with multiple dates they could play but Ensworth didn't want to. I would say its because Lighthouse isn't TSSAA, but then again Ensworth scheduled Hamilton Heights and they've also scheduled Aaron Academy and Nashville Central Christian in the past who also are not.
  11. No, Ensworth didn't cancel on Lighthouse. That was Brentwood Academy who did that. I heard one of Hamilton Heights best players with multiple D1 offers didn't dress out yesterday. I won't be surprised if I hear that other players didn't play either. Hamilton Heights is 20-30+ points better than Ensworth if they are at full strength. There's a reason unapproved website only uses statistics and yet has Hamilton Heights at #2 in the state.
  12. Yea from the looks of things Hamilton Heights is aspiring to be an Oak Hill or Huntington Prep. They could hang with anyone in the country this year. They bring players in from literally all over the world. They have like 5 or 6 players at 6'5-6'10, and some of them were just as big and strong as they were tall... It was unreal to see... if you looked at the two teams standing next to each other pregame and didn't know anything about them, you would think Hamilton Heights would beat Lighthouse by 50. So it was amazing that with 1:30 left Lighthouse was only down by 7. Watching them play it doesn't even feel like your playing against a high school; felt more like a semi-pro team.
  13. If you enjoy seeing great basketball, go see Hamilton Heights play Lighthouse Christian tonight in Antioch. HH is very long. They got a 6'9 kid with an offer from Louisville and Vanderbilt. Lighthouse Christian has 3 guards who will probably all be playing in the OVC next year. Height vs Speed. Gonna be a fun one to see.

  15. John Overton High School Christmas Tournament: December 27th: Stratford v Overton - 9:00am Lancaster Christian v Spring Hill - 10:20am Independence v MLK - 1:00pm Marshall County v Franklin - 3:40pm Lighthouse Christian v Jemison (AL) - 9:00pm No games on Sunday, 12/28 2nd day is 12/29 Final day is 12/30; championship game at 8:30pm
  16. They aren't in TSSAA. They are really good. They beat MLK, FRA, Jackson South Side, Hillsboro, and Cane Ridge all by over 20 points... bunch of other AAA teams too, all by 20-30+ point margins.
  17. 1) CPA 2) Lighthouse Christian 3) Brentwood Academy 4) East Nashville 5) Cane Ridge 6) Brentwood 7) Creekwood 8) Station Camp 9) Hillsboro 10) FRA
  18. When I said "top Div-II teams" to be honest I had BGA and FRA in my mind because I think its possible they were the best teams in all Div-II last year. I didn't "spew disrespect" towards Ensworth at all; I simply said they didn't have a really good basketball team last year, which is true. The Corn Elder bball teams would've easily handled last years Ensworth team. To the other question, I think Lighthouse vs Mitchell or Jackson Southside last year would've been really close games that could've gone either way. I just think White Station would've been too good for Lighthouse, and CPA would have been the next toughest test. I
  19. If by "JV teams" you mean state champion BGA and a very srong AAA Stone Memorial team from last year, then yea, sure, that's who is in the videos.
  20. They beat both FRA and BGA who of course were in the D2-A championship. In Div2-AA they beat MBA by like 16 points I think it was. But lets be serious for a second, you honestly gonna tell me that Ensworth was really good last year?? It made Div 2-AA look like a joke that that team won a championship. Even Ricky Bowers himself admitted "we were really a bad team at times this year." I think what he actually meant by that was "how the heck did this team win a championship?" .... Lighthouse would've beat Ensworth by at least 15-20 points last year if not more. As you can see in the posts on this thread, everyone who actually saw Lighthouse play last year is acknowledging how legit they were. I think the only team in middle tennessee last year who could've beaten Lighthouse was CPA (and that woulda been a close game). Lighthouse beat Oak Ridge this summer. They beat Blackman in a playday last year. CPA could've beaten Lighthouse last year. White Station would've beaten them... but that's about it, in my opinion.
  21. Yea they aren't some of the best in the state for being leading scorers. They are some of the best out their for the defensive intensity/quickness, overall speed/athleticism, high basketball IQ... lot of other factors than simply scoring points. The video I posted clearly shows they have an extremely talented contested jump shot as well. And your probably right that most posters would not agree with me, but if CPA or BA was actually playing Lighthouse this year then ya'll would see what I mean... But, unfortunately that aint happening. 95% of the posters who wouldn't agree with me are people who have never watched Lighthouse in person... people who have seen them know what's up. Even some referees last year who had reffed both teams were telling us they wished they could see a Lighthouse/CPA game. "They were bigger then us, but we were quicker then them" (the refs exact words, not mine)... would've been fun to see.
  22. "Most people that see anything about Lighthouse automatically write them off because they do not play in TSSAA, fair or not." --- I completely agree with you and know that's true. It frustrates the fire out of me. People will associate Lighthouse with schools like Lancaster as long as we are not TSSAA; even if we aren't letting athletes into the school for absolutely free like Lancaster does. I'm fairly familiar with BA (I've spoken with their coach a few times) and they may be able to compete with us, but I feel confident Lighthouse would win that one. I believe their Coach would even agree with me if you asked him. East Nashville I am simply ignorant about. I can't say anything about that without assuming. And recently I actually heard Braxton Blackwell admit that CPA vs Lighthouse would be a great game. To be honest, I think it would've been a great/tight game last year. This year I definitely think Lighthouse would win. Drew Maddux wouldn't admit this in a dark room even if he was all alone, but I honestly think even he knows that is true. He saw Tiger go up against the twins recently in the Fall League, and as good as Tiger is going to be, he wasn't quite ready for the twins yet. And I do know this for a fact. CPA was registered for the Marshall County playday. And sometime after Drew Maddux saw that Lighthouse was in the same playday, CPA mysteriously was no longer scheduled to be in the playday. Of course, he would never say this outloud even to even his own wife that it's because Lighthouse was in it, but I believe that was the reason. He has not very much to gain at all in beating us. But a whole lot to lose in being beat by us. So, to his defense, I kind of understand.
  23. Dang, this site doesn't lack in facts that's for sure. Take a closer look. One of the kids committing multiple turnovers in that video fr BGA got a full ride to Lipscomb. "Mediocre" competition Haha they also beat Dayton Dunbar last year who had a guard committed to ohio state and is top 100 espn... But whatever
  24. December 6th at 7:30 Galilee, I hear ya. I actually heard that Lighthouse/Mitchell almost successfully scheduled a game this year. That would've been fun.
